I dont worry about it. Marvel has Disney money and lawyers, and could get them back if they wanted to write a big enough check.

That and it allows some other properties to shine. Don't care about the Xmen or FF in MCU. Just want a couple side pieces like Doom, Galactus, Surfer and the heralds, Annihilus, Badoon, and Shiar be integrated in the MCU. In other words, give me some cosmic Marvel sci-fi. Fox isn't going to do shit with that aspect with their focus on earth.

Fox should retain the license for another 7 years by doing a parody porn version of FF with constant jabs and snarks at x-men/marvel/disney.

Sorry but disney isnt gonna blow the money needed to get a successful franchise like X-Men back.

I feel I am the only one that wants to see this movie, Chronicle was great and I want to see how Josh Trank reboots FF.

I've always been curious if Marvel gets royalties from these movies or did Fox just pay one lump sum for the properties?

Imagine the apocalypse that would happen if they could cancel all Spider-Man comics because of Sony.

Marvel has a much better relationship with Sony than they have with Fox, and even if it wasn't the case, Spider-Man is far too popular to just cancel the comic whole sale. It'll probably hurt Marvel far more than it'll hurt Sony.

So glad I'm not into comics. I wouldn't be able to handle it, knowing a character I might potentially like could be killed off at any point at the whim of some executive in a cynical and petty business decision.

Then dont get into superhero main universe comics. Youll probably be happier.

This has been the case with comics for a long, long time. Editorial mandates to do such and such with a character is quite common. The OMD Spider-Man storyline is a prime example of higher-ups wanting a new status quo for a character.

You could just read the creator owned stuff that Image puts out. The only thing you have to worry about there is creators killing off characters to troll their fans.

More like the old status quo of the spiderman from his childhood.

I just read Brubaker's Captain America run, they should've just kept Bucky/Winter Soldier as Captain America, he was great in the role and Steve was fine as the head of SHIELD, damn comics always making things go back to "normal."

Now to read the Winter Soldier run.

Winter Soldier is the new Nick fury, which makes more sense anyway.

As for FF, we've already seen that the illuminati (which includes reed) are Now fugitives 8 months from now and the invisible woman is hunting him down as a high end part of the new SHIELD/Avengers, while Doom is hopping parallel worlds to stop the incursions along with molecule man and mad thinker.

FF is definitely going on hiatus because of all this insanity but the characters themselves are being more deeply integrated into the core titles. There is a BIG change coming to the marvel status quo and the FF are a big part of it, just as they always are.

Rumor is BS just like last time it came up

If Marvel really wants to hurt Fox, they should make Reed Richards beat Sue Storm to death in an Alcohol induced rage, and have Johnny Storm blame gay people for AIDS.

In a year they come back from an alternate dimension with different names and slightly different powers calling themselves the Awesome Foursome. And Marvel works this "new" group into the MCU.

Yeah I'm pretty sure this wont fly at all.

I've read many comics where characters get killed off and I got the feels, but even then I can still go back and enjoy the series those characters were in, even if I gotta go through their deaths.

Case in point, read this and I DARE you not to get any feels.
You will get feels mang, you will get feels.

Have their been any series of Fantastic Four comics of note? Like any good compilations or omnibuses?

Yes.
There's the original Stan Lee and Kirby run, Mark Waid's run and Hickman's run.
Those are the most notable ones.
Ultimate FF was good in its own way from what I remember.

I can see Disney getting back FF, but X-Men has been thoroughly successful. I don't see them getting those back. There's no reason for Fox to sell them.

Good, the comic books do nothing to help the movies.

Disney is just killing one of their longest lucrative franchise that lasted over 40 years.

Anything bad for Disney is good for the movie industry.

It's more of making a statement than anything. This alone isn't THAT big, but this coupled with the ending of any new merchandise featuring properties that Fox has the movie rights to & the end of any cartoons for said properties is a pretty decent blow to Fox in terms of advertising for their movies.
