I'll disconnect from konmi servers then. I was worried that even this way I'd get shit stolen.

But what license agreement? You mean the one I got the very first time I turned on my game? Because now I only see online announcements when I turn it on.

I cannot believe I'm reading this game goes all the way to mission 45 and shit. 60 hours in and at M21 that's crazy talk

IIRC everytime I start the game online I get some kind of agreement, maybe because I always deny it keeps popping up, and yeah the game it's pretty huge xD

I don't quite understand the chapter 29 work around for using Quiet.

It mentions using an emblem. Does that mean the customization logo of the butterfly? It's there a significance of using, displaying those emblems? Also, something about bond level.

Yes, you can avoid doing the mission where your base is being invaded. But I advise doing it, then if you want just don't build an FOB base and that way you can't get invaded (it's not your main mother base)

But, if you want a trophy/achievement then you have to build a base, then invade someone. Also, I could be wrong but if you don't build beyond the main base then I don't think they can really steal anything other than some soldiers you have in your security team since the command base doesn't have any containers, so you can just dump crap soldiers into it.

Inside the game if good enough.
Ok so they only invade my FOBs but never my MB? It still sounds like a chore that I don't have the time to get into. This game is already filled to the brim of shit to do as it was!!! I defended my MB on Mission 22 but I was hoping that I could avoid that shit in the future (unless it was a forced story mission of course).

I build one FOB and I don't think I'll build another. The Coin requirement for additional ones is fucking crazy. I have 50 coins now and they ask for thousands. Fuck that shit.

Is there no way to get rid of Silent Basilisk? You get him in the Honeybee mission, and his stats are the worst on Mother Base, but he's locked down so I can't fire him. Did the mission and extracted him again, still had shit stats.

Yeah, it's your FOB base, not your actual MB. But what I meant was don't build upon your current FOB base, since its just one command platform, I think if you build other areas like R&D or Combat then storage containers of unprocessed materials will be sitting around and people can steal those and they will be ones that you've collected solo that haven't been processed yet.

How often will the game force me to do the deployement tutorial again? I've done it twice now and it just popped up again when I revisited motherbase <_<

Mission 45 spoilers:

This mission is frustrating and filled with stupid stuff.

Why start the mission at the guard post and make you think its an infiltration mission?

Why was Quiet captured and let herself get into a position to be tortured if she can disintegrate?

Why did the guard just flat out drown her?

Why do I get given a shitter rocket launcher than my own?

Where are these mid-field soldiers coming from?

Why is there so many fucking tanks?

Why does Ocelot keep poorly warning me about tanks instead of marking them like he's done in the past?

Why is this sandstorm cutting out my comms?

Why is this sandstorm taking so long to pass?

Why is snake worried about hiding when he's done this plenty of times now?

Why is the game trying to invoke tension when Snake could have CQC'd the lone guard with ease?

Why am I bitten now of all thing when I've spent the last 50+ hours crawling around?

How do the snakes fangs penetrate my armour?

Why does Quiet gave to assist Pequod when he can touch down in sandstorms at any other time?

How does Quiet even manage to guide Pequod to her?

Why is there another credits sequence?

But hey: Final mission time.

Where can I find the cybernetics and electrospinning specialists?

Cybernetics is in Mission 9:
Checkpoint 15 south of Wakh Sind. There a path just west of there that the prisoner is being chased through. Take D-Dog to sniff him out and go save him.

Is there a quick way to get fuel without doing FOBs? Any specific place that's guaranteed to have fuel containers?

There's usually a large fuel container in the African Airport.

Damnit I am terrible at this.

I have gotten B on every mission I've played (i'm up to episode 8) but I feel like I have definitely gotten better so I decided to go back to the first mission
where you rescue Kaz
and re-play it in order to get a better score. It took me 36 minutes and I got B again. Oh well. I better stop caring about how I get the job done or i'm not going to enjoy the rest of the game.

The game is pretty buggy. I was driving toward the facility in Mission 13 (2 km away) and got teleported instantly inside and got a cutscene off Snake turning off the security. WTF

Also got stuck in a story mission where the chopper would drop me off at the same place a tank side op was and would instantly get shot while going down the chopper and the checkpoint would replace me there.

It seems time is the main factor in getting a good rank. I went full rambo with a sniper rifle in a mission murdering everybody and putting the base on alert and got S.

Yesterday i finished mission 6 on more than 2 hours, I always get terrible scores, but i would be lying if I said I wasn't having a blast

The only thing I'm worried is if I have to do some kind of perfect score in the game, this one isn't easy at all

Rush to interrogate guards until they reveal objective location - rush towards objective - call chopper - complete objective in a rush - rush out - usually guaranteed S-rank.

Under 15 minutes is the biggest deal. Or over roughly 130k points. Saving prisoners and extracting objectives is a big help, too.

What platform? I'm around 50 hours in and havent seen a single bug this bad. Ps4 here.

If you have the (fulton variant spoiler)
wormhole fulton
then:

  1. Load up
    Mission 12, Hellbound
  2. Turn around and head back inside the building.
  3. Take out the 2 guards on the ground level.
  4. Run up to the top of the platform on the left and fulton out the containers.
  5. Drop down, run over to the right and grab the intel file.
  6. Let it save, then Start > Checkpoint.
  7. When it reloads, abort the mission and go back to the ACC.
  8. Rinse and repeat. 7500 unprocessed fuel in a couple of minutes.

Probably best to drop all your equipment as well to reduce deployment costs. Remember that you need to be out in the field for the game to process materials as well, they don't process in the ACC or on Mother Base.

I'd say definitely not. There is a small base that can be a bitch to infiltrate due to the sheer number of soldiers, though. But nothing on par with Volgin's fortress.

I love the game but having a few missions that took place in large fenced off areas like ground zeroes would have been nice.

Maybe mig story milestones or something. I honestly would have taken just one open world and 2-3 large enclosed "bases" to infiltrate. The two open worlds aren't different enough but those bases would have given some good variety.

IIRC mission 6 took me a really, really long time. Around 1:30-1:45. B rating.

I get frustrated because I feel like I could be "better" at the game, although its not like I'm not progressing through the game. But at the same time I am having a blast and have played nearly 20 hrs since Tuesday, which is a lot for me. Surely eventually I'll tighten my playing up and have some better success at overall stealth.

I generally have to abuse reflex to make it well in to the mission without causing an alert but sometimes I get busted trying to move or hide bodies, or I can't get to it and a guard spots it. Maybe I am spending too much time taking out guards and I should actually try to sneak past more? I'm not 100% sure how most people are playing through these missions.

Mission 12 is some bullshit. Took me forever to do it, then I drive out of the goddamn mission area right at the end and now I have to do the whole thing over again. Fuck all of this.

Wow! Just attempted to play and the game asks me to build an FOB. I choose one of the three choices and the game promptly freezez everytime.

Cant play.... 😢

Edit: D-pad it is then. 😉

If you have a certain late-game upgrade for your fulton, then go to Mission 12, Hellbound.
Turn around, take out the two guards, and climb up the stairs to your left and fulton them. Then go to the platform across the room and pick up the intel for a checkpoint. Restart mission, repeat.

Edit: and beaten while I was typing it up. Though you don't need to go to ACC. Restart works fine.

Exactly, I played all the metal gears except the portable ops and that always happen, have fun playing, eventually you will realize that you start to get better the more you play, then later if you can, you could go and make those perfect scores.

I'm having a really difficult time capturing the bases (stunning/sleeping everyone) since the AI is extremely good in this game...

Btw, fuck that target practice from R&D, I finished all exept that one. The place is a real labyrinth

You might not want to stress on rating your first time through a mission. Since you can redo them come back when you have better tools and are probably better at the game itself.

Quick question about Mission 8.

How the fuck am I supposed to destroy these tanks before they get to their destination? From what I can tell it takes all 4 c4 to destroy (not disable) one tank so I'd have to get a supply drop but after destroying the first one all hell breaks loose.

So, I just got to Mission 25 or so. Spoilers below.

So, I had to quarantine a bunch of dudes. I noticed that the common denominator was that everyone that was sick spoke the same two languages (outside of English) so I quarantined about 30 or so of them. I might have left some people behind that aren't in quarantine, but I spent like 20 minutes going through my staff, and I do NOT want to keep doing that right now. I'm assuming I should just barrel through the next few missions?

Also, I'm not maxed out with Quiet but I did just change my emblem to the butterfly. That prevents her from running off, and prevents the mission 29 bug from occuring, right?

Getting increasingly annoyed with this whole sandbox structure. Sucks so much when you only have an hour free time to play and end up wasting it all doing filler rescue/eliminate "story" missions.

I'd take the linear MGS1-4 structure over this any day.

You only need to destroy one to win. Use a missile launcher and keep calling supply drops. Come back later when you can fulton vehicles and the mission is really easy.

This game could have been a lot smoother if you could call in an extraction chopper to any point outside of base range and then fly to any lz.

If you interrogate people one should tell you about an armoured vehicle parked somewhere.

So... I'm guessing the rain scene everyone is talking about is where
Quiet goes all nekkid and rolls around on the ground? The hell am I watching

Was getting caught part of your plan?

The butterfly thing has nothing to do with the 29 bug. It's actually semi-plot related for the late game missions

The butterfly emblem does not prevent the mission 29 bug from happening, that can happen just from using her. Use another buddy. D-Walker makes it a walk in the park.

The basic GROM missile launcher takes 4 (2 from behind) missiles to destroy a tank. It has 8 rockets. Def. possible. Also you can keep lobbing grenades. Also grenade launchers. It's still a pain in the ass in the beginning of the game until you have good anti-vehicle weapons.

Have fun with Mission 9 btw :)

That won't work before he got the Transportation Specialist in

Mission 45 is driving me insane.

I spawned into the mission with my sneaking set which is basically all tranq and distraction tools and then they give me a shit rpg instead of one of the way better ones I have. The bullshit though is how there are so many fucking tanks and if the soldiers on the ground catch you with a stray bulllet than a tank kills you in one hit even with battle armor on. Fuck this shit the checkpoint takes you back like 10 tanks and a chopper to go.

Thanks to both of you guys. Don't have that particular upgrade yet but when I do I will be using this method.
