Gives all the fucks
Yup, eShop's currently unavailable. I tried doing my daily check-in for Pokemon Shuffle & kept getting errors, so I looked them up on Nintendo's site.

It's slowly coming back. This wasn't expected maintenance. Web stuff is working now, so I imagine eShop won't be far behind.

Cloud + Midgar stage is now available as a download in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS or Wii U for $5.99 each, or for both game versions together for $6.99.
Minecraft: Wii U Edition – Mojang’s video game phenomenon Minecraft launches worldwide in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U. The downloadable game comes with some of the most popular add-on content packs. Players will even be able to expand their experience with 16 additional add-on packs available for purchase in the Nintendo eShop at launch. Additionally, only the Wii U console edition features off-TV play. Experience all the adventures you’ve come to expect from creating your own worlds in Minecraft, now on Wii U.
TEMPLE OF YOG – Enter the TEMPLE OF YOG and battle your way through two linked dungeons by using the Wii U GamePad controller to peer into and swap between the realms of Light and Shadow. Unlock relics, embark on challenging quests and upgrade four classes in this twin-stick retro roguelike RPG. Click here to view a trailer for the game.

Virtual Console on Wii U

Mega Man Zero 4 – Dr. Weil has taken over Neo Arcadia and ordered any Maverick opposing his rule to be marked for extermination. Take up arms as Zero, equipping new weapons to use in battle. Choose Easy or Normal Mode, which affects the difficulty level, weather and skills obtained.
Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Colonel / Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Protoman – Dr. Regal and his cronies from Nebula HQ have returned and raided SciLab. It’s up to Lan and Mega Man to return the stolen PETS to their rightful owners. For anyone getting BN5, Colonel is usually considered the better version. (It released later, has better souls and a more complete ending.) It's not as blatant as BN3 Blue vs White, though.

Will hopefully be able to grab Dark Witch 2 during my lunch.

Wonder what price Mercenaries Saga 2 is gonna be. It was already pretty cheap (~$6 I think?) and has had some pretty good praise from what I've read. Might pick it up.

Cross posting from the Xenoblade X thread so I don't accidentally see spoilers in there:

Not looking through the thread since I want to stay as clean as possible, but I've got a question to ask:

I have an Mii/account on my Wii U and 3DS both linked with my NNID and use the Internet/eShop with. The missus has a 3DS linked with her NNID and she has a Mii/account on the Wii U but it isn't linked with her NNID. We have the disc version of Xenoblade X, data packs to be downloaded.

If you can only have one Xenoblade X save slot per account, and she has an account on the Wii U and wants to use the online functionality, there's no downside to her also linking their NNID to the same Wii U as mine since she doesn't have a Wii U of her own right? She should be able to have her own save file and still use the online stuff and data packs with her save of the game, yeah?

Should be fine. The only case where this gets awkward is if she wants to move her account to a different Wii U at some point.

Yea it's totally fine. My buddy has an NNID on my Wii U so it tracks his race data for MK8 when we play online together with us two doing splitscreen.

Just know that you can't untangle her NNID from the Wii U without calling up Nintendo should she get her own one at some point for whatever reason. Another way around it would be to make a third Mii account with a new NNID that you just use for XCX and nothing else (without linking it to the 3DS NNID).

All those Curve sales, I got Fast Racing Neo, have been playing Super Mario Maker more or less daily, considered getting Minecraft and still, the thing I'd like to buy and play the most is NSMB. What's wrong with me?

Should be fine. The only case where this gets awkward is if she wants to move her account to a different Wii U at some point.

We're not planning to get a second one, but I thought something like having to call Nintendo to unlink it might come up.

I didn't realise that worked for MK8, I've had her playing as guest online the whole time.

Might do the throwaway NNID idea, I can completely delete that from the system without having to format the Wii U right?

Yes, individual accounts can be deleted from the system (and Nintendo's servers if you so desire).

That said, if you don't foresee a situation coming up where you'd want to unlink the NNID from the the system, using her main NNID should be fine.

Gives all the fucks
Anyone wanna vouch for Karous - Beast of Re:Eden? I remember hearing "meh" reactions to it, & it's only $2 off, so wanna see what people thought of it, considering there's a few games I'd get on PSN.

Also I keep seeing Legend of Dark Witch go on sale, but damn, I want to see if that Vita version comes to the US.

Also wasn't Steel Empire suppose to go on sale for 1/2 off?

I'm planning on picking this up on Wii U whenever I see a physical copy around that price. Be forewarned that the Wii U version doesn't have screenshot support for Miiverse for whatever reason.

But generally speaking I've heard good things, it's a competent platformer and it's got that licensed Peanuts charm. Haven't tried it myself yet though.

I haven't been paying attention, does Minecraft have two player with one on the Gamepad, one on the TV?

New Super Mario Bros. is actually one of the main DS games I want to get on the Wii U. I dunno why, I just like the thought of having heaps of 2D Mario games from many different consoles all available to play on my TV. And this is the first time for the original NSMB being able to play it on TV.

Super Princess Peach next please!

And while you're at it, make a sequel!

Hey guys. Leaving for a trip shortly and I want to pick up a digital game for my OG 3DS. Haven't really kept up with the Nintendo digital scene so I have no idea what I'm looking for. I have 10,000 blocks to work with and the only digital games of note I own are Harmoknight and Moon Chronicles.

Crimson Shroud looks interesting, but how easy is it to get into?

Pretty easy, but it is short as hell. The only part of the game with any length is a random grind against skeletons for a key. It's otherwise great if you love amazing short stories and the idea of fake playing D&D.

Check out SteamWorld Heist. Just came out and it's been really well received. I loved it.
