That is one of the biggest drop offs to a franchise that I've seen. That's a 2-5m per game franchise, most of which sell 4 million. If it's anywhere near that mark, I wonder how long MS is going to continue to release Forza games on an annual basis.

By the posts on this thread, I wouldn't take his word for it. Besides, he didn't even provide a source which makes it all the more dubious.

But yeah in theory, if it is close, it wouldn't be sending the right signals.

Yea. I think the racing genre in general is on a decline. I think it's why you see Driveclub as more of a service. It's smart imo and why you're seeing it with the new GT game.

Yep, particularly in North America where the genre is on a decline. And the service model doesn't seem too bad of an idea when you think about it to be honest, it's probably the safest way to go and also prevents brand dilution.

Tidux's twitter rumors are basically the same as timdog or perhaps crap from a dog that has been eaten by another dog and then recrapped.

Yup. Keep people in the ecosystem.

lmao, brutal xD

Basically he might as well be John Snow. He knows nothing.

LOL

Btw did you manage to receive the PM's I sent or did they not appear? Cause I think I sent two from mobile, and they never appeared to have sent (no messages in sent box) but I was wondering if that was just a glitch and I might have accidentally ended up spamming you with multiple PM's :S

I don't agree they should be fired, but when your job involves relationships with the public and you are unlikable/abrasive...well.
I dunno, I think there will always be people who dislike whoever is in charge. I get that some dislike him due to his "warrior-ish" attitude, but to go so far as to hate him and want him to be fired, without even knowing him personally? Just don't pay any attention to him, there's no need to waste mind on things you dislike.

To be honest, I think he sums it up on his Twitter bio when he says '#GameGuessing'. Ironically, it says a lot lol..

Agreed.

Basically he's like Edward Snowden if Edward Snowden was John Snow... He knows nothing.

Someone not to listen to, just like Tim Dog.

The most legitimate insider evar! You can trust him 900%!

Yeah, that was sarcasm. Take everything he says with a big grain of salt.
got it, thanks.

so it's not like he's even like michael pachter who is an industry analyst who just happens to make a lot of bad predictions, he's just someone on the internet who makes bold claims.

Was anyone outside of extreme pessimists even expecting less than a million? If I remember the last NPD thread, the discussion was where we'd end up over said million.

I wouldn't say he's "just someone on the internet", I believe he works as game tester or something like that, so I guess he sometimes gets access to some insider info. However I think most of his tweets are made up.

I am still uncertain. A million is a big number. For PS4 I am sure, thanks to additional push with preorders. For Xbox it could be close.

Price drop, year two, etc. I don't see any reason for us to be under a million this year given last year's numbers. Unless you think October's lackluster results on the price drop were symptomatic.

People held off for Black Friday. That's the main reason for weak October.
But still, a million is a lot. Last year on BF the Xbox was as cheap or even cheaper than this year. Playstation never has been this cheap.

You forgot that playstation at 399 last year come close to 900k, this year they had Battlefront bundle, COD bundle and 299$ bundle for black Friday.
I think that they will surpass the one million mark this time.

I said this. Even a Million for PS4 would be an awful result.
I am just not sure about the XboxOne.

What is your prediction for PS4? What would you consider good? I have the PS4 doing 1225K.

Someone said to beat last year's result PS4 has to make 2.3 mio in Nov and Dec. (Xbox, too).
I believe December will be lower than November. PS4 should do 1.3
As the market leader they just have to top last year.

Wow. Some people will believe anything if it's on Twitter.
And some people just twitter everything that crosses their little minds.
Perfect match.

Even if they win, it should still pertain to Live usage and what not. Unless they plan to only talk about actual sales when they sell more during the postseason.

This comparison is so grossly inaccurate that the comment from 'Tidux' should be completely ignored and scrubbed off of the NeoGAF forums.

Further research from 'n4g.com' tells me that at least one of these data points was sourced from 'VG Chartz."

I hope members of these forums don't trust these sorts of websites that prey off of unsuspecting users who are desperate for any sort of data.

As intelligent members like CosmicQueso have previously alluded to, sites such as ********.com and SuperData largely rely on conjecture and guessing and thus should not be trusted.

I have no anecdotes. Nobody that I know bought a console this month.

The one thing that disappoints me from this month is that the top two selling bundles featured remastered games. Microsoft really should have put out a cheaper Tomb Raider or Halo 5 bundle.

The NDC bundle (physical copy) jumped from 97 to 5 on Amazon's monthly chart. It is also 71 for the yearly chart. Nathaniel ain't playing around.

Most people here know that those sites are pure garbage and not to be trusted :)
