No. What I mean is after you complete your mission, and you pick up a daisy or something. That's not coming with you is it? Since it took place technically after the mission. I lost some materials like that one time.

Hopefully I explained that right.

No if you picked it up right after the mission it wont count, but keep playing, as soon as you see the yellow round thingie that indicated it saves, as soon as it's gone yo ucan bail out and it'll follow you. I farmed 200k fuel with kind of the same way, started a mission, knock down two guys, loot the container, trigger a save, restart mission. Took me about 40'ish minutes to farm 200k

Just completed mission 6. This might beat out Splatoon for my GOTY. Haven't felt too stealthy though. I usually call in a chopper and always seem to kill a lot of people :/.
Anyways, someone spoil this for me: is there any purpose to extracting mortars and machine guns?

I need a transportation specialist to upgrade my Fulton to carry vehicles. Would I just find that type of recruit in the field or is there a specific area/region or mission to do?

Ah OK. That's what I thought happened. Cool. Good to know. Was scared of doing this because I like to wander a bit after mission complete.

There's two story missions that give you a transportation specialist, in both afaik they are optional prisoners to rescue. To see what missions you need you can scroll through the story missions page and somewhere on the screen (top right I think) it tells you what potential specialists you can get from that mission.

Big boss looks so fury.

Episode 25-29 spoilers.

I know there were a lot of complaints re: the infection of Mother Base and how it was handled. I honestly didn't mind it. It felt obvious to me that it was a language based thing by that point (I mean seriously, they hit us over the head with it ever since the Devil's House) so narrowing it down to Kikongo was pretty easy. It was annoying to manually go through all 500 odd members of Mother Base to quarantine them, but it only took about 10 minutes when all was said and done.

Also the missions leading up to Code Talker's rescue were all really straight forward and pretty short so it didn't feel too difficult to just blaze through them.

Kind of enjoyed the Skulls boss fight in the airport, hated the Skull snipers before Code Talker. Ended up having to just run from them in D Walker.

WTF Kojima, lol.

Tape Spoilers past mission 35.

God, now i finally feel like i play a metal gear game! Im on mission
30 and just listened to skull-face monologue in the car. And after he was done an overly dramatic song in spirit of the theme to MGS3 started playing
! I freaking love it!

I feel like I have the perfect stealth loadout right now for me and my buddy, feels good. I really like Quiets
Gray XOF outfit, it looks really cool and goes well with Big Boss's stealth suit and bandana.

Just noticed that this game's really bad about showing off the dirty screen effect on TVs. The bright, large skybox on mother base makes it particularly noticeable. It's the first time I've ever really seen it on my Panasonic plasma and I was terrified that something was wrong with my TV. Turns out, everything's normal and MGS just shows stuff off in a way you don't normally see.

Chapter 2 is so bad, I was loving playing this game but now it just feels so tedious. You can tell its just a scrapjob at this point. If this goes much longer than a couple hours I think I might actually quit and just go to youtube for the rest of the cutscenes

Man it's even going as far as souring my opinion on a game that I was having a lot of fun with just days ago

rescued the child soldiers

Don't. Mission 4
3
is something to be experienced.

Just beat the game.

All I can say is, wow. Kojima just straight up doesn't care. Whatever, MGS3 is going to be standalone in my head.

Seriously though, I'm still processing just how terrible this all was. Apparently there are more tapes after the credits, so I"m listening to those now as I sit here bewildered and angry. I mean, the ending wasn't really out of nowhere, since the intro made it pretty obvious that this was a possibility. It's just bizarre to think that Kojima would actually do something like this.

So I haven't been paying attention, but does your buddy's support level (or bond, whatever it's called) increase only through main missions, or does it also increase when you use them for side-ops?

It increases for both, it may increase more and faster when you do the main missions though.

This is correct. Complete a side op (it saves) then Fulton a random patrolling guy, return to ACC, and you will not have the Fultoned guy or anything from after the side op saved.

However, you can force saves very easily.

Either pop into the Settings menu and change a sensitivity one point, then quit via ACC. Or Sort staff under the Staff Management menu. Or send troops on a combat deployment.

The game will save after any of these things, so you keep that daisy you picked after a side op. Then choose Return To ACC once you've forced a save.

Ugh, died two more times on episode

Well, i'm out. At least for today. Dying 8 times on a bullshit boss in a day is enough.

I found that boss really easy. Don't really get what people conplain about. I think it took two tries for me.

Rocket launcher > target weak points > air strikes > chopper support > keep moving and use the environment to block it's line of sight with you > get ready for it's very powerful attack.

Even use Quiet and keep telling her to attack it. It'll focus on her sometimes.

Edit: you have to let the legend come back to life

I may be crazy, but I swear that enemies have a harder time detecting black people at night. I've been taking Finger from GZ out on some side ops and moments where I would have definitely been spotted by enemies as Boss, Finger cruises along by.

Just finished it - good not great as an overall package.

This game is going to plummet in price in terms of the 2nd hand market...its the first Metal Gear game since '98 I want to sell having just completed it.

I tried to use the tank(s) mostly but they control horribly, impossible to drive and aim at the same time. Either way, i might give it a try tomorrow again.
