I've just come here to post this the following:

Fuck mission 16.

Thank you, thats is all.
im amazed so many people tried to fight the skulls. Especially when Miller says "next time you see the skulls don't engage. Just run" the last time you see them.

I fought the skulls. I won. S rank for days

I knew there was a reason I always bring a recoilless rifle with me.

Funny enough, I only won (and got an s-rank to boot) when I decided I'd try to fight them with the best tools at my disposal. The most destruction I could cause was with D-Walker. Skulls got wasted.

Gen X

Trust no one. Eat steaks.
From the looks of it - (and I may be wrong) but anything missable in missions seems possible to get by replaying the missions so that's good.

I plan to scour for all the hidden secrets after I'm done though!

My big anxiety is that I won't develop the intended weapons and gadgets. It seems like that could seriously Impact how missions play out

I noticed that last night (have only finished 2,3,4,6 & 7) and one of the next missions it says that a particular weapon I don't yet have is highly recommended. Given that I have no GMP left I need to start nailing some more Side Ops. Plus my R&D is at max staff 30/30.

On another note, the other day I saw someone post here about infection on Motherbase. Well last night when I was reading bits on all the staff at my MB I noticed it said one guy was unsanitary and didn't wash his hands which causes sickness among staff so I dismissed him, just to be sure.

In mid 20's now... only thing I've found not fun is a certain gameplay departure on motherbase.

Going through your list of 500+ crew for everyone who speaks Kikongo is like doing fucking accounting. Please, Kojima, why. Why why why.

Yep.

As I said above on the last page, why the fuck don't we have
a 'Sort > All Staff > Language' option.

Edit: FYI, you can check multiple boxes at once, then send
them all to Quarantine
, so that saves some time.

D - Don't you say those words...
FUUUUUCCKKKKK MMMEEEE TENDERLY

This happened to me man. It was a total clusterfuck. I extracted one of those guys flawlessly, despite the nightmarishly ingeniously hard guard placement, then ended up having to kill everyone in the base to find the other guy.

15 mins later, having gone all the way into the ruins and all the way out and every corner of the big-ish base, still not found the guy, I call in D-Dog.

The guy pops up in the very same cabin as the other dude, but it was so dark I couldn't see him...

Does Africa become better later on? After two or three missions I feel that it's so much uglier and boring than Afghanistan.

There are locations as it goes along which are total stand-outs, at least on par with Afghanistan. One of them I think is better than anything I've seen in Afghanistan.

I've never felt like Big Boss as much as I did when I rescued the child soldiers. On a moonlit night with the kids following me, PFs not much farther behind, all my supressors spent and Quiet covering my ass from afar.. and that mad dash to the chopper.. it was like out of a dream.

I just used some rockets and some running around. Didn't even have any support, as Quiet was useless in that situation. Even had to actually air drop in the rockets AND extra ammo

How are people having trouble with this mission?

I just dropped in my gold-plated tank. (this was after fultoning out the truck) Took a couple minutes and it was hectic as hell but it worked.
Quiets silenced tranquilizer rifle is getting made.

I pretty consistently have a team running the helmet distribution mission so that she can go to town with it. So good.

Combine that with a silenced tranq rifle of Snake's own, and you have one hell of a one-two punch. Guards will just be flailing around, trying to shoot at everyone and everything as you calmly needle them all in the skull.

It's great.

I'm not high enough for that yet but I'm looking forward to it. I've got my eye on it.

I think it's pretty ugly at night but pretty by day.

I'm always lurking in the night-time shadows, waiting to be spotted by an unsuspecting soldier who is then inevitably and horribly incapacitated by visual contact of my sheer beauty

I don't usually get bothered by this stuff, but oh wow how overdone Quiets looks and behavior towards Boss are. Talk about shoving her into your face to be ogled at from different angles just because boobs and ass. I don't see Kojima actually justifying this shit like he has claimed he will in the game.

Misson 6: Where do the bees sleep

Man that mission is some kind of special, I am absolutely blown away by the level design, Wow. Although the boss fight isn't that challenging, it is still an awesome fight.

I must say I'm pleased that the game recognizes no-alarm+no-kills over use of continues.
Because that's how I usually play MGS games. Restart zone until it's a perfect sneak-through, captured the most relevant guards/items etc.. It's also a bit easier to handle than in GZ as it's more obvious where the "zones" for the continues are (like in older MGS games).
Being split up in missions helps with getting S rank in some parts of the game first try while still having the option to go guns-blazing in vehicle destruction missions etc (which would have ruined my no-alarm playthroughs in older MGS games).

However, being such a big game by itself, perfectionism will ruin me lol. Takes ages for me to progress especially as I also want to collect everything and do the micromanagement stuff "I'm missing some minor metal for the next platform, well, maybe I should capture this base in free roam while I'm at it..."

I haven't got any Quiet upgrades myself, but for my own Sniper I
customized the first Tranq one to use a silencer
, you can do that after a specific Side ops.

My silencer on my trenq. handgun wears off realy fast. Any way to upgrade it?

You need to build guns with better surpressors and then go into the customize weapon menue and choose the new supressor for your weapon.

How to get the customize weapon option:

You need to do three quests where you find the legendary gunsmith, it's in the Side-Ops.

Anybody else that plays with mouse and keyboard have this:

Sometimes when I use the number keys to activate/deactivate my night vision goggles, It suddenly selects the box instead. It isn't a huge problem, but does get kinda annoying sometimes. Am I pressing something wrong here?

I crawled like a motherfucker and once I reached the truck I called for a bomb support and then waited for a sec to Fulton the truck away. I did all this after the skulls passed the tank. Killed the mofuckas

Question is there more than one of each type of specialist available? I just got a specialist I needed in
Mission 11
but I let him die by accident -.- Hopefully I'll still be able to craft the blueprints that required him later on by getting another of that specialist.

After missions 19,
just had Huey set up shop in the R&D platform to start building his Battle Gear. Glad there's another thing going on at Mother Base now, I pretty much just resorted to only ever going on the Medical platform for Paz and Quiet.

I fought them with a grenade launcher, an rpg and one of the tanks that's sitting there. That truck was mine and those fuckers weren't standing in my way.

It was fairly easy with the tanks around. They gave 50000 points and I got S rank.

Mission 50 is the last one. 51 was unfinished and only available in YouTube form. What do you think you are missing?
My combat deployment is yellow with a mission called "crush the drug cartel" but it wont let me do it as it says i don't have any fighting vehicles. Where do i get a fighting vehicle from?
