The interface system is pretty much a shortcut to being a good pilot since it allows better spacial awareness, and more easy and free control (at least normally, it's probably necessary for the super mode v MAs we saw this episode). Gaelio and others were able to compete since he had a lot more experience and formal training, which allowed him to compensate for the lack of the system. That said, someone who was super experienced and attuned to the system would ultimately probably be nearly unbeatable by someone without the system
Despite Gaelio's skill, AV system provides a sensory/reaction time loop that is hard to match. It's not impossible, but i'm hoping whatever happened to "Vidarify" him includes something AV related so we can see him not be limited by that anymore.
Mika probably still has "protagonist/plot power ups" in store so I doubt it will matter in the end though.
What happened with him & Ein would imply he would get AV after his injuries at the end of last season. Part of me has also suspected McGillis may get it ever since Bael first got a mention in the show as well...

I'm not sure about that. What's interesting is, the reason they didn't want to let the pilots continue using Gundams against the MA was because of the AV system. The sensory output with the limiters removed would prove to be too much and physically damage the pilot. But if someone could pilot a Gundam without the AV system and have fast enough natural responses to keep up with the machine, that... actually wouldn't be a problem right? Something to think about.
I still feel that AV is a sort of "artificial Newtype" concept in the IBO setting, and one day we might see a real Newtype show up.

seeing as Mika gets back his lost limbs every time he hooks up to Barbatos, I am wondering if they could just make a portable AV system that he can just have on his back
like that small shell thing they have when they use those mobile workers
I mean it can be plausible... his limbs aren't dead per say they are just in need of some jolt to make it function
which leads me to the next part on that the current masked Gaelio is piloting that lion Gundam with top brass skills and seems not to be hooked up to any AV system
I wonder if he already has something similar to what I stated above constantly attached to his body since unlike Ein the dude is able to walk around and interact with people easily without any hassle
the whole another life after death thing they were spouting about this episode might be implying that

What i could see happening is Mika making the AV system work without a wired connection to Barbatos. Turning on Wifi mode and being able to walk again or something. Make Barbatos move remotely without Mika inside, now that's probably a TVTrope page i don't know the name of. Not space magic enough for a gundam show maybe.
Man, great episode. Atra is full of crazy as always.
I feel like this is the moment where the relationship between Orga and Mikazuki really turns their fortunes south. It's been because of them that Tekkadan has made it this far but now Orga is straining under the pressure with Mika pushing him on still. It's even more rough now that Mika doesn't have to worry about what kind of world he has to live in if it were peaceful.
The fight was brutal, Mika is way too OP. A funny and dark episode for sure, we get funny scenes like Atra's idea and Hush carrying Mika but then we get this super dark Mika monologue and Orga on the edge of breaking down. Lot's of things happened too, the Iok falling out with that other guy, who knows where that goes, excellent episode all around.
When is the anime break over though? I need more Gundam.
And that was probably the best IBO episode thus far. Great way of pacing and framing the aftermath while having an amazing fight scene. Tfw when Mika borrowed the big ass sword and was like... "this is more like it." Love how the story is focusing on overarching consequences as nothing great is achieved so quickly without huge sacrifices.
Mass murderers and terrorists are people too! They can be helpless too!
Why aren't more people supporting this mafia organization enlisting child soldiers under a farming laundering front???
Don't you feel bad for them? Let them kill who they want because it makes just their lives better!
They're above the law!
The dolphin gundam will particularly answer your question because it is the second complimentary Gundam Frame that symbolizes human nature alongside the Pig frame.
Unlike the Pig Frame, that represents sloth, greed, and wrath, the Dolphin Frame represents the libido and expanding one's curiosity.
I'm not sure Tekkadan will find this particular frame, but I can assure you that this question will be addressed in the Orphans Gaiden alongside the Astaroth.
Regardless, if Setsuna can't even sustain a libido surrounded by women do you think Mika can?
To really expand on this further, earlier when I showed off the Dolphin Frame Coprs (Name Pending due to Sunrise NDA), you can really see how the the libido is focused by looking at the design of the lower torso of the Dolphin Frame.
It doubles as a secondary feature for these mobile suits.
Not actual sex but there have been animated scenes in older gundam series like ZZ and Turn A where a female character obviously interested in the main character rides on him while they pilot the mobile suit.
Gundam has had a main character take a giant shit in front of 3 other female characters and later have them answer the question if the cockpits have a built in toilet.
The only real onscreen scene that is animated is in Gundam SEED where Flay manipulates Kira and takes advantage of him into sleeping with her so that she could have him do whatever she wants.
It's just a fan blog. Very prone to mistakes due to assumptions. Shun on the other hand is an executive marketing director at Sunrise. He knows his shit. Bael is either a condor type or dolphin type Gundam. He hasn't confirmed yet.
man, I really don't like the huge feet design in some of IBO gundam. Barbatos Lupus also has really cool design until my eyes go to the humongous feet. is it just me?
We've known about Gundam Bael for more than a month now and seeing as Bael/Baal is the first king in the demons of Goetia and is considered the very first Gundam Frame, it is also under the possession of the highest ranked member of Ghallajorn and the Seven Stars.
Which is currently the Issue Family. Which is also one of the things that McGillis has been working to obtain seeing as the very first Gundam frame is Bael and was piloted by Agnika. McGillis's position in the Seven Stars is also why he is so gungho about it.
Bael is particularly designed to be more angel like in design compared to the other Gundam frames due to it's status as a countermeasure to Mobile Armor. Bael was also a fallen angel which also contributes to his design and status. The way people worshipped Bael was through the sacrifice of children which also explains as to why mostly children and young people pilot Gundam Frames, even with Gusion.
As for the other suit, Hekija, it is a Teiwaz suit so it is separate from the test suit that Juliette will pilot.
We at Sunrise and Bandai Namco Entertainment all wish you a Happy New Year and look forward to what is in store in 2017.
Finally caught up with season 2. Mika is a fucking savage. S2 has been really good so far. I'm loving the higher stakes for everybody involved. Has it been confirmed that Gaelio is Vadir?
