Quiet EQ question:
do thesilver and gold outfits do anything special? I have them both because they're ridiculous but do they have a function aside from that?

Also fuck the
quarantine

Got the mission that unlocks FOB triggered while I was starting another mission. Dammit Kaz, couldn't you see that I was busy!? Anyway, completed both missions

I'm not entirely sure if I'm vulnerable to attacks. I built my 1st FOB and my staff was expanded, but the tutorial isn't quite finished. I haven't done a training infiltration on my FOB, but I am able to do at least three dispatch missions at once. In any case, I did set myself offline just to be sure.

I also increased my direct contact list just in case of an attack. Unfortunately, one soldier I wanted to have direct contact with is no longer on my base. It was the first female soldier that I recruited by extracting her via a side op. I didn't think the prisoners I rescued would fall victim to forced dismissal due to excessive staff capacity. And to make matters worse, I don't even know when she was removed since the KIA/Former section has some sort of limit of people listed.

So to Poison Wolf: I don't know where you are or what you are doing. I don't even know if you're still alive. But know this. You'll always be a Diamond Dog and you'll never be forgotten ;_;7

So, I'm totally fucked. Mission 45:
I literally cannot do this mission and there's no way to exit it or return to ACC. I can't keep playing even if I wanted to. What the fuck?

The waiting room doesn't show a hard limit but I have now 200 soldiers in there and every time I get new ones the game automatically dismisses some to make room. (it seems to pick the worst by default so I didn't lose anything). I thought it was unlimited?

i'm sorry. you're just going to have to run your gmp into the red and git gud :<

if you have stealth tech developed, just use it and fulton the shit out of everything.

forgot to ask, but how do I trigger mock battles with the staff? so far, two people on the staff mentioned it and all I did was perform CQC attacks that left them stunned

Good places to fulton tanks?

Need one for a deployment.

tank side ops. I don't think they appear naturally in the world.

Very disappointing - wish there were armoured vehicle convoys, choppers, walker gears etc just out and about. Just more life in the world besides the two-person trucks or whatever.

Did you try just to call in air strikes on every vehicle that owns you, also c4 the spots you know some of the transporters will stop helps.

I clocked in 30 hours already and I'm still on mission 15. I need to stop doing side ops before I get burnt out

Yeah, I've tried everything. I've looked up all kinds of different strategies but i just can't do it. I never expected to be suddenly and irreversibly locked into a mission I was completely unprepared for. Not only do I now have no way to complete the game but I don't even have the option to continue playing.

Well, despite it having a gameplay benefit, I could do without it. It's distracting. I wouldn't mind it if it were pleasant and soothing, like humming should sound but it just sounds unpleasant.

Yh it can get annoying, but If you use her properly she'll take people out for you (and won't be humming), heck she can even take out entire guardposts. Alot of people overlooked the Buddy Support tab in their iDroids, open that up and make her scout/attack places, she can be damn useful.

I've just completed side ops done on motherbase and found diamonds. I'm done for the day, how do I save my progress?

I don't want to go do a mission but every time if quit in this situation nothing is saved

Anyone got s quick and easy way to do mission 16?

I hate the
skulls

1. Kill everyone
2. Use quiet
3. Hide in sewer underneath fence
4. Lure skulls away (they walk away automatically
5 bombardment when they are away from truck

quiet can attack and they wont do anything against her so shes pretty much free to shoot as much as she wants

The air strikes arent necessary but they speed up the mission

They might occasionally use some attack that hits you but you can survive it

im on air hangar roof atm, cutscene hasn't begun yet. Is there anything I can do to make it easier?

I had the same issue on this mission. Thought it was a stealth one so went in with non-lethal weapons. Rolls into Mission 45 and you are stuck with the equipment they give you. If you restart the mission, it throws you back to the road leading into the camp and luckily I had a pre-built loadout that I used for boss/heavy vehicle missions so I was able to call in a loadout change.

There is way to get to the truck from the building behind. Have D-Horse as your buddy. Go around the airport base to where the truck with the skulls is at. Climb into the base from behind. Run to the truck. After the cutscene plays, fulton the truck, then run away with D-Horse. This is how I did after also having a terrible time with that mission

so I tranq'd 4 Skulls in one of the Main Missions but how do I extract them?...they can't be Fulton'd and I can't carry them either...is there no way of extracting them back to Mother Base?

If it's the one at the airport, I did it this way:
Destroy the escort tanks before they reach the airport with C4 or w/e, then the truck will drive out to another outpost. There will still be loads of soldiers around but if you get near enough to the truck the cutscene triggers, you can then lure the skulls away from the truck and call in an air strike to one-shot them. Then just drive away in the truck.

I love how there are so many different ways to approach mission 16.

i wish we had fighting between factions like in MGS4. Mujahideen versus russians etc.

I've headed straight to airport. Did I need to go to the truck first? To start the convoy?

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Yea just ride it through the forest for the most part, I don't think the skulls can actually destroy it.

For the Extreme variant? I'm sure they can if the
Quiet sniper fight
is any indication.

How the hell do I silently take out walkers? The pilots almost always wear helmets and sneaking and trying to grab them doesn't work most of the time.

Sneak up behind them, shoot them in the ass. Twice.

You need to have the truck be at the airport and not let it leave to the next location.

Edit: The maps have started to become so stale that I keep forgetting if I'm in Afghanistan or Africa.

So i wonder how much of the story in chapter 2 you can miss. Just went back the MB after doing some non-story side-ops and got the
Quiet interrogation, which seemed real out of place. No surprise Quiet has the English parasite in her either. The one with Eli is just an extra thanks to the kid.
It just seems oddly placed to me and possibly something you could miss if you didn't keep going back to MB after every 1-2 side ops.

Well shit.

After giving this game three different tries to click with me it finally did!

...then windows 10 shit the bed on me and I had to revert back to 8.1, forcing me to likely lose the 10 hours of progress I made on win10 ;_;

This game just doesn't want me to like it, lol....

I like it so much though that I'll just restart of if I have to, because I was likely going to replay those missions anyways to get better rankings...still, all those dudes I recruited are gone ;-;

Did Mission 8 bug out on me?
That Colonel and his tank unit just REFUSE to move after I scanned the plans. It's infuriating. I wanted to test those shiny new EM-Mines I just developed but those aren't exactly useful against a stationary vehicle :S

How exactly would that cause you to lose progress? Steam Cloud doesn't care about your OS.

After reading how many people had a problem with this, I am sure that I either did something that the mission hadn't been designed for, or the mission offers you an easy way to do it that people are missing.

At the location you spawn at, you can find an intel file that shows the convoy's route. Follow the route and you should see some guards positioned at a cross roads. After that point there is a small base that the convoy stops at. If it's dark / raining you can crawl up and fulton the tank at the beginning without anyone seeing. The Skulls seem to be even more blind than most guards, so you can crawl safely around them. You can fulton the truck, which will alert the Skulls, but then you can just sprint to the tank at the back, get in it, and drive out of the hot zone. The Skulls will chase you all the way and damage your tank pretty bad, but you should be able to make it out if you just keep on driving without trying to engage them

I feel like I need to replay the mission just in case what I did was a very unintentional fluke. People keep saying it was the most difficult mission in the game, I really hope not.

I just finished mission 50, am I correct in assuming that I
need to develop a nuke in order to get the second ending?

I figured the revert would kill everything, but I totally forgot about steam cloud

Fake edit: And Yeeees! My progress is still there! Thank gaben that went well...

Real edit: I was making this post as the game was loading up from my phone, hence the fake edit :p

Glad to see I wasn't totally fucked by my choice to jump the win10 bandwagon too early. In hindsight, doing it in the middle of a run of a long game was probably a dumbass choice on my end :p

The Skulls have bad vision. You can actually kite them around and eventually find an opening to fulton the supply truck, and getting spotted and chased by the skulls doesn't count against getting Foxhound rank.
