Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain |OT2| A Franchise Robbed Of Its Future

Silly question but were can u find the tapes I've gathered to listen too? Can seem to find them

In the cassette menu of your iDroid, just to the right of the map. Note that there's several submenus for the story tapes, music tapes, and environment tapes.

Protip: You can skip lines with the fast forward button in the control menu for the music, plus set music on speaker so enemies can hear it. (Believe it, this has uses.)

PS3, and PS4 has 43 trophies (42 normal and 1 platinum). So only X1 has these extras achievements.

that is really weird. Wonder if they were even supposed to be in the game to begin with...maybe xbox one challenges that accidentally got made achievements? lol idk

Wow, the
sniper Skulls fight
in Mission 28 was some real bullshit. Is there anyone here who did that pure stealth?

Bring Quiet.

I basically had Quiet for the first part, then after she was too injured to continue brought in D-Dog, then Quiet again after she recovered from the sick bay. I don't see how she's enough to completely distract all of them from seeing you

Same. But she put in WORK before her demise. Killed one, and softened up two others nicely.

Currently episode 34 but I came here to talk about how I suffered in 16

My Fulton didn't have the last upgrade nor my rocket launcher had lock-on

I guess you can tell how I suffered and finished the mission after all..

Now tell me guys, how did you finish episode 16?

I had neither of those too. Tried a ton of things from using mines/C4/Rocket Launcher to blow up the escorting tanks but always got killed by the Skulls. Eventually I triggered the Skulls to pop when they stopped for a break at that camp in the middle and ran as fast as I could away from the camp to isolate the skulls from the other soliders, then hop on my D-walker to mow down the skulls. Strangely enough all the soliders seem to be gone after I return to the camp (it was nighttime but it almost felt like a bug) so I just had to drive the truck outta there. I have to say tho compared to my assault rifles and rocket launcher the D-walker's Gatling gun made it a lot easier to kill the Skulls.

I did. But I didn't kill any of them (I'm not even sure if you can do that on stealth). Basically what I did was going around the edges crouching and crawling, then up the mountain (in the cracks the mountain has). DD helped a bit, finding the enemies (even though with the skulls it's not 100% guarantee, they lose the mark after a while). It was surprisingly easy, but then again, maybe I got lucky.

Yup. S Rank pure stealth on that mission. I just walked down the cliff on the right hand side and never ran into any anyone at all lol.

50% completion in MGSV feels more like 200% completion in a regular ass video game. This is bonkers massive. Still haven't beaten the main campaign yet!

I cheesed it. Went invisible the whole way to the mansion. Went invisible the whole way to the chopper. No care. The snipers are bullshit perceptive otherwise lol.

I wish people would stop bringing the completion up as "wow I played 183787 hours and only 10% done!"

it counts everything

every single fuel resource

every S rank on every mission

Changed my helicopter music to 'Kids In America' on a whim right before Mission 18. Turned out to be quite a poignant choice by the end when it came to pick me up.

Statistically, I wonder how many people wear both the sneaking suit and the bandana. I certainly am.

Mission 21 is giving me way more trouble than it should. I had a perfect run before and then stretched my luck by trying to Fulton a walker after is completed the objective. Ended up getting shredded by the gunship and snipers - now I just keep fucking it up every time.

So in Mission 16 I'm trying to
fight the skulls. One of the times I killed all ed but one (maybe the leader?) but failed.

One problem I'm having is I'm running around the house trying to fight them but snakes health won't regenerate. Maybe because I'm sprinting? When does his health regenerate? Also should I just run away?

I'll tell you what I've told everyone else.

Get in the D-Walker. Equip it with gatling guns. Smash through the chainlink fence on the airport's perimeter. Get to the truck. Hop out. Fulton it. Hop back in.

Annihilate the Skulls.

My chopper music has been Maneater. Might not ever change lol. Gotta have that smooth ass funk as you're getting lit up at the LZ.

I'm not gonna lie. Those pictures of Quiet are only validating her... behaviours around the Boss.

Anyone who says she's not a total fan service character... Just wait until you go to land at mother base and it's raining. That's all I'll say.

I used the
stealth camo. Just skipped the whole snipe fight in 2 min. At first i was going to try a legit sniper battle but suppressors are fucking useless and Quiet loses full health very quickly. Theres also a good chance i just suck and didn't explore enough

Yesterday I tried extracting an Okapi in Africa, and I swear to got this thing took over a hundred rubber bullets to go down. I thought it had glitched into invincibility or something. I was just standing there, emptying Riot SMG magazines into it point blank. Gave me Peace Walker boss flashbacks.

sniper tranq to head

it sure is big, i'd just meassure it otherwise

when you completed the main stuff in GZ you got like 7% completion

by the same reasoning you'd be arguing that game was huge too :p

Hahaha that's true... And GZ was laughably small.

Statistically, I wonder how many people wear both the sneaking suit and the bandana. I certainly am.

I was so stoked when I saw it unlock for R&D. Kinda amusing it takes 35min for them to make it though.

To anyone having trouble with the
Skulls
:

Use an anti-material weapon. You can defeat them in 2-4 shots. They don't count as kills, and you can still Fulton them.

Get on the far right across the water and crawl until you find an incline to climb the hill on the sniper side and just take your time and crawl. S ranked that sucker and I thought I would fail for sure.

So that mission 29, got to get better equipment for that one. Time to grind I guess.

Yo give me dat bandana how!

I'm OCD when it comes to colors, so I don't pair the default sneaking suit with the bandana. I DO pair it with the Ground Zeroes sneaking suit since they both have the blue-greyish color. There's no blue-grey on the newer sneaking suit, and I'm not so attached to Solid Snake to desire to recreate the look. It's nice that it's there though.

Post Mission 25:
Fuck the disease and the sheer number of guys on my base. Well over 200 guys in quarantine now thanks to a disease that spreads my language. Thematically cool, but a shit ton of busy work and a way to cut the base's numbers if you aren't quick.

Looks like I'll be doing the next few missions in order until a solution presents itself.

Quick question about unlocking the last 2 missions - do they have different side op/main mission requirements? I did everything for 45 except for
getting rid of Huey
(I guess it'll be a cutscene when I return to Mother base?), but if that's the case I don't think I understand how can some people unlock 46 before 45.

Yeah, always thinking the same.

When you have 30 hours played and it only says 20%, I can be, that you will be finished after 40 hours and 30%.

Doesn't mean, you will need 150 hours(because 20% x 5 = 100, so 30 hours x 5).

Don't like how you have to go back to the ACC after completing a side op of a certain type to get the next op of that type to show up.

Um, Post-mission 25 spoilers:
Do I just quarantine everyone who has Kikongo and Afrikaans as their language? Because people keep dying.

It's just Kikongo, but you're going to want to bee-line the next few story missions before doing anything else. Time moves forward with every mission, so you want to get this resolved quickly.

SO
Can I get locked out of the true ending? Please spoil. Im at 38-40 unlocked with 3 gold side missions, and I did everything else so far. How do I avoid screwing myself over?

45 needs max bond with Quiet and theres a way to prevent it popping up
