I got one free at the 2007 NY Toy Fair, took it apart once and never got it back together again. :lolNitemare1 said:Just getting warmed up!
Side note. Took apart the tetris cube and an hour later went looking for solutions on the internet! Nitemare Fail!

moved my big computer back into my room to sit at my desk, still wanted a machine to watch hd movies and tv shows on in the living room.. bought an nvidia ion motherboard (single core atom @ 1.6ghz) and built it into the smallest case I could find.
Here's my other pick-up for the month - a professional calibration for my Kuro (courtesy of D-Nice @ AVS)

Can you post what hardware you built that media box from? I'm looking to build one sometime soon so it would be nice to get some sort of idea.
Edit: Apparently there is a whole thread on this.

Even still, the picture is jut gorgeous. It too me YEARS to find a set to fit my needs, which were no game lag, the best blacks, good geometry, and THE ABILITY TO FUCKING PLAY DUCKHUNT. This is a Sony KD-34XBR970 34, and it is the kind of thing that if ever wonky, I would pay to have fixed instead of replacing it. Everything from NES, to Wii, to my 360 looks amazing.
Best fucking HD set I could have asked for.
AND I GOT IT FOR ONLY 200 FUCKING DOLLARS WITH EXTENDED WARRANTY!
Sweet deal. I wish I still had a CRT like that. The blacks were soooooo amazing on the one I had before.
I traded it out for a bigger LCD though :/
Where did you get it from?
Some guy who needed it gone NOW. Basically a stroke of nothing but sheer luck.Jaroof said:Sweet deal. I wish I still had a CRT like that. The blacks were soooooo amazing on the one I had before.

As for screen size, it is just what I need, big but not TOO big. There is STILL a market for CRTs dammit, take note manufacturers!
No, you don't...Jaroof said:Haha very nice. And yeah, that is really lucky. I wish I could have some kinda luck like that.

But hey, at least it helps balance it out huh?
Check your local Craigslist for CRT HDTVs. You never know!Jaroof said:Holy shit, ten Wiis?
Wow.... I take it back. haha
I still want your TV though
It does sound pretty perfect. The CRT that I had before was 27". My LCD is a 32" Sanyo, and I want one that's a little bigger. 34" sounds perfect to me. Great size. Not too big, not too small. Guess I gotta keep looking for deals...

Well it is not like they will take the money and then run back off with the set. Thing's too damn heavy!Jaroof said:True, true. Guess I'll start looking there.
Just hope there's nobody to scam me if I do find one...

Well, I had no room in the Escort, so I had to use my Mom's buick for transport. Me, my friend, my pops, and the seller and his dad quickly shoved it in. Then me and my pops took it out solo. It is still on the garage floor for now, but when the room's done, I am getting a dolly and carefully rolling it in and afterwards degauss it yet again if necessary due to the move.Jaroof said::lol
Very good point. haha
You said yours is how heavy? 200 lbs?! How the hell did you carry that thing?
Damn, haha. Sounds like the only good luck you had was with that TV! Even delivering it sounds like a pain. hahaHUELEN10 said:Well, I had no room in the Escort, so I had to use my Mom's buick for transport. It could barely hit in the back seat. I still don't know how we pulled it off...
I need a truck.
Oh, may I add that it was raining that day too? Covered the thing in oil drum liners so it would not get wet. Made it harder to get a grip on.
