Microsoft Conference: Will they Bring It Like Sony Did?

Its a tough and loaded question? I dont believe that they will compete with Sony on this one. Im sure they will try to lure the hardcore gamer in on it but there has to be a multimedia focus on their part as well.

I feel like Sony is the winner as far as the hardcore gamer goes. Time will tell.

Will they bring it like Sony did?

Maybe they'll actually show the console

/sarcasm

Microsoft is such a hard read for me. The leaked specs say to me that they're going full on casual with an all-in-one style box, but I doubt they're dumb enough to just concede the core market. We'll see. I think they'll have cool OS stuff regardless.

Fuck Yeah!

They'll have a World 1st unveiling of the console with Kanye West (or some other casual famous A lister) performing live to Just Dance 5. Now with the all new Kinect 2.0!

Just like fucking E3.

And the core gamer dies a little bit more inside.

No, as most people expect, they'll bring more Kinect. They've done NOTHING these past few years to dissuade anyone of their current direction. Just look at how they've approached Surface and Win 8. It'll be that same shit.

In my opinion, the general consensus among developer's is-

Microsoft will under cut Sony significantly on price, services, and launch title games. Also I wouldn't be surprised if I were to see a COD exclusivity agreement of some sort. E3 Megatonz baby, bring it on.

It really depends on how they approach it. All the hardcore gamers are going to be staying up to watch the liveblogs/video streams, but from what we know they'll be pushing it as a multimedia console and talking about the deals they've made and why everyone should have on in their living room. That's going to piss off the gamers who are staying up to see what the next Xbox can do gaming wise, which may cause some momentary online backlash. It'll go over well in the press, though. Then again, they have to talk about it now and not at E3, as that is even more of a gaming show.

Either way it'll be really interesting.

I'm not of the opinion that SONY "brought it" but I am excited to see what Microsoft has to offer. I'm pumped to see what they do.

Won't be hard to top killzone as an exclusive and the third party stuff will be very similar , watch dogs , destiny etc

Cheaper price will trump better graphics , just as it always has. All systems will have "hardcore gamers".

Probably more casual stuff with an emphasis on Kinect, more Wii ripoff junk, a boatload of new crap thrown onto the already overbloated UI, less and less about games, emphasis on a new Xbox as an entertainment console, etc.

Sony brought it?

As for Microsoft, I think they will do a good job. If they focus more than 2% of their time on Kinect, then they should just hara-kiri themselves though.

These events are just a precursor to a bigger event which is E3. Just some specs, os features, and games. E3 will have pricing, launch dates, and more games. You don't show your whole hand before a big event.

I'm sure they had a decent plan in place, and in reaction to the PS4 announcement they will spin it as best they can. I think the answer is yes.

Their show will be way more impressive, but Sony will win E3.

At this point, I think any of the three can "take" E3. I mean, Nintendo already said they are bringing the big guns.

Epic reveals, fanboy tears, GIFs everywhere. This E3 will be one for the ages.

I don't think the Sony Conference was that exciting, its cool to see next gen games but it just didn't feel that exciting - graphics can only do so much. I hope Microsoft has something a bit different (not just kinect)

I still think sony presser wasn't that impressive.
I thought they absolutely nailed the hardware, OS and vision. 10/10 in that regard

Software is what I think disappointed some people. But I'm not surprised they didn't blow their load all at once

I like PS4's tech, but the event was terrible. The presenters were...ugh. Especially, the Debbie downer guy talking about Infamous. Whole show just felt half-assed and everyone looked like they didn't give a shit to be there (except the Capcom guy).

MS can easily make the next Xbox sound amazing vs. Sony's poor performance. Loud and in ya face! Lol

Nintendo has nothing on new consoles. Hardware always wins E3... unless you are as bad as Nintendo was at E3 2012.

I hope so.
Both should have to fight for us. :)

But what i'm sure is that they'll have 3rd-party megatons and that some people are really underestimating them.
That's good for them because that's why these anouncements will make even a bigger boom as they "normally" would.

I still think sony presser wasn't that impressive.

Sony's event was ok, still seemed like they jumped the gun and let people know about the system before they could show off what its capable of game wise, completely missed what its capable of media wise.

I'm hoping that the MS event will be far enough into the development of the system that we will actually see more games running on the darn system.

Unless they have a some interesting new IP's and Rare makes some sort of substantial appearance, I really don't expect much of anything to get me interested in the Durango, and I say this as someone who didn't feel the PS4 conference was a runaway success either.

I can appreciate the people who weren't impressed by the Sony conference.. But clearly it was not generally regarded as a failure, it was regarded as "solid". You could do worse.

MS is a toss up like what others said. I feel they might go multimedia but at the same time will probably go all out with games.

Part of me feels they could show off fallout 4

I don't think sonys was that impressive. Shooter, racer, final fantasy, crash bandicoot style game. No console, no actual services listed, just a lot of talk. Didn't impress me. I want hard evidence, not promises and ideas

It was just a solid tech sheet, with exciting potential

I feel most people, myself included felt that the hardware was very impressive and some of the social features they touched upon could be great, but the software shown was very 'your mileage will vary'. Knack could go either way, bleh at another Killzone, we didn't see enough of Infamous to form much of an opinion beyond that... bizarre opening speech and the 3rd party showings were similarly a very mixed bag.

Going off the rumors of Durango still being very Kinect focused, less powerful than the PS4 and Microsoft in general having far less of a focus on IP's than Sony/Nintendo beyond Halo I really don't expect much of anything to interest me coming from them. Not for the launch period anyways.

I'm keeping my expectations low.

Not for the console. I have high expectations it'll be awesome. But MS will want to cater entirely to the mainstream. I expect the Xbox press conference to be all about services, partnerships, and the evolution of Kinect.

I don't think it will be much different form what Sony did. Both Sony and MS will probably wait til E3 to blow everything out.

they didn't?

Until this moment, the system appears to be everything gamers wanted.

I mean... lol, you know what? There's no point talking to blind and deaf people.

Enjoy your kinect 2.
