Finally 100%, damn it took awhile.

Congrats!

I should get there in a week and a half I reckon. Going for S ranks and all the mission objectives is a lot of fun.

How can you beat Quiet Extreme with non-lethal weapons and close quarter combat?
The crate trick doesn't work anymore (I know it works but I can't make it work apparently, even forcing her to shoot me while the timer is 10 or so).

I think i cheated on this mission lol.

I first zerged it with a Sniper and got a S ranking, then i went back to get that objective ( non-lethal, no guns blah blah)

What i did, was spawn with the Shield, right at the start mark her with the binos then drop a crate on her head. About 10seconds after i order it in, i then order in a Rain support strike to make it rain. Quiet starts dancing and the box will hit her everytime.

So, mark, call in box ON her, call in rain, box hits her and she moves. After the box hits here turn the weather to clear, then rinse and repeat. Also use Noctocyanin to be able to see her easily, so she won't pick you off before marking her, if you have to reposition, make sure your shield is up otherwise she will kill you.

I felt like i was cheating, but i got tired of dieing because I'm impatient and brainstormed the situation

How do you boost your combat deployment soldiers? the highest win percentage i can get is 75 percent, which in this game is a guaranteed failure.

Sending them on missions levels them up, but the best way is to just fulton better soldiers and kick the others into the ocean.

I think I still can't call for rain. How can I do that? It's strange, anyways, I developed pretty much all weapons, I have all key items, but I never changed weather.
I S ranked this mission shooting her with a tank, anyway, so I took no damage :D

Call in an air strike with sleeping gas.

Then keep popping in and out of cover to distract her so she doesn't notice and run away, works really well.

It can work, that's how I did this mission. I call a resupply, wait the timer at 10 or so, get up and let her shoot. That way she'll get hit by the crate while reloading. You can take a shield if you're not confident to dodge the bullet but it can be done without it.

Rocket punch with d dog to find her after every attack.
Get near her, rocket punch, after her. If she stop in ground level, ounch her in the face. If she's far, hide and rocket punch.

I think I'm done...I managed to unlock side ops 150 / mission 45, but to my amazement 46 unlocked at the same time (I thought I would have to partake in some hardcore grinding to unlock it)

Only horrible part was having to
play through that damn prologue again
:(

Ive seen the true ending now...so I can quit a happy man

MGSV PC question: the game has frozen when I'm 2/3 of the way through a mission (had 3 targets and have extracted 2 of them). It's not the FOB thing as I haven't gotten that far yet, and the whole computer hasn't crashed as I can alt-tab out. Is there any way to recover or will I have to start this mission again?

You'll go back to your checkpoint, which is when the yellow icon appears in the top right. Some missions don't save at all tho..

I got close enough and used sleep grenades from cover.

Well, I did it, crate support trick. I timed well and I managed to hit her until she was defeated, I got a crappy rank because she always hide in the tower on the left and support can't hit her here, but it really doesn't matter since I already S ranked all missions and I'm going to furfill al tasks. Still 31 missions remaining :S

I don't know why, but D-Dog does literally nothing here. Never managed to find her, and Rocket Punch goes out of reach after some meters for me.

DLCs are probably paid stuff.

Nope, it's not worth, honestly.
It's the same one you can find for free on Steam, the Legacy video, if you own the PC version. Otherwise, just go with Youtube. It's not even a making of, but a "how Kojima is great" video, I'm not kidding.

thanks for the heads up.

Was really wondering how they included a making off with all the shit that happened between konami/kojima. And was interested if it really was a proper documentary a la MGS4.

Nope, it's not, they don't talk at all about how they made the game.

Probably just lag, that's why whenever i stun someone now i just shoot them right in the head with a sniper while they are on the ground. 50% of the time they get up before the Fulton completes anyway so it's better to be safe than have them lag shoot you to death.

Episode 30:

Got to Ep: 30 yesterday which seems just like a build up for what I assume is the boss battle in EP: 31. Pretty funny how when "Sins of the Father" starts playing, my wife looks up expecting some grandiose moment and she basically goes "this music is really dramatic for a car ride."

really spot on, tbh that scene was not so well handled, because of the pacing of the music in tone with the event and because of how
Snake reacts to that well made speech of skull face, he basically ignores him ha ha ha

Yeah...
I always look forward to the implementation of the vocal tracks, and this was probably the most disappointing for me considering I think it's one of the stronger tracks in the series. It's especially a let down coming off of the great use of Heavens Divide and even Love Deterrence in Peace Walker.

What?

I thought the use of music during the jeep ride was perfect.
He tells you about his plan to use language as weapon and a song about "Words that Kill" kicks in.
To me that was nothing short of awesome.

It's about the all-encompassing issues that entire sequence has, which is made into a satire of itself once
Sins of the Father
kicks in. The fact that
Snake awkwardly uses the same animations for his chopper ride, disconnected from Skull Face's speech from apparently having hit the Phantom Cigar one too many times, really hurts any buildup this scene would have.

If the scene was directed with cut camera angles and some reactions from Snake, it wouldn't have been perceived to be so terribly done. For a game that prides itself on cinematic flair, the most important scene in the plot had all the elegance of a few middle schoolers reenacting bad 80s movie sequences in their back yard with a handheld camcorder.

Timing was great. What was actually happening and what the characters were doing when it played was jarringly at odds. I guess he was trying to hit that MGS3 ladder moment but it fell quite a bit short.

Don't get me wrong, love the game. This is just one of a couple of minor missteps for me.

FINALLY got the damn interrogation side objective in Lingua Franca done. I don't know what I did differently, but at least it triggered. Now I just have to wait for the materials containers to respawn...

So I can't boot my game up on PC. Played the first few missions a couple of weeks back so the game definitely works.

When I click 'Play', a non-Steam text panel pops up saying:

The server is not reachable, check your Internet connection and click "Retry".

In case the problem persists, click "Next" to open the support website in the default browser.

- If I click Retry, it fails again.
- If I close the window, nothing happens.
- If I click Next, it takes me to a dodgy fucking website and prompts me to put in some massive dump of coded text which appeared in a new text window. It's not a secure website and Chrome flipped out about it. My antivirus software said nothing, though.

No idea WTF is going on here - seems like I've been virused to hell and back - but other people online (eg on Steam forums) seem to have had the issue subside quite quickly.

Just going to try rebooting my router and PC. Will report back.

Edit: all my other Steam games work fine and going Offline changes nothing

Ugh don't get me started on that bull crap objective haha, I don't even want to know how many times i had to re-do it.

Whew, what a ride.

It's been a month, but I finally finished this game. 80 hours and 55%.

Loved the ending and how it connects the series. But did not like the final mission. Anyway, the game is still a GOTY of his own, 80 hours of fun, and I still want to keep playing.

Congrats!

Just hit a month of nonstop play myself today, 65 hours and still only on like Ch. 35 or so :/

I was so dissapointed there wasn't a Hind-D boss battle at the top of the elevator shaft.

I liked it. Would have been more profound if we didn't already know what the "master plan" was though. If at that moment everything was pieced together instead of doing so through
Code Talker.

The vocal cord parasites are a pretty complex concept though so unless Skull Face was going to deliver the biology lesson (which isn't his style) it would have been too confusing to be a part of the scene.
Still I found the moment thought provoking
regarding the importance of language as a paramount structure of culture and society.

Is it fine to just keep one Weapon Specialist in a field? Like one Shotgun Specialist and one Assault Rifle Specialist? Do I need to keep all of them in contract?

Holy shit I just read about a meta-game going on relating to a possible super-secret ending. Apparently fans have found in the game files a scene that saya that
the world is free from nukes. No one has managed to get this scene but there is speculation that it would unlock if no player were in possession of a nuke. So some players have banded together, trying to steal all the nukes they can from other players so they can dismantle them.
Sounds impossible if you ask me, but also super cool

You know... If we hadn't had P.T. I'd write this entirely off as another inane fan conspiracy theory.

Having had P.T., I think there's a modicum of possible truth to it

The scene in question is out there on youtube, so it definitely exists. Whether that's how you have to unlock it though (or whether it is at all possible) is another question.

Where is this info at?
