Nintendo allegedly sells through 3 million units within 24 hours.

Crazy they must have had a lot of stock in stores. This was a somewhat great system launch in terms of availability. The best in a long time.

For perspective, no console has come close to that level of sales in 24 hours. Over a 24 hour launch, the previous record was held by PS4, which sold just over 1m units worldwide.
That's insane. IF true of course.

I really hope we don't get arrogant Nintendo this gen. They need to provide plenty of great exclusives in combination with strong third-party support. If they do that I think this could very well become my favourite Nintendo console, perhaps even rivaling PS2.

Deserving for a company that really retains all there exclusives as exclusives. No multiplatform and no pc porting of Nintendo exclusives, good job Nintendo even if I'm a bit disappointing they fell the woke twisted gender ideology of removing male and female choices for Mii.

I've been watching you argue with a lot of fools these past number of weeks about the Switch 2.

It's comical to see how wrong people were about this console.

This system is seriously way more capable than people realize. Really looking forward to seeing what devs can do with this once they get some time under their belts.

I mean .. they're probably gonna sell through as many as they can shove up the retail channels ass.

Problem they have imo is they released a lot of wii and wii u games on the switch to pad out the first party stuff.

I feel like that well is dry now outside of full blown remakes.

I think well see a lot of last gen third party ports filling the gaps and a lot less first party this time around.

No way we see a mainline Zelda until 2030 for example imo

Didn't Japan alone have 2.2 million pre-orders? Even if only 1.5 million of those sold, achieving 1.5 million or more globally wouldn't be that difficult.

According to some reports only ~1.2 million were available for the Japan market at launch.

Would love to be one of those 3 milly. But got life things to take care of first. Will absolutely have one by the time Pokemon drops in October though.

Trust me when I tell you it's all downhill from here, my friends. Nintendo done fukked up with the Switch 2 launch.

I hope we see a lot of games from Nintendo that have a gameplay time of 10-20 hours. That length often means that I have a much bigger desire to replay a game several times. When it's 50-60 like Ghost of Tsushima or BotW I feel one and done with them. I don't want less quality, just more unique and excellent games that are shorter so that Nintendo can release more during the gen.

Of course, I know that even those games take time to produce, but it's better to get six shorter games during a two year period than two bigger games. Especially when it's for a handheld like the Switch 2, they shouldn't try to compete with Big Console like Microsoft and Sony. I want more shortburst handheld games than what I got with Switch One.

I mean, it was nice to have a new system launch that I was actually excited about. I'm sure a lot of other people felt the same way.

Agreed. A quick level on Mario while taking a crap is what i want from this system.

Hand cramps and carpal tunnel syndrome from 12 hours on Zelda is a pass from me.

No way it wouldn't have a juggernaut of a launch coming off the Switch 1 which had strong sales even after 8 years and topped 155 million in that period.

Switch 2 is likely going do crazy numbers for a while.
