Dastardly and Heretic, this subject may have been discussed before
yesss?..
but I want your opinion on Carlyle.
HA HA... ENJOY SUCKERS!
There is a part of me that is increasingly jealous of the Ducks and their phenomenal record, mostly because this record has arisen from Carlyle's firing and Boudreau's hiring.
What has allowed the Ducks to make such a big improvement over last year? Bottom feeder to one of the league's best?
Well... *
cough*... basically... All we do is ween ween, and it seems to be fact of,
no matter what.
BUT HOW IS THAT RELEVANT?
Well by now you've figured out that it's Bruce Boudreaus Ducks.
BUT WAIT, HE DELIVERED NO CUPS TO WASHINGTON AND CARLYLE DID, HOW IS THAT SO?
Because Bob Murray didn't deliver a cup winning schematic that had chemistry with Brian Burkes plan of how a SC championship should look to Boudreau. He said "Here's my roster" then giggled and went on holidays...
BUT WHA WHA WHAAAAAA?
Yes, you heard right, just because you have Brian Burke doesn't make you a championship team. You need a chemistry that's betweeen the GM and the Coach to know not only what your teams system and plan are, but how they deal with each situation they come across. Barstool Bob gave Boudreau a shit load of talent and said "make it work".
So what happens if the on-ice product doesn't work?
Well it isn't the coaches fault is it? It's the GMs fault that he didn't deliver enough talent.
But it's simple... we kill the Batman Betman the COACH!
Yeah, you keep doing that... See how it works out for you.
Orrr... That's the obvious signal for a team to rebuild or retool. But here we are in 2013 where we have:
- Viktor Fasth (a pure Barstool Bob signing because he kept his eye on the SEL)
- Bobby Ryan (a Brian Burke product that was in the doghouse under Carlyle yet flourishes under Boudreau)
- Teemu Selanne
- Saku Koivu
- Ryan Getzlaf (freshly signed)
- Corey Perry (freshly trade bait but contract year - how versatile!)
- Francois Beauchemin (... Oh... can you please remind me how Jake Gardiner is doing?)
Also, re: the Lupul and Beauchemin trade. It burns me to see him to do so well. I wanted him to succeed in Toronto but I guess he got fucked by Wilson. He was horrible in Toronto. Hopefully when Lupul returns he can start ripping it up with Kadri and thus usher in a new set of "fleeced" messages from Leafs fans.
Ah that's right, thank you, thank you, no really... Thank YOU!
As well as...
- Cam Fowler (fell in Barstool Bobs lap due to draft luck)
- Jonas Hiller (Wow, it took this long to get to him? Really?)
- Kyle Palmieri (Hey Sophomore Stud!)
- Sheldon Souray
- Luca Sbisa (A product of a trade of Pronger, who has now flourished and is producing FANTASTICALLY)
And, oh boy this is embarrassing... We haven't even reached our bottom pairings and prospects yet...
Haha, you mean a bunch of scrubs I've never heard of!
True, you haven't. So go look up the stats for...
- Daniel Winnik (Barstool Bob signing)
- Nick Bonino (A fantastic prospect that was a throw-in with an SJ trade)
- Emerson Etem (our orginal first round draft pick, that Barstool Bob managed to pick up because nobody wanted Fowler or him)
And you'll see exactly where a team should deliver where it matters,
when it matters.
And "Toronto will receive a fourth-round pick if Joffrey Lupul is on the roster for less than 40 games in the 2012–13 season with the club. If he plays 40 or more, Toronto will receive a sixth-round pick." I hope this is true.
Oh yeah, that guy. Yeah I guess he might finally be able to certify you a playoff spot. Finally.
But if you'll excuse us, we'll be over
here
1. The Anaheim Ducks will finish the season with the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference
Chicago's run to start the season was amazing, but the Blackhawks won a lot of close games and they are going to miss Patrick Sharp for the next couple of weeks. Anaheim has had pretty solid luck with injuries, but the Ducks are clearly deeper than they've been the past couple of years.
The Ducks have enough cap space in 2013-14 to accommodate Perry and Ryan Getzlaf with $8 million-plus cap hits and Bobby Ryan at $5.1 million, and Anaheim has a chance to win the Cup this season.
