Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain |OT2| A Franchise Robbed Of Its Future

I hate literally everything about The Man on Fire. Every cutscene, every plot line, ever encounter. He exemplifies everything I dislike about the way the story is told in MGSV.

That seems ....random. What does he exemplify?

Can I just kick out "Troublemakers" from my base? People are constantly getting into fights

Yes, or put two in the same unit, they cancel each other out, or have a bunch of guys with the diplomat trait.

I just lost all my motherbase target side ops progression after falling off a ledge doing the more complicated one (intel or support platform i think). After redo all of them all over.

Is there a way to force a checkpoint so i dont have to do this nonsense again?
Havent checked, but doesn't selling resources make the game save? You can see the icon on the top right.

In affition to my question above regarding forcing checkpoints, is there a list of cutscenes that can be triggered early on on motherbase in addition to the medic platform? Where can i find kaz , DD and ocelot?

Nowhere, they appear in cutscenes only, Ocelot will sometimes hang around after a cutscene(only so you can shoot him with a tranq gun), and puppy DD seems to appear on the main platform randomly.

Make up your mind, lol.

They respawn just like everything else after a certain amount of time.

Only the anti air satellites stay destroyed.
What I mean to say that they do have a persistent destroyed state, enough that you can take advantage of it especially if side ops keeps taking you to the same base. Yes, they respawn but not immediately like you might first suspect (I think the in-universe explanation is that they need to have the gear transported).

I used a very casual meaning of the word "stay".

I heard you don't have to
do the extreme/hard mission stuff. Just do Side Ops and do the main Side Ops when they pop up and they will unlock the new MAIN Missions

Can someone correct me if I am wrong?
I read the same thing, but at this point it's either
do side ops or repeat missions .It's basically just dicking around hoping the next thing unlocks. Ive done like 10 side ops without a main mission.

Hmm..just finished CH 41
why did lose Max bond with quiet? I have the emblem on and I couldn't use her during the mission? Am I missing something?

I just called a heli and went to ACC after getting R&D done. That system is dumb af, just save the god dman game after completing a side op

You'd have to be more specific, if a buddy
dies during a mission they get auto fultoned out and you lose bond points. You sure that didn't happen? Having less then max bond shouldn't prevent you from using them during a mission.

Me too wtf. I have died so many times, this is the only part of the game I stopped having fun. I even tried the chicken hat for the first time and
it doesn't help at all. Tanks still spot me from across the map.

It seems like this should be a fun mission, in concept, but its not at all.

You might have to do what I did
lay on the desert floor for half an hour to research the CGM 25 auto-seeking launcher. It does great damage and the 'fire & forget' target system lets you run back to cover before anything can take a lock on you. I had that, the HAIL MGR-4 and the ZORN-KP + battle dress for good measure. I looked like the bastard child of Master Chief, a Gundam and a fuckin Ninja Turtle, but it got the job done.

Also, be sure to move back and forth between spots to prevent any tank from getting a bead on you. I stayed on the lower floor and used 3 openings towards the tanks to fire rockets out before ducking back in to reload and recover from damage. I also ordered Quiet to fire impulsively since she'd take so long between shots. The whole fight is pretty frustrating, and it seems like there's a bit of luck for those of us who get hit hard by it before we break through. Keep it up!

Was getting caught part of your plan?

Don't forget tons of chopper and fire support helps

I've played an unhealthy amount of this game and I just noticed I'm only at 12% complete. I may not survive the weekend.

Mission 18 questions
did I have to put all the kids on the chopper or just the one that couldn't make it? like holy shit if I had to put all of them on the chopper then im pissed. I pretty much aced the mission until I got spotted by the chopper it self and shit went down hill. Spent the last min of the mission guarding the heli thinking they would just jump in..like I had to do THAT as well?

You got to put all of them on board. They plot on their asses as soon as the chopper is at the LZ.

Controls piss me off sometimes. When you jump into the back of a truck, holding down X to crawl will usually result in BB standing up like an idiot unless you wait an extra second or two.

Also, nightvision goggles are finicky as shit when it comes to re-equipping them. Half the time it'll default to my cardboard box instead.

late game question.. so to get
Episode 45 to unlock will I have to remove the butterfly emblem and then replay Episode 43 or what?

on a side note, I've just put down an order for this, money well spent...ahem.. right?

Allright. I want to send my combat unit on a mission but it needs a vehicle. I have extracted one vehicle (only one) the last time I went out on the battlefield, but I still can't send out my unit, it says it needs a vehicle.

Do I need to equip it somehow?

No it just happens when you remove the emblem. Specifically, the unlocking of Side Ops 150 is the start of it.

There are several vehicles. You probably extracted the wrong one.

Is one of the best cutscenes in the game really locked by a specific parameters being required? Spoilers: Involves Rain

The Quiet Rain scene was simply sublime. However, do you REALLY need to have Quiet in your path and return back to MB when it's raining?

Little shit like that is pissing me off. It's like the Medbay scene all over.

Is there a reason I'm my seeing my weapons actually change color when I modify them? I hit okay to apply and they are still at default.

Oops, didn't know they don't take over the defaults. Have to equip them.

Completing a Combat Deployment triggers a checkpoint.

I think removing the butterfly emblem and if you have max bond with Quiet should be enough. But it will unlock the side ops 150 first, so you'll need to do that first.

And that's a cool REX. I still find REX the best designed Metal Gear in the series. And this look awesome.

Is there a suppressor for the riot smg somewhere? Been screwing around on missions and have come to the conclusion after one mission and two sideops that I hate Africa. It's too big and the troops are far more organized and equipped to deal with this.

Where's the suppressor specialist that gives you access to the unlimited suppressor?

Leave mb and comeback

Trust me when I tell you, no other saving or checkpoint will keep your target practice progress.

I have it removed, have max bond with Quiet, but still nothing, have everything else in the game done, no available missions, 133 side ops done, no more available at the minute. Strange, will reload it.

Yeah agreed there with REX, always loved the design of it. There's a version of Ray available in the new year, tempted to go for that too.... must resist.
