Man we sucked this game. Oddly enough we were better off with Amare Stoudamire on the bench. We put together maybe 2 good quarters, but that was about it. We're going to have to play much better than this to beat Sacremento.

Ugh, the parade to the line for Kobe continues. 10-13 from the stripe, with the 10 makes accounting for 50% of his points tonight. Still, at least he "only" shot 13 FT's tonight instead of 16.

Woah there Loki! Don't get to excited, Kobe sat out the 4th quarter due to the thrashing the Lakers were taking. If he had played more, he would of easily had 18-20 FTA's. :D

Nash choked HARD at the line :lol

edit: At least the Suns finally lost and it looks like the Kings will lose too. Clippers gaining ground in the Pacific? :lol

Because they were down by 15 bajillion points and they still have a bunch of road games coming up. Obviously Rudy thought he should rest him and the starters and try and get the next game.

Yeah, I'm in Charlotte and I watch on WJZY also. Same as you though, I have satellite so no C-SET for me either :( For some reason it completely slipped my mind that I LIVE in Charlotte, so I should be able to get the game on local radio :lol

Heh well there you go :)

I got a local affiliate and it doesn't look like I can pick up any of the stations out here in the boonies of Fuquay. I'll be scrounging for online radio the rest of the season it looks like. Oh well, it reminds me of the Hornets first couple of seasons when there were only a handful of games on TV. Tonight was a total blast from the past. Just remember 106.1 has your hookup next time.

This team will be much closer to 25 wins than the 9 that some pundits (ahem, Sports Guy) were calling for us. We're in such better shape than the original Hornet team too. I can see five or six guys on this team still being with us four years down the road.

We've got good, young talent. I don't see how Indiana let Brzezic go. I know Bird said he was a player, but damn. PRIMOZ!

You know, you're absolutely right-- I didn't even notice that he only played 34 minutes-- 9 below his average. Had he played even 40, he would've had at least 18 FT's. It's scary how the refs are padding his average. Kobe Bryant: in desperate need of referee assistance. :D

True-- wouldn't want him straining his elbow with all those...free throws. Good lookin' out, Rudy T! :D

RAPTORS WIN!!!!!

4-1! Vince Carter stays on the bench in the crucial minutes of the fourth qtr, while Bosh and my man Alston take over the game. I'm loving this! Lamond Murray showing some flash, getting to the line...it's all good.

How's Chris Bosh coming along? I'm a big fan going to GT and all. Has he put on some weight? He had a better rookie campaign than I figured he would.

Heh, Vince was on the radio shortly afterwards talking about his benching...he said it's all about the win, and with the second unit playing well, there was no reason to pull them out. Great attitude on his part...he had a pretty average game, but he's always been an unselfish player, a lot more then people give him credit for.

And what a great win for the Raps...Rafer struggled with foul trouble, but blew up in the fourth. Bosh was just terrific. Lamond and Milt played extremely well and with confidence, and Loren Woods made some huge blocks. The Raptors have absolutely SUCKED on the tail end of back to back games the last few years, so for them to start this season 1-0 (and in Utah no less) is just incredible, and a great bounce back after last year's humiliation. Man, 4-1...can we just start the playoffs now? :lol

BTW, :lol @ the Blazers...burned by a Vince Carter three on Sunday with seconds remaining, and then burned by a last second, long range shot from Paul Pierce tonight. :lol Sucks for them.

Kirilenko with only 9 points and 3 blocks tonight. Loki am crying. :(

I really want Kirilenko to average like 7 blocks and shatter all sorts of defensive records this season. :D

Bosh tried to put on weight all summer...think he only gained like 5 pounds. :lol He's a lot more confident now though...seems to have developed a consistent 19 foot jumper now, has some more post moves, is willing to put it on the floor a bit more, and defintely has leadership abilities. He did struggle the last couple games, but in the other three (including tonight) he's been outstanding. At this point the Pistons picking Darko instead of Bosh is looking like the biggest drafting fuck up since Bowie was picked over Jordan. :lol

(Oh ok, it's not that bad...but still!)

Yeah the jury is still out on Darko, but considering the similar build and age, it would be hard to argue that he is/will be better than Bosh.

Poor Mikey, you should have never said you were a four year Dookie if you weren't gonna stay for your senior year. We could have used you two years ago jackass :(

Lebron is amazing. Best player in the EC IMO (Shaq included). That fourth quarter of his was a masterpiece...

Darko has a larger and more well-built frame but lacks Bosh's length and athleticism. If he ever develops as an NBA player, I'd guess - judging by what I've read from scouting reports and the players he goes up against every day in practice - he'd have a more fundamentally sound post game, and if he's really good he'll be able to stick mid and long-range jumpers with consistency. Too bad we won't be able to this for another few years, unless LB retires beforehand...

And to think, if some of the lily white media had their way, he'd still be in college. :lol

Tell me about it. It's getting pretty ridiculous, especially when supposed 'safe bets' from college bomb big all around us (hello Ben Gordan....I thought the Bulls learned after Jay Williams). The fact is that college doesn't produce any more 'fundamentally sound' NBA players than high school does. In fact, all those players that the media always list as being all that's wrong with the NBA these days (think Steve Francis and Baron Davis) were big college stars as well. Nobody ever mentions that the whole '6'2" SG pretending to be a PG' player is entirely a product of the college game where they strive.

Looking back on Dick Vitale, Jay Bilas etc. draft analysis makes me sick. Someone needs to remind them that Dwight Howard has been fantastic, Jameer Nelson has sucked it up (OMG COLLEGE PLAYER OF THE YEAR TAKEN 22nd!!!!111), and Luol Deng (left too early!!!) has been the Bull's best player while Ben Gordan (guaranteed superstar!) has been terrible. Maybe after this year, Lebron last year, and the Jay Williams fiasco (2nd best PG in the world behind Kidd!!! By the way, who is this Amare kid?) people will realize that drafting for potential almost always makes the most sense.

LeBron loves his girlfriend. There is no other woman in the world he’d rather have. The problem is, Dwyane’s not a woman.

I think that has to do with NBA teams giving up on point guards WAY WAY too early than college training. I'm glad to see a guy like Hinrich get a chance to play in Chicago.

Hard nose defense!

:lol, I know we're not gonna have TMac tonight...but if you're in Houston, you're almost glad to see him miss one (and ONLY one) game, with Boki backing hit up. BOKI POWAH TONIGHT!!! BOSTJAN NACHBAR GETS THE START! :lol

This guy has a friggin huge Cult following, and I'd love nothing more than for him to become our spark off the bench and being able to drain a few 3s in the 2nd/4th quarters when he comes in to relieve TMac.

Kobe Bryant had 20 points on 4-for-19 shooting for the Lakers, who shot 37 percent.

`It was a tough night for us as a unit,'' Bryant said. `I can go off solo and get 50 or 60 points on these guys, but that doesn't mean we're going to win.''
:lol :lol :lol

Wait...

:lol :lol :lol

50 or 60 points while shooting 21%?

Shouldn't be to hard....he just needs to shoot 40-45 free throws. :)

Haha, so true. :D

What's funny about that Kobe quote about "getting 50 or 60" is that, even at 37%, the team actually shot significantly better than he did. :lol

Am I going to have to read through all this Kobe vs. Jordan bullshit whenever I click on this topic again? I thought there was a rule against that sort of discussion that ends up derailing the whole topic?

Anyway, Shinobi, Sonics are going to pound the shit out of the Raptors. Spread 'em.

There's not that much right now, but I still agree that if we're talking about players of the past....or (zzzzzzzzz) comparing Kobe to MJ, it should be in another thread. I know Loki loves a good argument, but talking about this year's teams....even the Clippers! is more exciting than that.

How am I "derailing" a topic about the current basketball season by talking about Kobe's ridiculous # of FT's this season, and asking for consistency from Kobe whores? I can talk about anything I feel like so long as it's relevant (and it is); if you don't like it, just skip my posts (like you do anyway). In short: deal with it.

consistency from the "Kobe whores"? You talk about Kobe 5X as much as all of us combined dude.

Sure, ever since he started averaging 15 FT's per game. If any player averaged that many FT's (except maybe Shaq in his prime), I'd be criticizing it. So that's why I've been talking about him so much this season. Prior to that? I'd say Konex, bionic and a few others who pop their heads in here and there have me beat by quite a ways. :D

Why is there no Artest talk?

The Artest stuff (a few posts about it, at least) was on the previous page. Just a ridiculous situation imo. :lol

No, I'm not going to deal with you hyping Jordan in your case against Kobe every chance you get. It's overkill. Jesus Christ...

All I've done is compare, for argument's sake (because, in response to my on-topic posts about Kobe's absurd # of FT's this season, etiolate/bionic brought up the fact that Jordan supposedly got "helped out" by the refs), that Jordan never shot anywhere near 15 FT's per game, nor even broke 10 per game with the exception of two seasons.

I likewise get "sick" of your Ray Allen/Sonics whoring, but you don't see me bitching, right? Besides which, what do you mean "you're not going to deal with it"? What are you going to do about it? Cry like a bitch to a mod? Can't say I would be surprised...:lol

If you don't like my posts, ignore them. Problem solved.

To add to the Rap Artest deal, more talk of the Peja-Artest trade on ESPN. It seems Peja has stopped his usual practice routine. The Kings have on court chemistry issues now, to go along with off-court issues. This trade could be really good or really bad for both teams. Artest is a headcase, but also an asskicker which the Kings need. Right now they are a team that is relying entirely on hot shooting in order to win. I'm sure Peja would get open shots Indiana and open up the Pacers offense big time, but Artest also seems like the heart and soul of that team.

I'm watching PTI, I didn't know Ron Artest applied for a job at Circuit City to get the employee discount during his rookie year with the Bulls. Not only that, he listed Jerry Krause as a reference :lol
