I can't get on for another hour or so but I'll accept once i'm on, or can I do it on the 2k site?
im pretty sure you can only accept invitations via in-game. but when you do enter the lockerroom, it will ask you if you want to use "myplayer". choose "no".
crew games need at least 2 members to play. im not sure if ill will be on, but im sure others will be.
check the gamertag "NBA 2K10GAFTEAM" on your friendlist to see who's online.

Have fun bitch. When they finally fix this game I will get it and own you in the league harder than I own your girl after she's had a few drinks. :D

Cheesin motherfuckers!

Dude dropped 57 on us with a center was like like 8 feet tall with like 99 strength and close range/dunking.

He was also their best freethrow shooter!

We kept it in single digits for a bit but he blew the gates open with lead pass in the 4th :(

lol, well if 2k uses exploits to win, how much does that say about their product? :lol

You arent seeing the glitches? Its not even about gameplay preferences at this point. Game is glitchy as hell

Off course i'm seeing, but i know these will be fixed through patches. What i really don't like is the structural flaws that can't be be patched, like online ranked games.

I still love the game, so far it's a 8.5 for me, but the online part is just too arcadey. I like those ranked games because i enjoy competition, but it's exploit after exploit after exploit.

People use full court press the whole game and whoever uses the Cavs gets 1-2 second fastbreaks with LBJ that are just rediculous.

The way things are, i bet we will have to wiat until PS5 and xbox 1440 before we see real sim basketball online.

Sadly, this cycle will never end. The engine will keep getting rewritten for each console generation and then the fun begins again.

The patch is ways away from being released? So they are admitting they released an unfinished game...

I will wait till this drops to $30, amazing how bad this franchise fell off in 1 year

the MAIN problem I have had with 2k this gen, the engine is just looks so damn dated, are they really so lazy to be using the same engine for 10 years?

Easy to blame 2k but its partly the publishers. It would have been nice if 2k could have gotten everything done in time, but the publisher forces the hand: Game must be out before b-ball season starts and within range of NBA Live. It's too bad because with some extra polish this game would have been pretty authentic, and made me ignor Live altogether. I love the commentary and extra overlays when everything is working correctly, and the gameplay while kind of dated, still works

Man, I would love to run with the GAF crew (got the invite) but I already committed to one with my friends - sucks you can't be part of more than 1 crew. We still haven't been able to game in. I really wanna run it with My Player, not just NBA players (you might as well do a pick up). Hopefully the patch sorts the online issues out.

You cant just drop in a new engine you know, thats not how shit works. Its not about people being "lazy" Its about budgets, team size and time allotted.

Chances are, theyll have a brand new game for next-gen, I reeeally doubt youll see a brand new game this gen.

I would prefer if the game forced you to use random teams honestly...

Yeah it'd nice to imagine a bunch of evenly matched My Players battling it out with good sim ball but after what I just witnessed earlier I have to imagine that a ton of these cats off the street are only interested in creating the Brock Lesnars of basketball. Huge hulking 7 foot 3 beasts with 99 strength, rebounding, shot blocking and scoring.

Am i the only one that thinks this game is awesome besides the flaws?

To me it's better than 2k9, specially because of my player mode. Online is where most of the problems are, but this game it's not what this thread is making you believe.

It's still way better than Live, even with the improvments on EA part.

Why so much hate?
I just want to take my Bobcats to the championship. But I can't because I can't progress my players, use the d-league, or make sensible trades without override. :(

My Player mode is awesome and is almost worth the price of getting fucked in the ass by 2k for 60 dollars.

I'm ready to pull a Kobe because Jamal Crawford decided to chuck 3's instead of giving me the ball the complete my triple double to beat the Celtics. We lost by 3 :\

Someones offering me 45 bucks for the game. I would like shed some tears for the association/my player modes but with Modern Warfare 2 coming out and the big spring lineup being what it is I don't think I'd miss 2k10 especially since we have no idea if the patch will even work or when its launching.

Will update in the online thread if i'm temporarily out of the league but chances are once the league is ready I'd just buy the copy off of some desperate kid for 30 bucks in December.

What is also making me lean towards taking the money is the fact that 2k isn't just satisfied with giving me a beta product...they are trying to break my xbox. There are tons of reports of team up attempts online resulting in frozen boxes just before tip off. My box froze twice yesterday trying that shit. Fuck that. When your entire party is trying to join a team up game and you reboot to dashboard only to see that those same people are on dashboard as well you begin to realize you got your money stolen!

First time I'm playing Association mode in 2K. Is there any advantage to sending a player to d-league other than freeing a roster spot? Do they gain any skills while they're there?

Also as far as releasing a player goes, is their contract off the books for the season if another team signs them?

Sorry for the noob questions. I usually just play season mode but decided to try the Association this year.

Ive logged some good time on My Player, Im the 6th man for the Jazz, while its a great mode, here are my notes:

- I sub in after about 20 seconds of playtime, and generally play about 80% of the game ... why the hell arent I starting then? My natural position is PG but I play the whole game as a SG. Sorry Brewer, but that starting spot should be mine. Maybe there could be an option of playing practice before the game, and you if you do well, then you can earn your starting spot (think of it as qualifying races in dricing games)

- Playing as a SG renders All-Star PG's on your squad useless (yeah I know Deron isnt technically an All-Star yet, but whatevah) He basically gives me the ball right away after the possession and thus never takes over games, rendering his overall grade of 91 useless.

-Without sliders, playing the CPU is a mess. For some reason, and Ive played enough games to confirm this, opposing star players are never in a slump, yet Boozer and Deron shoot about 40% throughout the game ... why the fuck does that happen? Nevermind that the cpu never ever plays any defense ... and I heard that Kirilenko guy is good at it, yet The fuckin' Birdman keeps owning him.

-I know theres a patch that will fix this, but playing 5 minute games while all the other sim games are 12 minutes really fucks over statistics. I'm gonna have a reeeally hard time scoring 30 points or dishing 10 assists in a game, nevermind a triple double. It also fucks up team averages as everybody on MY TEAM has horrible averages per game compared to any other team in the league.

-There needs to be more gameplay from Association mode implemented here and I dont see why it would be very difficult to do. When I signed my 10 day contract I got told about it ... but its been like 12 games since and I have NO IDEA what my current status is with the team. Did I get signed for another ten day trial or did I get signed for the full season? I have no idea but either one must have happened since 12 games is longer than 10 days, lol. Also, whats my contract like, how much money do I make? Whats the progression? Do I get to demand a trade or gauge my options? ... I have no idea since once I made it to the NBA the game stopped telling me anything nor is there a menu with any of that information ... you think that would be important!

-Gameplay wise there should be adjustments made to the defensive game. Let say Im covering Kobe Bryant and he averages 32 ppg (in my save file, he does) well fuck, if I hold him to 22 points the game shouldn't give me shit for it, I held the best player in the league to way below average numbers! The game does reward you for "good defense" on made shots and thats cool, but it needs to be taken further. The game gets stingy when you call for passes and other stuff, but thats fine, it will get ironed up in future versions I'm sure.

-Would be cool if the mode was online or co-op, but thats obviously on my personal wishlist for next year, that would be a lot fo work to implement. My Crew is close though.

-Oh yeah I said it before, but THIS MODE NEEDS SLIDERS!

-Next-gen hair options please, please, please.

-In the D-League and NBA I got 12 drills allotted, now that Im out of them, am I never going to practice again? That whole deal needs to be re-thought from the ground up.

-Never ever gonna happen, but My Player would be perfectly suited to licensing some European leagues. Maybe youre the next Ricky Rubio or the next Manu! Its a pipe-dream, but the thought is pleasant.

-Another wish. Give me some gameplay options for when Im on the bench, maybe I can ask the vets for advice, hear some tips from the coach or give out tips to rookies. Could be used the same way Manager mode works in Fifa, where you get asked questions and depending on the answer you get some boosts ... they could even be temporary, like you get a morale boost for the 4th quarter rally or something.

-As far as attribute points, I would appreciate if the game gave you the option of following a template like, what if you want a PG like Calderon? The game should hook you up and give you more information as to how achieve that rather than having me go to edit mode and write down stats.

-Also on the wishlist for next year: Maybe theres a way you can be a number one pick? Maybe after you achieve something in the game with a shitty player you get to create the next LeBron James. ( so yeah, New Game +, lol) Just a thought.

Anyways, some ideas. Great mode though, amazing potential.

Exactly why I stopped my PG my player. Playing 35+ mins a game at PG, rated mid 50s and having Paul play at SG is stupid. Started again with a 6'11 C and am on the Blunder summer league team.

They need something like position battles where you have a series of drills and a 1 on 1/2 on 2/3 on 3 etc drills to out perform the person battling you.

I hate that you're automatically given a bad grade if your guy scores. If you rotate correctly but your guy is open or gets a basket you get a bad grade. You're basically penalised for trying to play help defense. You might get a reward for a Smart Double, but then it's negated by gettin penalised for your man scoring.

I also got a bad off ball screen grade last night that led directly to a basket. I set a screen near the baseline, my team mate started to go left towards the screen and away from the baseline, the defender bit and ran into the screen and the guy with the ball crossed over, went baseline and had a wide open layup. I don't know if that makes sense but it looked awesome.

I get sick of the sub in/sub out timings. 5 min quarters, subbed in at 4:51. Subbed out at 2:16 on a FT. Subbed back in at 2:13 and the same team has the ball at half court somehow. Subbed out at 9.6 seconds, subbed back in at 5.3. It's infuriating sometimes.

As you said the mode is awesome and it says something that despite the numerous issues I'm still playing it.

New bug, confirmed, as Ive tested it 6 times now.

So I got drafted by the Blazers, but now I play for the Jazz. Okay. Now its time to play agains the Blazers, the following happens:

-I sub in after 3 seconds. For real, 3 seconds. As I do I quickly adjust the came to 2k cam since the fucking game doesn't remember my camera settings, but when I exit the menu the game is still stuck on bench camera mode and My Player is out there on the court, being handled by the AI ... what the fuck? I change the camera again, and it seems like its gonna work, but after I get out of pause it defaults to bench view again.

Okay I think, Ill call a timeout, see if that fixes it. My call for timeout makes THE BLAZERS call a timeout. What???!! Keep in mind I play for the JAZZ. So, heres what its happening:

-Since I got drafted by the Blazers, the game STILL THINKS I play for the Blazers.
-Since obviously I play for the other team, the game deems that I dont exist and thus doesnt give me control over my guy.
-I tried quitting, so that I could move on to the next game, but nope, you have to re-do the game you quit.
-This brings us full circle to what Im doing now, letting the game play itself in real time for 4 quarters so that I can get back to normal after its over. LAME

One time bug? Maybe but I doubt it, I restarted the console, quit several times and it keeps happening.

This is important because when you quit a game, your required Teammate grade for the next game defaults to "C" again, which means you can exploit this by quitting every game early, re-doing it and youll only need to get a "C" grade in order to get more skill points. This can be done without a penalty.

This is the player duplication bug. Check the Blazers roster and you will see that a copy of your player is on it.

This will further screw up your stats as the game averages both players stats. So if you score 30 points, your PPG average will be at 15.0 points if your clone scores 0 points. Since an AI controlling a low rated player is going to give him limited minutes when it is simming the Blazer's games all your stats are essentially going to be cut in half.

When you go head to head with your clone, some zany stuff will happen and you might end up simming the whole game and watching yourself, and/or playing for a couple seconds.

Seems like a near 100% bug. No way they missed this. Probably just ran out of time and couldn't fix it.

Thanks for the synapsis, I just got the game 2 days ago (PC version) and My Player is where all my time went as well. Im still in the Summer camp, have done the 6 drills (which I sucked at) and 3 summer league games (did OK, got a C+, B- and B-)

I havent played a NBA game in 3 years now and am presently suprised by the My Player career mode. THis and Crew mode are really going to last me a long while

Im late, just got the game the other day with the TRU deal....

is it just me or is the Framerate not locked at 60? shit is annoying...I know in replays its at 30 but during the actual game with no replays, the framerate drops here and there...wtf

Is this a glitch or something? I was trying to sign Sessions and it told me the only way I could do that since LA is over the hard cap is if the team has less than 12 players. Then when I go to my roster and try to release someone, it says "your roster must contain at least 12 players". So how am I supposed to get less than 12 players on my roster?

It's weird since in the brief time I played 2K9's association, I thought I had a similar salary situation and still was able to pick up a FA with the veteran minimum salary. Weird.

Hey 2Kers,

First off, thanks to everyone for being patient regarding the patch. We've taken a little extra time to ensure that what you're getting is exactly what you want. I think you'll see that effort in the patch details below.

We are actually still putting the finishing touches on the 360 version of the patch, so I don't have the full details of that patch just yet. I'll pass along that information to Ronnie once it is ready (which should be in the next couple of days).

And now the question everyone wants to know...when is the patch coming out? Let me tell you where we are at and how this normally plays out. We are about to send the patches to our QA for internal testing where we will hammer on the changes for around a week to make certain that the issues were properly fixed and that new ones weren't added. After that, the patches will need to be submitted to Sony and Microsoft where they usually get tested for 7-10 days (depending on how busy they are). Once the patches are approved at the first parties, they usually get released within a few days of that approval. I'll be passing on updates to Ronnie such that he can keep all of you in the loop.

GENERAL

- Improved game performance in all arenas and camera angles.

- Corrected a framerate issue that was causing noticeable slowdown in the paint in specific arenas.

- Corrected a framerate issue that was causing noticeable slowdown during NBA D-League games.

- Fixed an issue where Coach Settings were not properly saving to the user’s Settings file.

- Addressed an issue where the user would enter into a game where there would either be no crowd present or the opposing team would not appear on the court.

- Fixed an issue where users would get NBA Blacktop rules (no intentional fouls, no 3-in-the-key, etc.) turned on when attempting to play a Quick Game.

- In-game saves should now load up correctly in the Playoffs game mode.

- Users are now able to assign any jersey number to a player, on any team, when playing outside of The Association game mode.

- Games played in the NBA D-League should now have appropriate sized crowds.

- Fixed a slowdown issue during stoppages of play with created teams.

- Made a change to where the value for headband colors is stored at. These changes can now be made through Living Roster releases once the patch is released. If you see any discrepancies, make sure and let the 2K Insider know!

GAMEPLAY

- Tuned shooting percentages across the board, particularly in the paint where more shots are now initiated with contact.

- Fixed a soft hang on an inbound where the inbounding player would miss the ball handoff from the referee.

- Plays will no longer break when the user strays slightly from the intended path.

- Both User/CPU alley-oop success has been toned down such that only realistic attempts should now be completed.

- Assists should now only be credited to the passer at appropriate times.

- Only 1 timeout is deducted from the total when the CPU calls a timeout for the user.

- The CPU should no longer pass the ball to a teammate when the recipient has a foot out of bounds.

- Bad passes should be less inaccurate now. They still happen with similar frequency, but some passes can be recovered now.

- CPU players now have better logic behind their turbo energy management (which will keep them fresher for key moments in the game).

- CPU players should now be more aware of being called for 3 second violations.

- Defensive assist is now turned off when the ball is not in play.

- The dribbler should no longer teleport back a few feet on the court following a two player steal attempt.

- Players with unique free throw stances (ex., Paul Pierce) will no longer slide into position to shoot the free throw.

- Point Guards should no longer end up out of bounds during baseline inbounds coming out of a timeout or dead ball.

- Fixed a case where the PG would run in a circle (in anticipation of receiving the ball) in the backcourt during transitions.

- Players should no longer get stuck in the post in a single player hold-ball animation (often leading to a 24-second violation) when trying to drive to the basket.

- Fixed an issue where the user was unable to give certain players their player-specific animation packages.

- Fixed an issue with a baseline layup where opposing defenders weren’t able to create contact when the animation played out.

- Addressed a specific dunk animation that would sometimes not result in a made basket despite a successful dunk.

- The user should now notice more over-the-back calls on rebounds when the boxed out player attempts a rebound.

- Improvements to the ‘walk the dog’ inbounds play including increased velocity on the inbound.

- A good number of other changes aimed towards increasing user satisfaction have also been made in this release. These will be apparent as you play the game (ex. The referee will now utilize a bounce pass rather than a chest pass when passing the ball to the shooter during free throw situations, plays will now start quicker when the user manually calls a play, etc.).

PRESENTATION

- During NBA Today/Association games, the ‘Upcoming Schedule’ overlay will no longer obstruct
gameplay.

- Fixed an issue where the substitution overlay would sometimes briefly cover the action on the court.

- Blank overlays should no longer quickly appear/disappear during gameplay.

ONLINE

- Improved performance and stability for all online game types.

- Corrected an issue in Team-Up play where all players would sometimes see the same player (PG) listed in all substitution slots.

- Ranked game difficulty has been changed to SuperStar for Team-Up games.

- Removed the spotlights for online play only to improve performance during stoppages of play.

- Corrected an issue with the My Player Pick-Up games that would sometimes cause games to diverge upon initiation.

- Replays uploaded via GameTrack should now play properly when viewed at 2ksports.com.

- Fixed an issue with the Screenshot Upload feature that would sometimes upload an incorrect screenshot.

- Fixed an issue where a user’s consecutive win streak would get reset to zero if the user won a game where his/her opponent quit out of the active game.

- Fixed an issue in private matches with friends where all users would disconnect when attempting to play a second game.

- Fixed an issue where games in online leagues would diverge if users made changes to the default roster.

- Addressed an issue where completed ranked games would sometimes not report the results to the server.

MY PLAYER

- Fixed an issue that would cause a clone of the user’s player to be created when changing teams at the end of the Summer Circuit. Existing cloned players will be removed with this patch.

- Tuned the substitution logic such that users should no longer be substituted out only to be substituted in at the next dead ball.

- The logic that determines whether or not you get an invite to Training Camp, make the NBA team, and get an invite from an NBA team while in the NBA D-League have all been changed to be a little more forgiving.

- Resolved an issue where the 2K Insider was not informing the user of his/her contract status at the conclusion of a 10-day contract.

- Fixed a rare case that would cause a hang during the offseason following a My Player season.

- Animation packages will no longer be reset to the ‘best’ package every time a corresponding attribute is upgraded.

- The user’s ‘Drills Remaining’ value will now be properly saved as new drills are accumulated throughout the NBA/D-League season.

ASSOCIATION

- The ability for the user to upload their Association stats/standings to the blog interface on 2KSports.com has been added.

- Fixed an issue where player ratings would drop upon the successful completion of a Development Drill.

- Tuned the Player Progression system such that Shot Tendencies will progress/regress over a player’s career. Additionally, general Player Progression/Regression has been slightly increased as well.

- Fixed an issue where the number of players the user had sent down to their D-League affiliate wasn’t getting reset despite recalling players back to their NBA team.

- Fixed an issue where draft classes loaded in future years would change the age of the prospects inside the draft class. They should now have the same age they were created with.

- 10-day contracts should now work in year 2 and beyond.

- Lower rated players should now be more accepting of the ‘Role Player’ role.

- Stats accumulated during NBA D-League games will no longer register as Season/Career Highs for players.

Great news, finally can play this game with some interest rather than stuffing around like I am now.

edit: where's the ability to change My Player minutes without the Draft Combine?

Thank god! I was playing a game the other day, and the game got stuck in a crazy loop, where the CPU was trying to inbound the ball, and it got stuck between the CPU and the referee passing the ball back and forth to each other for about 20-30 seconds. I was like, WTF??? :lol

Look guys, people asking about the minutes/difficulty in My Player, I don't know if Dev meant it to be this way but this is how I see it:

Before patch - You got to change difficulty/minutes but didn't get to benefit from Developmental Drills and Pick-Up Games for the most part.

After patch - You can't change minutes but you get to Drill and Pick-Up Game early in your My Player career.

:lol :lol FUCKING USELESS

Yeah boy!! But even with the bugs I am still having fun. Trying to draft a franchise to my liking..but have not found a combo that I liked yet.

My player is pretty awesome!

Wait.

So If I want to play a guy who ISNT my draft combine guy (which is what I want to do), I can't change my minutes?

What.

The.

FUCK.

From the sounds of things you can't even change it with Draft Combine, the mode was always made to be 5 min quarters. They're checking it now.

I would happily take 5 min quarters with everything fixed over the way it is now.

Fucking no chance of scoring 60 pts or whatever the bonus is for in My Player now though.

Yeah like, heres what makes no sense

"We designed the mode to have 5 minute quarters!"

compared to

"Go for a triple double!"

Like, are you fucking kidding me?
