I'm pretty happy with it too man but...it's definitely over hyped and over marketed since it's got way too many quirks for a 500+ Eurodollars chair.
- wobbly armrests
- tilt mechanism which is fiddly/doesn't lock properly some times
- minor back and forth movement even with the tilt mechanism locked
- Abrupt/non progressive height adjustment : when you have the chair at its highest position and pull on the height adjustment lever, the seat lowers way too fast and hits the bottom producing a "thump/bump" sound - even my 70$ IKEA office chair doesn't do that.

Customer support has been good for me so far thank God but I've been reading horror stories.

Other than that...it's very relaxing and comfy even though the cushioning is very firm (always preferred firmer mattresses/chairs/armchairs though), just hope it has a good longevity.
Yeah, the wobbly armrests seems to be a thing with most of these 4d-armrests chairs. Probably because all the possible movements. I love that they're magnetic though! Great to be able to replace them if they're getting worn out.
I have already ordered the plush ones, for more comfort.

I havn't noticed anything wrong with the tilt mechanism, but I prefer to have the chair in a upright position and seldom recline and tilt it a lot.

As for the height adjustment I usually stand up a bit to avoid that very quick adjustment.
My last chair (a ergometic mesh chair) had very little rom for height, so it felt a bit to low even in the highest setting. Glad to see this one being able to rise a bit more.

I've also ordered the "Lumbar pillow pro" and looking forward to trying that, although i'm very happy with the integrated lumbsr support. The head pillow feels great, and that lumbar pillow seems to be of the same material, so that should be awesome.

Major stuff (some was from bd as it's close to xmas, most from my wife, mother, brother in-law, inlaws), these are just the more larger gifts, but it was an amazing haul. Wife got spoiled by me as well. It was a good xmas for sure.

Santa brought me two sons that are married that I still believe are hell of gay. I make them walk under the gaydar every time they enter the house ( it’s a piece of paper with gaydar written on it and I sound my phone alarm when they come through).

A wife that nags me when I’m in the middle
Of a hike a 0530 to remind me to be there for Christmas morning with the grandkids.

All in all it turned out good, Santa and my wife got me some dumbass Jetski seadoo thingy you can fish from or something. She doesn’t know this, I’ll never use it. Jokes on her.

Merry Christmas, ladies and gents.
Wait your wife got you a jetski and you aren't going to use it? those are like $9k - 20k new ... Your wife must be rich and really loves you. I would use the jetski, make her happy. If you don't , sell it to me for cheap of course... :messenger_winking_tongue: (unless I am confused from your post).

Nice, which one ?
I picked this budget Samsung HW-Q600C soundbar and hooked it up to my Samsung S95B OLED TV that I got last year. It's good enough for my needs, which is mostly console gaming, along with some movie and anime watching.

I didn't want to go with something more expensive, as it would be a waste in the 2 bedroom flat I'm living at right now.

Yeah, it is a new jetski with fishing equipment attached. A fish finder, live well, etc. We are both fortunate to make it to the top of our professions. I retired from the Marine Corps that still do contracting with the Marines Corps for MCMAP (hand to hand combat) on Parris Island as I retired here in Beaufort and my wife is a District Manager for the USPS that looks over North and South Carolina. I also got lucky on a ton of investments throughout my time in the Corps.

The secret she doesn’t know is when I go out fishing, I don’t fish. In reality I am very thankful she thought of me, I was being a smart ass.

I am 57 years old and my wife never lets us go a Christmas without giving each other something and its usually the only person that does get me anything per my request
Getting old, especially if you're at least moderately successful, makes Christmas increasingly difficult (particularly now so many things are just digital subscriptions), you tend to just buy whatever you want whenever you want it throughout the year

It is just a "just get whatever you want babe" type of thing because you are spot on if either of us want something we just end up getting it

Built it myself. 9800X3D installed

Has a temp 4080 ( bought it sealed of kijiji for 850$ Canadian ) waiting for 5090 to replace it.

I sold my previous PC build with a 7800X3D and a 4090 and made a good profit. Now, assuming the 5090 is about 2k, after I sell the 4080, I am breaking even financially but with much better specs.

Thanks to Nvidia and AMD for discontinuing the 7800x3d and the 4090. Sold them at the perfect time for more than what I paid lol

“Moderately successful” changes with a couple of kids at home. That's where the money goes :messenger_grinning_sweat:. At some point, however, it becomes difficult to surprise each other with “gifts”. At that point, especially when you're successful and putting in a lot of time at work, spending time together and having some quiet time is gift enough. I'm honestly glad that I can spend some quality time with my family and enjoy some quiet time with my wife.

But even if you're not “successful”, I think it's satisfying when you get some rest in your daily routine. There are enough jobs that don't pay well and require a lot of sacrifice. If you are “successful and well paid”, you belong to a privileged part of socierty.

Yeah I do have a lot of friends with kids, they are a massive financial drain. Even friends who are programmers at Spotify are relatively constrained with disposable income. Schools cost a bloody fortune.

That said, I’m not 100% sure on the demographics here, but it’s always felt like gaffers trend on the older side, it’s also the nerdier/geekier side of gaming culture, which I’ve often found correlates strongly with people working in “tech”, so if I had to hazard a guess, gaf would be somewhat over represented by “privileged part of society”

And yeah rest is super important. That is certainly something I am not privileged in. I get decent sleep but work for myself so very little time off. Took 2 days off over this hols, worked New Year’s Eve and working today. 🤷‍♂️

Success can be measured in many ways, and it’s not always financial.

I don't get much for Christmas, but the kids had a good haul. The highlight apparently being the 10 year old's mini fridge for her room.

I've asked a few times why? I don't understand. Just glad she's happy with it hah
There is a whole Family Guy episode like this, lol
