They seriously need to work on the commentary, its horrible.

first they talk about bullshit while you steal and dunk it.

Had Ray Allen miss a 17 footer yesterday and they were commenting how he doesn't have the best jump shot in the world or how he is not in there to take jumpshots.

RAY FUCKING ALLEN not in there to take jumpshots. I don't even.

This is the first NBA game I've played since 1996 (UK'er reporting in) and I'm really enjoying it.

Though it is difficult learning how to play a sports game with no idea how the sport itself works.

each player has different timings.

its all practice. And yeah if the ai is open for 3, 9 out of 10 its good. However it works the same for you as long as your timing is right. I torched the ai with Ray Allen by drawing the double with LBJ and kicking it out. He went like 5-6 cause he was so open in the corner.

So I bought this digitally and it downloaded in about half an hour. The install, however, has been going for 30 min. and its at 25%....

2% more in 7 minutes. Is this normal? Nothing is downloading anymore. I can't fathom how a game could take 2 hours (at this rate) to install.

It took a full game for the install to complete for me.

Anyone got to the part in mycareer, where you can choose to stay with your current agent(friend) or go with the new agent.

Can someone tell me the best option to do?

there's an option for shot feedback. Should be in settings, presentation, and there should be options there for shot timing/quality feedback. Turn those on, and you should see whether or not your timing is correct.

Take note shot timing is different from shot quality. Timing tells you whether your release was on point, whereas quality tells you whether you took a good shot or not (ie whether your shot wasn't forced, in range, your degree of openness etc).

Also, practice always helps. Different shots have different timing to them, taking step backs, spin shots, and drifting/fading jumpers will have different release points to them. Just know the situation and know which shot to use to get the best timing/quality of shot possible.

I hope the patch fixes my substitution issues. Because it is really annoying getting subbed in and then NOBODY ever gets subbed out and by the 4th we're all blown out lol

Weird, it took less than a game for me to fully install it. In fact, during the 4th Quarter of my very first game the voice commentary kicked in out of nowhere, and I realized the install was over.

I just played blacktop with a bunch of friends.. Holy crap it looks so good. I didn't even care about the game. I was just looking at how good the lighting was.

Yeah, you get hurt halfway through your rookie season and miss some time. Team didn't make the playoffs. Then I simmed all non key games my second season. Made the playoffs but lost in the second round to the Jackson Ellis Timberwolves, although he got hurt. After that, it simmed the offseason, and I got a cutscene with Lebron in my apartment saying we should play together and that all I need to do is let him know and he'll make it happen.

But apart from the usual GM "are you happy" dialogue I didn't get anything yet, now the start of the 3rd season. It said my rookie contract was only 2 years long, so I don't know why I didn't get to be a free agent.

The reason I ask is because I think I'm on my 7th or 8th game and while it says I have 15 minutes in the rotation, I end up playing 40 minutes. And my game has this weird bug where the guys who I enter the game with...never get subbed out. So when the second half starts we stay in the game, not the starters, and we never get subbed out

I also didn't know if you could sim key/non key games. I guess I'm supposed to keep playing till I get injured?

also all of these dumb cutscenes are ridiculous

Have you tried turning up the bench depth slider on the coaching options? If you are up in the game and have a good teammate rating your coach will be less likely to pull you out. It also won't pull you out if you have a challenge going like "dont turn over the ball the rest of the quarter" and it's a full 12 minute quarter.

You can only sim games your second season and beyond. And I am pretty sure the getting hurt thing is a scripted event because it has a whole story that goes along with it. Happened about halfway through the season for me.

Thanks for the all the info. Do you know anything about the sub issue? Cause I would rather play with Brandon Jennings and Josh Smith instead of Kyle Singler and Rodney Stuckey

I'm gonna go try that other stuff but...I didn't even know the coaching options stuff was there

Also so you had to play 30+ full games or so before getting hurt?

That sounds about right. When I got off the IR or whatever there was maybe a month left in the season. Just got the flu the start of the 3rd season and gutted out a win despite my guy moving half speed. Then played the Heat, where Lebron taught me his signature skill (Lebron coast to coast) and some dunks in the pregame.

Might have been early Feb. It's like a scripted ankle injury, trainer asks to see it and everything.

Ah. I remember that scene. You sprained your ankle and your trainer ask if you are okay. I just said I'm fine and playing through my injury. I guess I should had picked "I'm not okay" so that I'll be on the sideline.

The game is on rails in the background. I noticed in the 2nd season that every team in my teams division was under 500. We're talking Lakers, Clippers, Warriors, Kings. All completely healthy, all lottery fodder. What was odd was that they were all within a game or two of each other. It seemed like it was scripted out so that the last game of the season would be a playoff spot clincher for your team.

There are all sorts of AI shenanigans going on in certain games, like you'll be taken out up 20 and put back in down 15. Like.. what?

The inability to call for a teammate to take the shot seems criminal. When your coach puts the offense to play through you (which he will 24/7 once you are a starter) then no one will shoot, even if they are open and a specialist at it. If you have an assist assignment you better hope your center doesn't suck. Just seems like there wasn't a lot of thought put into how the mode would play beyond a season.

I enjoy the game but it's glitchy as fuck as so much of the "MyCareer" (including what happens in each and every game) feels incredibly staged.

I once had a goal at the end of a game to take over the game, take the lead, and win the game. When I got the lead, it said I accomplished the goal, but Rajon Rondo (on the other team) made a full court buzzer beater and my team lost by 1. Even though that happened, the press conference after the game was all talking about how I took the game over, came back, and won it for my team, and everyone was cheering me on for being the hero. Then after the game, the "twitter" feed was all of my fans shit talking me about how I lost the game.

yeah the storyline stuff is neat but...NOT if it's the primary part of the gameplay. let US control what happens on the court, all that off court shit should be random

But,is there a way(or some kind of workaround) to play games in MyGM that don't involve my own team? I always do a fantasy draft and it would be fun to play with the other teams as well...

Can't do that in this one, one of the many features 2k chose to leave out

And they're still silent when it comes to most of these issues...while busy tweeting out new promotions and silly shit like that.

They should fix the menus first. That is unacceptable in 2013(or even 1993)

Bring back the good old association mode. Just want to be able to play a custom length season and manage the team over multiple years in the same way as last-gen versions (basically salary cap management and draft).

This was the most disappointing loss to me, I loved the old association mode.

This game didn't even go through any testing before release at all. I think we are the ones actually doing the testing and we paid $60 to be Beta testers. I'm still itching my head how game reviewers didn't point out a lot of these flaws with the game. My casual brother in law spotted out so many of the bugs and glitches with the game.

I like the game.

But there's a lot of bullshit that annoys me to no end lol. I'm willing to give them a year to fix some of these problems though.

That's being generous. You think 2k really cares what we think?

a few years ago this social media rep from there came in here, introduced himself as such, and tried promoting other shit but when he found out just how disgusted people are with 2k at times, he left faster than Houdini

I like how accurately they got Reggie Evans down. He just picked up 3 fouls against my team in about 4 minutes of play and for each one he was on the ground. I guess flopping isn't nearly as successful in this game as it is in real life.
