I am REALLY excited for this, ands specifically for the music of these new Zelda. I don't see it mentioned often, but music is a big part of as new Zelda to me.

While Nintendo confirmed that NX will be a no-show at e3, do we know for sure that we won't see a NX version of the new Zelda game?
Kinda strikes me as odd that the game is gonna release on both systems at the same time but not having any information on the superior version. Unless NX is
another
disaster, I am definitely getting the new Zelda as a launch game for NX.

It's not odd. Showing a game before the console is odd.

How do you know it'll be a superior version? For all we know, it could just run it without touchscreen/Wii U gamepad options and nothing added.

Lol, i do see what you are saying there. WWHD sea exploration is really fun especially when i found some small island and it end up with me exploring the whole island to look for some secret. I just like some of those small bits.^_^

Well, all in all. It is always nice to see rare beings like us which really loved TFH.^_^ So..... more power to both of us lol. Even when you don't like the puzzle section.^_^
I actually LOVE the Triforce Heroes puzzles! I loved that they were intuitive and required cooperation, quick thinking and reflexes, and chained/incremental logic.

When I entered a room in Triforce Heroes I didn't think "alright I have no idea where the puzzle is so first things first I need to FIND it and THEN I can start thinking of a puzzle" which I HATE. I love when puzzles in games lay out all of their pieces intuitively in front of you and are very clear about a path forward and it's up to you to put all of the pieces together. Like the puzzle rooms in the Zero Escape games or my favorite puzzle of all time, "Free The Innocent Man" or the Hanged Man puzzle in Silent Hill 2. This is also, to me, the difference between Portal 1 and Portal 2's puzzles (alongside Portal 2 being like 5 hours too long).

Also yes, I loved exploring in Wind Waker, I just wish the story gave me context to want to do it. The only exploration I did was in the Triforce Hunt, the rest of the game I just went from location to location in a straight line dealing with things that got in my way but never straying from the path.

Well they already confirmed that the game is coming out for the next system though. Which was also kinda odd ;-)

I am definitely expecting a visual upgrade, although its Nintendo we're talking about so who knows... My feeling is that all the delays of Zelda WiiU had to do with technical issues as well. The videos we've seen so far looked very impressive and I've been always doubtful that the WiiU could handle that. So I'm guessing they had to make some compromises to make it run on WiiU. And I'd expect them to do without these compromises on NX.

Twilight Princess was a bit of a different story because the Wii was esentially the Gamecube spec wise, so we couldn't really expect a visual boost between the versions. I hope we can all agree that we do expect the NX to be significantly more powerful than the WiiU... So I don't think it's too far off expecting this to be reflected in the visuals of the NX version.

Why do I feel like the Zelda Stream will be the main highlight of E3 at least for Youtubers?
Sony and MS events did nothing for me, although there were some nice announcements and videos here and there.

I feel like the trailer will be created with NX footage - provided that NX version will be superior and not a straight port or downgrade for portable hardware, who knows - while all the demos will be Wii U-based.

None of the companies had exciting surprises or announcements to make

At most Microsoft revealed Project Scorpio ("announced" would be a better word) but it also tanked their Xbox One S reveal, so...

Sony had KokiPro's new game but that's about it

If Nintendo goes all out with Zelda, they have a chance to save this boring E3 ("if" is the keyword)

Link was fighting in the crusades?

Now we come to the biggest difference in the bunch. What we NES players knew as the “Magic Book” was actually called a “Bible” in the Japanese version!

What?? I'm a Nintendo and a Zelda fan...but Nintendo cannot compete with Sony conference in any way. An hour of new games, one after the other? And as big as God of War, Resident Evil, and The Last Guardian? I'm sorry, but Zelda won't be enough.

Let's keep the
hype
thread high!

Which previous races do you see appearing in this game?
I'd love to have the "classic" races back, Zora, Goron, Kokiri and Gerudo, but more fleshed out.
Since the game's art does use the Sheikah symbol, i'd fully expect them to play a bigger role in this game, so add those to my list.

About the Twili ... and this now is a personal thought, i expect them having been renegade Sheikah prior to getting locked up in the Shadow Realm, as the Sheikah always had a shadowy/dark image, Impa being the Sage of Shadows and all.

Zelda most definitely can compete with any of those. Nintendo's problem is that Zelda is probably the only truly relevant AAA game they are showing today.

Zelda could very much end up being game of E3 but I don't think its fair towards Nintendo to include them in the "who won E3" - at least in the last couple of years they had more going on with the lack of conference. One big AAA game, no matter how good just isn't enough to secure them that "victory" [not sure what winning E3 even means anymore]

Regardless, I'm excited.

It will be absolute irony if Zelda actually become the biggest game to see in this E3 after all Nintendo treatment to E3 lol.

Like, Nintendo don't give a damn about E3 and they still end up capturing the most attention lol.^_^

I feel embarrassed to be a gamer when I read all these discussions of who "won" E3. Can't we just appreciate the fact lots of great games are coming our way, no matter the console?

That's exactly what i'm saying. One huge game vs tons of huge games?

It depends on how the Zelda showing will fare throughout the presentation. It's not necessarily to compete, but to make headlines and buzz during and after E3. Nintendo has already conceded in "owning the show floor" or "who wins E3" so to speak with the NX no-show, but a strong Zelda presentation will make strong headlines for Nintendo. At the end of the day, their main audience right now are the much starving Zelda fans and Nintendo fans in general, which is still pretty huge.

Staying up for it. Starts at 2am here, but I doubt I'll sleep knowing new Zelda footage is being shown. Most excited to hear that new theme

2am here as well! Im going to sleep before, wake up to watch, then bed again. A Zelda reveal is a rare, rare thing that cant be missed.

Yeah as a whole they got no chance, they're saving the load for NX revealathon.
Which is, to our knowledge, probably going to be a standalone event without any trade show attached to it.

So it boils down to E³ 2017, where MS is going to show of Scorpio and Neo (probably) out in the wild with Sony doubling down on the Neo-mode to show their games. I don't say it's impossible, but it's hard to top the others next year.
Although E³ 2017 marks the spot where they have to show the 2017 games outside the launch window and future titles, so i hope they do show what they're working on.

After the dull Sony conference it would have been nice with a proper Nintendo presentation with more than one game; but oh well, hope Zelda looks good

Looks great what we saw so far (footage and promo art), but I desperately hope the green tunic is obtainable later in the game - if only as an alternative costume. I'm not sure I could enjoy the game without it :/

I thought Sony's press conference was excellent. The time spent on each game could perhaps have been decreased a bit, and the Crash segment was a bit mean, but overall I found it very amusing. God of War, Days Gone and Death Stranding were the highlights for me.

Of course a proper Nintendo presentation would be great, but something like that we will have to wait for a bit longer still.

I have to say I was pretty disappointed in Nintendo's E3 plans this year but as it gets closer and closer I am starting to feel that Zelda hype... give it to me!

After watching wave after wave of realistic scripted gameplay a nice colorful Zelda with quality non-gimmick gameplay would feel so good.

I hope we get some news on Rhythm Heaven, I pray it isn't an eShop only title.

I missed the indies and some lighthearted cartoony games. After all those big epic things it would have been really nice with some Nintendo stuff, but as it happens they'll just show their single most epic game, but hopefully it'll still have a radically different tone than most of the other big open world action games shown.

The Last Guardian was a big deal last E3, not so much now. God of War looks like a Naughty Dog game. Days Gone is not-The Last Of Us, Resident Evil VII is not-PT. No one cares about CoD. Crash is back (actually not really). At best, the VR games look okay and Kojima's new game is as Kojima as Kojima can be. None of these are negative points, it's only that it wasn't a conference that stands out compared to the others and it doesn't hold a candle to last year's.

Nintendo still has a chance to do something good. Let's just hope it won't just be Zelda and Pokémon.

Lmfao.. Good one.

I wouldn't call it dull but it wasn't particullary interesting for me in the most part. Gravity Rush 2 should've been at their showing but wasn't, that could've made it more interesting for me as I'm not that interested in any of the games they shown last night (and yes, I own a PS4).
