This is basically a bigger and dumber version of Independence Day...
Watching in 4D, day one.
Watching in 4D, day one.
They won't. Because the first one wasn't great to begin with.
It needs to be its own kind of dumb fun. It can't just show up stupid and shrug.
I don't even think I care what the reviews will be. I saw the original in the theater and it is still to this day one of my most memorable movie going experiences ever. People were just into ID4 back when it came out. The movie was big, dumb fun, and I still enjoy watching it today in that context.
I'm seeing this on the big screen no matter what any reviewer says!
I love the original Independence Day but this looks as bad as 2012, San Andreas, and other disaster movies where 90% of the film is mindless CGI destruction.
Do people really sit in theaters and ooh and aah over this?
Dead Will Smith makes me sad.
Big Willie whyyyyyy?
Goldblum is regretting signing that contact with apartments.com right about now.
Seriously, if they picked up Dubai, and are dropping it on London, that's game over. Ultron would be pissed they ran with his idea (while Tim Taylor'ing it to the MAX)
This is either gonna underperform or be real big. No in between.
I wonder if Goldblum will use an Android phone this time.
I can't see him anymore and not think of Tim and Eric tbh
You pick the parking lot.The Patriot was legit good.
Fight me?
Director Roland Emmerich mentions that the sequel is more complex and more dark...

So far the companies that are in charge of the ID Resurgence visual effects are :
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weta_Digital
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scanline_VFX
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moving_Picture_Company
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinesite
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_Engine
It looks like pure CGI spam-a-vision, but it's pretty fucking epic looking.
So, uh - in 20 years since ID4, we were able to learn how to use their technology to make the whole planet more sci-fi looking?
Impressive.
And I guess the President was re-elected to 4 more terms?
You pick the parking lot.
He'll have to since Apple won't allow his app on the store and the Mac Pro hasn't been updated in years.
identical reaction here"We have touchdown over the Atlantic"
"Which part?"
"All of it!"
=D
This is going to be horrible and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna love every minute of it.

That's the line of the decade.
No, not an Android device. It'll be whatever iteration of the PS4 they'll have in 20 years...infused with alien-tech, of course. He'll be using a crazy advanced alien-tech infused Android device.
The first movie was the Citizen Kane of Jeff Goldblum/Will Smith alien invasion movies involving the White House getting blown up.
I expect this to be no different.
Whoa, hold up.
"I believe that, like me, the people behind these robberies are extreme athletes." Is still king for now.

You can also add Uncharted Territory to that list. They're actually the lead studio on this one.
Goddamn feels like I watched the cliffnotes version of the whole movie in this trailer.
Point Break 2015
I'm not feeling this.
I wonder if Goldblum will use an Android phone this time.

Will Smith made a big mistake not taking this and going with Suicide Squad.
I don't even think Suicide Squad looks bad and I want it to be good, but yeah, this looks more fun and looks more like a movie that's up his alley
