Bioware are long dead imo, Veilguard is proof of the direction they went in and I don't believe any of their horseshit that ME will be any different. Funny thing is, ME has always had the option for swinging both ways in your romance options, it's just back then it was handled maturely and not shoved in your face every 5 seconds because at that point the Just Stop Oil gang hadn't invaded gaming

Equally, EA is pretty baffling too. Bioware has made many clunkers the past 10 years, but they still get chance after chance. With ME5 on the table too. Studio has 9 lives.

On the other hand, EA had gassed tons of studios in the past for less reasons. But Bioware seems to live forever.
