The leaker wouldn't know that unless the physical stand he was setting up specifically said "this is a port!"
If he can describe gameplay details or games then he would be able to tell the difference between a sprite based game and a 3D remake.

There's absolutely no way it's a port (if it's real). None. Why would a Virtual Console game be playable?
I guess it could be that HD remake from last gen, but I doubt it.
But I also doubt it exists, period.
Let's make this interesting;
1) What could be shown that would make this a deal breaker for many?
What could be shown to make you run out day one and buy this thing no matter what?

Wait I wake up to Splatoon 2 being a thing
Day 1
Also, even if it's a "port", the suggestion of the title "The Final Challengers" means new characters. An actual update to SF2 would be huge. There's absolutely no way it's a port (if it's real). None. Why would a Virtual Console game be playable?

That's cause Next Level Games is working on something else![]()

This I didn't know.Well the list is only the games playable. There will of course be more announcements and games shown, but just not playable.

You have no clue if it's one or the other.
They could remake the game using sprites too.
If the handheld mode stays in low power mode even when the AC is connected. I primarily want this to play in bed or when I'm not at home but near a power socket but I want the full crunch then.
As someone that owned a Wii U day 1... I won't be buying a game I already played no matter what new content it has. Zbotw is the only game I see myself purchasing right now on launch.
How do you know it's an SNES game? They don't specify which version of SF2 it is.
I already posted this but this needs to come back.

The name is clearly indicative of a port and there's no mention of any updated artwork.
Also even if you insist it's not a SNES game it's still ancient.

Rayman or something else that was rumored to be a port.
Nowhere did she say it was one of her previously rumored Wii U ports that was not a port. One of the, not my.
I prefer to call it timeless. Also even if you insist it's not a SNES game it's still ancient.

Do you not own a PS4? If third party is so important to you, I'm kind of surprised if you don't, especially if third party games are more important to you than Nintendo's output.

Have Amazon worked out their differences with Nintendo? For the longest time they weren't directly selling Nintendo systems so wondering if it's worth logging on at 10 to preorder or if I should just go to gamestop?
People are excited over Splatoon / Mario Kart / Skyrim / etc.? Can't you buy them on platforms you own?People are excited over street fighter 2? Can't you buy that on your VC?

SF2 remade in SFV engine...

There is no existing version of "Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers" for them to do a straight port. If it was just a port of an existing version with minor tweaks, they would just say as such like with every other single rerelease of SF2 (re: SSFT2 HD Remix)The name is clearly indicative of a port and there's no mention of any updated artwork.

There's no version of Street Fighter II called "The Final Challengers".
Not a port.
That's what I'm thinking. Best bet is that USF2 is stock SSF2 Turbo or Hyper SF2 with extra characters. Like a $20 download title.Yeah, if it's a full-blown update of the final arcade version of SFII, that would be pretty sweet.

edit: interpreted it as "deal break for you"
Dealbreaker for many people would probably be DRM/Region Locked/BOTW looking worse then on WiiU

Ports can have new titles/content.
No one will care if it looks like a 25 year old game. Not when SFV exists.

You are really hating on Street Fighter 2 now. Doesn't your shtick bore you sometimes?
wait, are we back to Region Lock being a thing or are people just saying worst-case scenarios
I don't see what's ridiculous about hating on a game I played 20 years ago being the flagship 3Rd party games, new content or not.
