31 isn't hard, is it?
I think I only got hit by one of those mountains once, had a 3 star launcher that I spammed him with and ran around the mountain, shotgunning the kid when he appeared.

it's about the thread title. there are people (like me) that don't want to know that the second half is
underwhelming, unfinished, whatever
. Additionally we have a thread with the title:
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's Chapter 2 Is Utter Garbage (Spoilers)
Well, I don't like that thread either, it's also rather judgemental and aggressive. But I don't think the mere notion that the game is missing something is a spoiler.

I'm not looking to go into those threads but I'm curious are the complaints about the second half of the game story related or gameplay related? Anyone responding should probably use spoiler tags I guess.
More story than gameplay. There is gameplay missing, but it's okay. The game is solid as it is. But the real atrocity is the missing story that ia essential, both for V and for the whole franchise.

I want more Missions like 28.
Great fight in the woods and then an infiltration of something that is not a super generic military camp/base.

Is there a trophy for maxing all S.Links ? I don't wanna look because of Spoilers.

No, just individual ones for D-Dog, Quiet and D-Horse

Man the (chapter 2 replay mission 40 spoilers)
the Quiet fight is so bullshit!

Supply drop to the head. After the first one, you'll need to expose yourself to her (in a manner of speaking) to make her take aim then take a box to the head

I'm kinda really worrying here. Was playing the game when a complete power outage happened. Waiting for it to come back on...and hoping my autosave didn't get corrupted. Don't really want to do those 65 hours (or some of those missions) again.

thanks, well it's not that hard anyway.

I wouldn't worry too much, it'll be at most one mission if nothing at all.

Mission 18...

I do the annoying escort mission and get all the kids to the chopper...Only to not notice how close the enemy chopper was, which proceeds to blow me up as I am loading the kids on board.

Time to call it a night!

Someone earlier said you only need to load one kid and can even get an S by only loading one.

I suppose the structural difference is that they are in closed off areas, whereas side-ops aren't. And that's fair enough. That makes a lot of sense from level design/game design perspective.

Indeed. The structure of this is pretty unique and requires quite a few design elements to be reconfigured to make it work. Making the base-building aspect so central is the really big obvious difference maker; I suspect most designers would have broken it off into a sub-mode completely separate from main story/mission construction, but Kojima has kind of gone the opposite route in breaking up the story into individual episodic chunks.

The credits before and after each mission suggest to me that long-term he may have planned to hand it off to other people to expand on it piecemeal. It may still happen if the underlying mission scripting system is robust and easily extensible.

People have kind of fixated on the number of times Kojima's name crops up in the credits, but his role(s) isn't the only one credited repeatedly.

I put !Spoilers! twice in the title and dedicated the first paragraph to what this thread is about and that spoilera are ahead. It would be clear if you would just read the OP.

I also explained why I decidee to make the thread. The Spoiler thread is about everything, but this topic is a beast for itself.
There's really no reason for 3 separate spoiler threads, two with vaguely insinuating titles, less than a week from release. People wouldn't have read and responded to your rant in the official thread?

Trust me, I'm going into a GAF-free bunker once Fallout 4 hits.

Yup, just make sure the other don't die since that ends the mission. I went in, tranqued myself through the camp, put C4 on the AA radar. After I got yhe kids out of the jail I called in a launcher, destroyed the AA via C4 and called the chopper directly into the base. Called a launcher, destroyed the enemy gunship and carried the one kid to safety. The new helicopter landing zone is directly in front of the entry of the jail.

Did I rant? And yes, it was discussed in the spoiler thread, but this issue is too big to be contained with other issues and discussions.
It's literally not an ingame spoiler because the stuff didn't make it ingame. That's the trouble.

So can someone help me out with a quiet question?
i just finished 40 and im wondering where the final point of no return on losing her is. Yes i have the emblem set if that actually does anything but lets say it dosent. How far can i go before shes gone. Id like to know so i can make a usb backup ,then complete the game and then restore the save so we can continue to dual snipe the world.

Can you subnormals stop making threads with vague spoilers in the thread title? MGSV IS A TAD BIT UNFINISHED ~~~SPOILERS~~~~ CHAPTER 2 OF MGSV IS UTTER GARBAGE.

There are a half dozen fucking threads to discuss this game in. Not everyone wants to have to read a thread title that discusses what is coming up further in the game.

Agreed. It really makes me want to avoid GAF during big releases from now on. :/

I had the exact same thing happen, lol. I thought it was over and wasn't paying much attention to playing at the time before I realized what was actually happening.

And...yeah. Though it atleast shows Take On Me's superiority.

I'm asking here as well in case someone knows: What is a good way to get some easy S-Rank soldiers?

Get your heroism up. Best way to do that I've found is FOB infiltration, just pick ones with low security and hope they don't join. Then there will be more out in the field and can get S ranks to volunteer if you do their command platform.

Yep, I got confused by that!
Once I loaded the one kid that was necessary for the mission to complete, I should have just left. Instead I attempted to put the other 3 (or 4?) kids on... :(

Oh so that is what heroism governs? I have been wondering. So me continuing with side ops and the last few optional difficult missions should also level that up. i#d do FOB infiltrations if there servers were not so fickle.

Does anyone know how to deal with the enemies
in full armour?
More and more keep popping up, and the more they do the less fun this game gets. I really need a way of dealing with them.

Stuck on mission 16. I can't
get away from the skulls.
how can I improve my mother base support unit level to upgrade the Fulton to lift heavy cargo? Stuck on level 14 (requires 16) and cant find soldiers to improve the rating.

You can send your Combat teams out and there should be an option to hit their supply of armor (and helmets, shields etc)

You also may have to mix up your play style a little. If you go for headshot/tranq kills, you will hit troubles with soldiers armored up.

You then have two other options - big and loud (Rockets/Grenades) or a takedown and choke.

Are people really that dense to make all those MGSV threads ? Holy shit, please some mods should lock those fucking threads.

Yeah it's weird. Especially two more spoiler heavy threads when there is a perfectly fine spoiler thread. I always just assume these people need the attention they feel they won't get in the other threads.

Move some soldiers around manually, even if only temporarily. Get your level up to 16. Then move them back to where you got them from.

Speaking of heavy cargo, how do i extract via shipping container? I climb on top try to place my balloon in the center of the container but i slip off every time.

Side ops do level, but it's pretty slow. The main missions, even repeating them, would probably be faster.

The servers were a lot better last night. Got at least 30 infiltrations in and the only disconnect I had was my own internet dropping. Sometimes it says I can't connect to the server repeatedly, but closing and restarting the game got it working again.

Not tried, but someone mentioned pressing triangle again to hold on while it was rising.

I am not sure on that one to be honest, never done it myself

I think I've seen a few post suggesting you have to fulton and then press Y (or triangle) to grab on. I think?

Hm, I wonder if I should focus on the story a little more. Finished missions 8/9/10 last night and on one of those missions it was a bummer because it was an entire base I just cleared in a side op.

Thanks for the Combat Team advice - I'll do that. I'd forgotten about that - only ever used it to get rid of helmets.

And yeah, I play as a tranq guy, like 90% of people, I'd wager. I'm not adverse to going big and loud either, and always carry a launcher for when things get hairy. But there are times when you absolutely can't sneak behind a guy because he's backed up but also can't afford to cause an alert and those are the times I'm struggling with.

But can you confirm that
guns do nothing against the armour?

Funny enough, I only won (and got an s-rank to boot) when I decided I'd try to fight them with the best tools at my disposal. The most destruction I could cause was with D-Walker. Skulls got wasted.

But how do you hide from them? The fuckers won't stop chasing!?!?!!? whhahaaaaaa :'(

Cleared a mine clearing side op by tossing magazines into the field and watching as Soviet conscripts continually wandered into the field looking for me

Ok, I'll give that a shot, I tried last night after clearing out an air field only to slip off, die, and reset everything.
