A 70 average isn't a bad game.
I expected 7s. I said that before the game was released. It's a weird game and not for everyone. If you're trying to sum up whether someone should buy it, a 7 is a safe score.

Depending on the species they can have different reactions, so I'm looking forward to doing this extensively on my explorer playthrough on PC.
Thus far I've only tried it once, made a little squirrel-goat happy. Then I killed him. He shouldn't have trusted me.
Have some carbon handy, go up to them and hold square. How do you feed them?
There is a prompt (press square) to give them "food" - 10 carbon in my case. Then it showed a smiley face emoji above its head, and followed me around for a while. How do you feed them?
Yeah, apparently you can't backtrack. I wish I had known that.
OK Gaf, I think I have a problem. I played this game 10h and I'm still on my first planet. There is always a new point of interest...

Edit: I had a little dog like creature last night shit gold for me.
It's not necessarily carbon but yeah, it'll tell you if you can feed them and what. How do you feed them?
Just wanted to reiterate this this is absolutely false. In fact, I carved a smiley face into a rock, flew to the next system, backtracked to the previous system, and found that the rock still has a smiley face in it after leaving the system.
It can be hard to back track to the same system, given how many stars there are.
At least now we know that changes really do persist, even if you leave the system.
Personally Ive seen from 300k to 20 million(with 36 slots or so). Im not that deep in either
If you're lucky, the stars are aligned, and the servers work. Or something. My previous systems don't exist on my galaxy map anymore.

I can't believe what I'm reading about in the legendary NMS MP thread. I mean, we're giving Sean shit for his Twitter handle now too.
My dog passed away Sunday and I named my home planet after her. It was by far the most lush in the system so I spent a lot of time there. I got this same exact feeling as I was about to make my second warp.
Quoting this for future reference. If you hit up on the dpad in the galaxy map, it initiates a scan. Then keep hitting right on the dpad to advance to previous discoveries and eventually you should find your home system. After that, hit square on it to save it as a waypoint.
How much better can your scanner get?
Feels like it doesn't detect anything beyond a small distance, and the icons highlighting everything disappear after not too long. Also feel like it is hard to tell which flora/fauna you have discovered vs. not.
Also flying around close to the surface, I can't scan for shit. Doesn't help that it is difficult to look at what you are flying over due to the cockpit shape/camera control.
That said: has anyone been using per pre-order ship? Does it really make a big difference?
Such a toxic thread full of reactionary goofballs. Sticking to OT from now on, as well.
I'm on a planet, super far from my ship. How do I easily get back without dieing? Only way is to die? I don't want to lose all my shit.
Explore. You might find a space station with a beacon that will summon the ship to your location.I'm on a planet, super far from my ship. How do I easily get back without dieing? Only way is to die? I don't want to lose all my shit.

I made a bunch of warp cells but no one is taking them. How come? I even went to the trading post still doesn't show when I sell it.
Quick question regarding the Anomaly Stations
In one, I've chosen to take a shortcut through the black hole, and now my waypoint to Atlas is SUPER far away, so does that mean I keep jumping toward the center until I find another Anomaly Station and request to get back on the path of Atlas? Also, has anyone requested resources to help on travel from that same NPC? What does he give you?

Well the title already gave it a pre determined path.I think the OP got the thread he wanted with that one...
