NHL Playoffs |OT2| stay salty, my friends

Cooke is an evil genius, clearly.

I would say so. To be able to continue playing in the NHL for this long when your sole purpose in the game is to attempt to end careers of opposing star players and delivery injuries does take quite a bit of genius. The Karlsson incident isn't even the first time when he got away with crippling a player.

The Karlsson incident wasn't intentional, but was more of a freak accident. Cooke hasn't done anything intentionally heinous in two seasons.

You legs aren't supposed to be leaving the ice when you do a check. Even if it was an accident, it was reckless play. Given his history, the incident should have had him thrown out of the league. Goon taking out star players and feigning accident is just part of the job, no matter if it is true or not.

Someone is gunning for Smash88's throne.

There is no evidence that what Cooke did was intentional. Therefore all we can assume is that it's an accident. However, you're saying that even if it was an accident, he should be thrown out of the league. I think that's a totally unreasonable viewpoint. Every player is skating on razor sharp blades and they're crashing into each other at 40 kilometres per hour. There is bound to be some accidents with skate blades... When a teammate stepped on Taylor Hall's face and cut his forehead, was that a reckless and suspendable offense? When Phaneuf's upper thigh was cut a couple of years ago by the skate blade of (correct me if I'm wrong) an Ottawa Senators player, was that a reckless and suspendable offense?

If you have a history of violent and aggressive behavior and have been suspended from the league multiple times then yes, reckless play leading to severe injury regardless if it is deliberate or not should have you thrown out of the league. Cooke has made his entire career doing this.

Apple, we have Cooke's word that he didn't intentionally lift his skate and drive it into Karlsson's leg.

He also sent crying apologies to Karlsson over twitter. He is really good at his job.

Shit happens and skates sometimes end up in awkward positions. It sucks for Karlsson. A lot. But I maintain that it was a freak accident, regardless of Melnyk thinking otherwise.

And once again, I don't doubt you that it is an accident. I just think given his history, it should not matter. Reckless play should be enough for officials to tell him to gtfo of the NHL.

come in my shame circle
Alucard you're going to look really stupid when Melnyk unveils his conclusive proof before the start of game 3.

Complete tide turner, Sens go on to win 4 straight as the Pens are too shocked by the findings.

I heard the police will be on hand to escort Matt Cooke out of the arena and straight into jail.

The accidents you posted are nothing like what Cooke did. And that, for me, is what's so weird about the incident: Cooke was in total control, wasn't being hit - and he manages to stamp down on Karlsson.

Shit. :(

Done talking about this, as nothing is going to change.

I'm not trying to push any sort of agenda. That was a follow-up to my other post in which I said "correct me if I'm wrong" when I mentioned a Senator cut Phaneuf's leg. Please try to keep up. I didn't say it was Regin's fault. I'm merely saying that accidents happen.

There is absolutely no similarity between your example and the Karlsson incident at all...
In the Karlsson hit, Cooke skated up behind Karlsson and lifted his leg up and jammed it into Karlsson's achiles tendon area before he even made contact with the body check. The replay is at 1:00

There's a hockey game in an hour and fifteen minutes, guys.

80wings.jpg, Cleary with a hatty, Smith with 2 goals and a 5 game suspension, Abby with 2 goals and three injuries, Howard with 1 goal shooting the puck down the ice and defies gravity and goes in the top corner.

I might miss the game, going to be going out with a friend to go look for hockey gear since stuff is on clearance right now.

Nobody ruins my family vacation but me...and maybe the boy!
He played 15min last night, I think thats his lowest since his rookie season.

Sit him or put him on the 3rd pairing sheltered minutes with PP minutes, you cant have him going up against Crosby again, he cant even skate backwards anymore
.

Also sit out Michalek, what a useless cunt this guy has been, yeah sure hes playing on 1 leg but damn hes always injured when we need him the most. Put in Stone, he cant be as slow as Michalek has been.

I agree with this, I'd still have him on the PP because he doesn't have to move much, but, 5 on 5, he should get limited time on the ice like last night.

The fact that a lot of his passes weren't even connecting yesterday is a clear indication that something's wrong.

And I agree with sitting Michalek but I disagree with putting Stone in. Stone would get absolutely demolished by Pittsburgh's speed, the guy is as slow as molasses and he really needs to work on his skating this summer. I would like to maybe see Da Costa or Hoffman slot in.

Stop shitting on my team. Start shitting on my finger.
Sweden beat Finland 3-0 at the World Championship semis.

The other semi between unbeaten 8-0 Switzerland and the US coming off an 8-3 win over Russia begins in 45mins, for anyone interested.

Still haven't heard the new Daft Punk. I'm a casual fan. More interested in hearing the new album from The National at some point this week.

All this music you younguns listen to is...meh. It's not bad, but it's so boring. We had boring music in the 90s, too, but we didn't hype it up so much.

Get off my lawn, etc.
