I read last night that McClendon isn't happy with Erasmo Ramirez giving up so many hits on 0-2 counts. Honestly that battle between Beavan, Wolf and Ramirez looks pretty awful.

MLB is full of lies. This season is not even close to giving me an opening day boner.

Yeah but there is no way he won't be in the rotation ... not with a .96 ERA and sub 1 WHIP in ST.

Rotation will probably be ..

Felix/Paxton/Ramirez/Wolf/Elias

Wolf and Elias disappear ... well Wolf will go to the bullpen and Elias to AAA when Taijuan and Hisashi are back. Roenis Elias could give us some quality 5th starts.

I'm not too worried. A's rotation got killed. Texas is ailing. Angels rotation was never that good to begin with. And the Astros are the Astros.

Another game, and no sign of Jon Jay at all. Not sure what Matheny is thinking, but I'm wondering if he'll even be on the opening day roster at this point. Dude has just fallen off completely.

Read somewhere (think it was the PD) that he was playing in minor league games in the back fields

Its looking like the Cards will have no spot for him on Opening Day. Bourjous has had a good spring training, and Robinson and Piscotty have done really well also.

They saw Harang as Freddy Garcia who would be cheaper and could throw a little harder. Harang/Garcia would have just been keeping the spot warm for Gavin Floyd when he comes back in May anyways.

He's been struggling both offensively and defensively recently, so I don't really have too much of a problem with that. He hasn't exactly made a case this spring.

I think Piscotty will be done in AAA though, but there's too many outfielders down there too with Taveras, Grichuk, and Ramsey. Most of these guys are gonna need regular playing time. Could definitely see Piscotty being called up at some point in 2014 though, especially if Craig gets injured (would've thought Taveras before this ST, but I'm not really sure what's going on with him now)

Apparently the Cards are not real impressed with his conditioning. Count that with Piscotty coming in ready to earn a spot, I think Taveras stock has fallen a little.

Looks like Darvis is out for a while. Going to see Harrison's back specialist. Definitely a lock to open on the DL, and probably going to be out for a long time.

I have never had my enthusiasm for baseball season cut so short in this amount of time. I literally cannot WAIT for football season - and I pull for the Cowboys and the University of Georgia.

I don't even like the gimmicks and everything a great deal. It just seems like more useless rules to eek out some couple thousand dollar fines.
