If I go to the redeem bonus content menu will it automatically redeem all of the Gamestop stuff or can I choose to redeem everything but the ship?
People are making a big deal about redeeming the ship before you learn the hyperdrive. It's really not that big a deal. If you accepted the Atlas and then claimed your ship, it will immediately skip forward to using the hyperdrive to warp to a new system. Once there you will meet an alien that will give you the hyperdrive blueprint and another that will give you the antimatter blueprint. All you have to do is check with every alien you meet (including star ships at space stations and trading posts) to see if they have any antimatter to sell for your initial warp and you're good.

The only thing that can completely screw you over is if you claim the pre order ship and then swap it for a ship without a hyperdrive before learning the blueprint. Don't do that.

Go to the nearest space station. Sometimes the attendant there will give you the option to repair your ship, given you're in good standing with the race. I've only found two other ways to repair your ship:

  • Save & Restart the Game
  • Warp to a New System
I'm not at home, but I have some other theories that I'm going to confirm tonight.

Thanks, this was driving me crazy. I got into a battle last night and was stuck on three ship health packs for hours.

Hmm okay I'll try that then.

Also how do you increase the survival milestones? I've spent plenty of time on extreme weather planets and it's never gone up.

Hey friends, I have a code from preordering the game, but I'm not planning to use it. First person to quote this post that wants it can have. Here's the description text, idk if there are different preorder bonuses out there:

"Explore the universe using a Rezosu Z65 Multi-Tool, 10,000 units Starting Bonus and an Upgraded Alpha Vector Ship."
I'll take it if its still available.

How do you 100% a planet? I'm back at at my starting planet trying to do just that. I have a voice in me telling me that I should do it there (not really, but I really want to), but I have some stuff missing. Is it just animal species, or...?

I believe it's just animal species. In the "Discoveries" tab there will be a list of "?????????" in the right side window. Just scan all of the creatures you find, and it should start to complete. Once you've scanned all of the creatures, you get 100% completion. I don't think you have to scan plants, but I scan them anyway because I want the money!

I still have 5 more discoveries to make before I'm done with this moon. I can't wait to get home!

I like the color palette of that planet! And hm, you know I've visited five planets so far and I've never gotten a prompt to feed any creature. Admittedly there's only been two that were chill enough to let me walk up to them, the rest ran away or tried to kill me.

Uh oh, aggressive monsters are that common? I've been to three planets so far and scanned most of the wildlife and all were peaceful, lovely little critters.

Well, except for this Princess Mononoke Xerneas deer that king hit me as I got out of my ship. It was easy to kill though.

I found this monstrosity on a desolate world. Seemed out of place.

Looks like a monitor lizard turning into a werewolf.

If I already built a hyperdrive and am on like the third galaxy can I redeem the pre-order ship?

Or is it not worth it over the starter ship

That's cool. Are the moons actually classified as a "moon" on the discoveries list, or are they all planets as far as the game is concerned?

I had to force feed it as it kept running away.

It depends on if you like the look and one more slot at your disposal.

I redeemed it just to get rid of the redeem message...plus I liked the design. XD

I'd say the ratio I've seen so far is about 80% peaceful, 20% dangerous. But most of the peaceful ones have been skittish and just run off as soon as I walk towards them. People are having different experiences though, some planets seem to heavily skew towards nightmare mode.

So I went through a black hole and it said I traveled over a million light years, but the Centre is still like 140,000 away. Black holes are confusing

My original starter planet (on my now-defunct save) had nothing friendly on it, animal vegetable or mineral. Radioactivity does that to a place I guess.

What are those strange noises when walking around the planets? Sounds like whales. Can't find the source.

Heard it means caves are near.

It really annoys me that I can't play it at midnight on PC. I'm in UK as is Hello Games and having to wait until tomorrow afternoon is a right kick in the bollacks.

PAH!

If I see a ship I like, but hate the layout of its conponents, I can dismantle them and rebuild, right?

You can dismantle mods, but not the actual cores.

But here's a protip: dismantle all the mods in your old ship before buying a new one. You'll get some mats back, but more importantly the ships will be cheaper because they try to roughly match your old ship. Then you'll be able to have more control over the layout. Of course this will possibly require hunting down some rare materials for higher level mods.

Damn, good tip.

This new ship looks pretty baller. Bought it mainly because I love red and it looked big and bulky. Has 30 slots too. Only minor nitpick is that the cockpit is so high up that every time I exit it, I take some fall damage to my shield lol.

This game is....ADDICTIVE!

I've been addicted to running and boosting long distances and across caverns/cliffsides. I spent an hour doing just that yesterday.

The running feels great. The way the camera bobs gives a good feeling of movement. And when you're boosting near an incline, if you hit the ground, it almost feels like your character is giving a bit of a push-off with its feet. I love the on-foot controls.

i see one similar was going to setme back 2.9 mil how bad was the sting on that one ?

So i got the preorder ship and almost immediately used it to jump forward a few stars before hunkering down and doing more planetary exploring.

I've found a lot of stuff, upgraded my equipment, and am really enjoying the game.

But there's some kind of mission type suggestion thing in the corner that tells me to go to a space station. I've been to a lot of space stations. Did I miss some trigger by jumping ahead a bit?

I've also read about the blueprints I missed, and I indeed don't have them.

I'm about 6 hours in so would hate to lose my progress, but should I just delete my save and restart? It sounds like I missed the whole tutorial and maybe the start of an actual quest or something?

The coolest thing happened to me earlier. I was still in the first galaxy. Had the means to leap to the next galaxy if I chose but I decided to explore a bit more. Ended up finding a crashed ship that was infinitely superior to my starting craft. After a short time I was able to find the parts needed to repair the beast and claim it as my own. I'm now cruising around in an absolutely monstrous space ship and it feels awesome. I love this game

Don't remember the exact units but somewhere around that seems right. Money is not an issue for me cause I spent some hours farming my vortex cube planet. I fully maxed out my exo suit, bought this ship and still have 3 million to spare.

Jesus that was the most annoying planet. Toxic rain was pretty mild, but the entire planet was just made of mountains. Made traversing a pain. Not to mention there were not that many outposts in the area I landed - I found 3 monoliths before I finally stumbled upon a waypoint that led me to an outpost. Sheesh. At least there was gold to mine.

The boost jump is probably the funnest thing. And TRIPLES your traversal speed.

I hardly ever go in there. And its a shame too because everybody has torches and pitchfork with nothing but assumption.

There is an initial quest line to introduce you to the game using the pre order ship causes you to skip alot of it, you can get the blueprints from RNG, i got the hyperdrive from going to a manufacturing plant and solving the problem there even though i already had it from the quest, you can find them easy by using one of the those orange beams at an outpost and searching for colony outposts.

Starting to get a bit annoying for me as i have been getting dupes 90% of the time when it comes to blueprints guess its telling me to push on lol. I have been on this same moon for 3 whole nights now.

got that transmission fluid recipe on my freaking starter planet. 50 carbon a pop. get on my level

That's cool but if you get the Atlas V1 Bypass card (or whatever its called) from Dado and Mccool (or whatever they're called) you can open the cannisters that are next to pretty much all landing pads and bases. In those cannisters are ingredients for making fuel cells.

For me Dado and Mccool were in an anomaly around the second or third system I flew to while following the Atlas or tutorial stuff. I only had to do a small task for them to award me the pass.

I have a massive abundance of fuel cells, needless to say.

Is it just a little tutorial quest line or does it feed in to something bigger?

Also will this message telling me to go to a space station ever go away?
