Sharpness+1 is usually mandatory for my sets but here it just gives me a sliver of purple:

Which wears down so fast in battle it seems inconsequential (no Razor Sharp here.)
They have a lot of white though, even without S+1:

Dropping S+1 would allow me to gem in AuXL, taking the stats to
Attack: 485
Element: 200
with charms/talons and eating for Specialist.

Should I drop S+1 to go from AuL to AuXL?

Go Critical. It's a bigger attack boost for raw attack that high.

I'm just starting to see the value of relic DBs myself. The Teostra that I just recently leveled up to lvl. 140 and have been farming in the hopes of getting an Edgemaster talisman is finally giving me relic DBs that are worth something. I hope I get DBs with that much attack power soon. Yesterday it dropped a SnS with 476 attack power but no element.

I've also noticed that the DBs I've been getting might benefit more from Edge Lore than Edgemaster. Hopefully that Edge Lore +4 ooo talisman I apparently have will come in handy now. Now I'm going to focus on relic weapons rather than that elusive Edgemaster talisman.

P.S. My quest gives Sea-King's Twins DBs (Ceadeus DBs, I believe). They look pretty good. I never liked the Tessen DB design, so I'm happy with what I'm getting.

The son of a bitch. That's all I need. I haven't even finished leveling this tigrex quest to try farming a good set of guild knight sabers yet and I'm already planning on farming 5 good pieces of a relic armor set?

I should have never looked at the relic models cause now I can't help but want to look like this Damascus set:

Realistically I dunno how many hours I could expect to sink into something like this but I've filed it away as a long term goal. I can't even figure out how to interpret the damned spreadsheet that tells me what monster I'd need to fight to farm it.

Yeah that's definitely rough. I hardly even use my star knight set anymore, even with IG cause I simply love my garuga mail mixed with HG plugs and basically anything else you could ever need as a blademaster.

I think I could find a way to make it work however if I looked like that screenshot.

I've been looking into a replacement for the Star Knight armor that's just as good but with HG Earplugs ever since I saw just how much damage potential I lose every time I get stunned by a roar, especially with DBs.

It doesn't negate the heat wave, but does reduce the amount of damage that attack does. It's a cheap 5 slot skill to gem it, at any rate.

I kind of thought that it wouldn't negate the heat wave, but I wanted to be sure. And really anything that could help is nice for that fight. I'll just drop my AuL down and gem it in. Thanks Tuffy!

You'll need over 333 true raw before Critical God starts out-performing Attack Up (XL) (333 + 25 vs. 333 * (1 + .30 /4)). So for Dual Blades I believe that works out to 466 attack power or more.

I made an Anti-crimson set: sharpness+1, challenger+2, rodeo god, steady hand, heat cancel, fire resistance+15 (with Star Knight's 5 in fire resistance I now have 20). And I am using the Daora's Samudra IG. I'm going to try and solo him again when I get home from work. We'll see how it goes.

Edit:
I have enough slots to get the Fire Resistance +20 and negate the severe fireblight. Time to farm some flame sacs to get 3 more decorations.

With powercharm, powertalon and Attack Up Small, I was able to get a pair of dual blades with 406 attack up to 469. That's not counting the boost from Challenger+2, might seeds, or the felyne kitchen. Fully upgraded, it gets 45% affinity, so with Challenger+2 and Critical God, that's 95% affinity. I think this is a good choice.

By G rank, you really need to be looking at skills more than the armor's resistance and such. I'd say the general good skills to look for as a blademaster would be:

AuL/XL
Challenger +2
Sharpness +1
Honed Blade
Evasion +2/3
Rodeo God (especially for SnS/IG)
Weakness Exploit
High Grade Earplugs
Tremor Res

There are really so many skills I can't possibly list all the good ones, but these are some skills I always look to as being 'best'. Some of them are easier to get than others (Honed Blade is tough, Evasion +3 and Sharpness +1 are both somewhat difficult to get without a talisman for them), but these are the sort of skills you should be looking at.

Follow the "Hit the monster, don't let the monster hit you" mantra and you'll be good.

I've been seeing lots of people use Discord lately. Heard mostly good things about it.

Discord is a lot of fun. My biggest complaint about it so far is that it doesn't have a feature to suppress the key you use for push-to-talk like Mumble does. This created a conflict with me specifically because I use my mouse's thumb buttons as my PTT, so if I tried using Discord while web browsing, I'd keep triggering the back button.

I had to disable the function of that button in my mouse's software client (I actually just changed the functionality of it so that it acts as my Insert key) and haven't had any problems so far, but it was a mild annoyance. I've gotten vague replies from their Twitter and email support that they're planning on it.

The thing is very much in development. They are super diligently reading all of the feedback and suggestions they get for it and updating it multiple times a week with new features. I guess long term plan is they're going to try and financially support it with cosmetic sales, skins and emojis and stuff, kinda like Dota hats, but I haven't heard anything about that.

Well that went better then I expected. G3 Crimson Fatalis solo run ended with a kill at 2:52 left. I think I can tighten up some things with where I am attacking and I can get that time down. I obviously wasn't going for speed, honestly the repel would have been fine but I'll take the kill. I need to learn the tell for his body slam and it will be easy grinding.

Another solo run on G3 Crimson Fatalis and I beat my last time by 5 minutes with no fainting. I'm quite pleased with that. AND I am one more Fatalis Devileye + away from the Hellrun Glaive "Omen". Although I don't think I can slog through another solo run right now.
