[IGN] Nintendo Switch 2 Outselling the OG Switch 2-to-1 Across the Globe; Fastest-selling Nintendo console ever in the U.S.

Your post is funny but he is kinda right though.

Switch 1 was very successful so by default the switch 2 will follow the hype of a new system.

It's up to Nintendo to keep people wanting to go and buy one. So yeah sales numbers 6 months / 1 year from now should be interesting.

If it follows the same track of the switch 1 or better, then it's safe to assume the console is positioning for success. If not, then they might wanna do something to entice people to buy one whatever software or reducing the price
Agree with you, but trying to say that 3.5 Million is just 4 days means nothing is just 🤡. Also i really doubt that Nintendo is going to fail in supporting the system with at least an exclusive every month and at least 2 big hitters every year.

Say what you about Nintendo being greedy and I even agree they can be greedy as much as any other company.

But they still make damn fun games that people want to play, for my taste they haven't stopped making games I enjoy.

Yeah and some people forget their low point for handheld install base is the ~78mn of the 3ds.

Unlike their consoles where 78mn would be closer to the high point and would only be behind the Wii.

A lot of casual gamers at my office think S2 is too expensive. I thought it was a easy upgrade after 8 years. I ain't casual though. For me it will be a Nintendo 1st party device just like the first one.

Someone could probably write a fairly good psychiatric thesis on Switch 2 haters.

I like what I have gotten from it already, and do see quite a bit of potential in this console compared to the Switch 1. Once the software ball gets rolling for Nintendo it's going to get really interesting to see what developers can do with this piece of hardware...Nintendo in particular. There's nothing wrong with the pricing on the system in my opinion. Sure it's not $299 but does everyone want a $299 Switch 2 that still can't do 4k/60fps depending on the title?

But the system is not going to be for everyone as we can already see in the numerous Switch 2 topics. You'd think Nintendo killed the first born of some posters here. Sure Nintendo is greedy, but then again so is Sony and Microsoft. They all just go about it different ways. You always have a choice though, no one is forcing you to play in each of the various console ecosystems. Don't like one company, go somewhere else for games.

People like Nintendo; some REALLY love em or hate em, irrationally so. Expect the next narrative to be Switch 2's immense popularity hurts gaming because it will extend cross-gen development from most third parties to accommodate its specs for the foreseeable future, it'll be new Series S "hamstringing" it's bigger peers all over again.
Out of my ass prediction #41: Witcher 4 will find its way to the Switch 2 before launch and its eventual completely unrelated downgrade will be blamed on the Switch 2.

I know it's a failure and a laughing stock, but I got Wii U day 1 and had some of my best gaming memories on that system. Nintendo Land is some of the best local multiplayer hilarity I've ever experienced.

Absolutely adored the Wii U for its fantastic library and unique experiences, and Yoshi's Woolie World was the first game I played through with my daughter from start to finish, so I have incredible memories of that game and will always hold it in extremely high regard.

Port Woolie World Nintendo! It's the best Yoshi game by far and deserves another chance.

Strange. For a console that is selling so well, I see an awful lot of availability. Constantly getting "in-stock" notifications from Wario64, and the scalpers, even at a mere $50 markup, are sitting on piles of systems.

Things aren't adding up here.

Maybe, just maybe Nintendo made shit loads of stock and have been for ages as it was rumoured it was going to launch last year.

What's not adding up? You're describing a textbook case of high demand being met by equally high stock.

It may seem weird because we're so used to shortages early in a system's life, but this is the reality for the vast majority of consumer goods. If you want something, you go to the store and buy it, and only notice if it's out of stock. Shortages are an indicator of supply chain problems, not a reliable way to judge demand.
It's unusual for the supply to meet the demand for an item like this, but perhaps it's to Nintendo's credit. I just expected serious shortages everywhere and that's now what we're seeing.

They've been talking about wanting to make sure they'd have enough units to avoid shortages at launch for years now. They did what they said they would. The bar has been raised, it's on the others to follow their lead now.

Only two 'new' games are MK World and Fast Fusion. Rest are ports or upgrades.

Great if you never owned any other console

Bad if you own a XSX or PS5 and have already played these ports years ago
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma wasn't a port. Neither were Survival Kids or Deltarune Chapter 3 and 4.

That was a fun game! My wife loved it too. I still have the Yoshi wooly Amiibo

And all of that outside of holiday season. I guess it might be momentum inheritance from Switch 1's awesomeness.. let's see how it holds up for the rest of the year.
Between now and the end of the year, they will sell as many as they can produce.

Same bro, in fact I think we may have three of them haha. One of the most criminally underappreciated Ninty titles in the history of the company for my money, there wasn't one part of that game that I didn't adore. It was just.....cozy.

At least someone in console business knows what to do & what console gamers want.
You have clowns like Xbox & Sony chasing GAS games & slaughter over PC space.
And you have real console making company what dominate market with almost 10 year old hardware(in terms of horse power).
