This isn't about winning the WH. This is about winning the nomination where many conservatives view the Pope as a leftist. Besides, most Protestants and non religious people don't care what the Pope says.
Could this have hurt him close to a general election? Probably yes. Before a vote in South Carolina, and many upcoming southern states on Super Tuesday? Definitely not, may help him.

Trump is a liar and fraud. Everyone knows this (you'd have to be a total imbecile not to), people simply choose to along with it anyway because it's viewpoints that they agree with.
People should be able to identify as Christian if they want, but it usually becomes pretty obvious whether or not they're actually a good Christian or not. I would say that Trump is a terrible Christian. Most in the Republican party are bad Christians. To be a good Christian, you should demonstrate Christlike behavior, and I can't see anybody doing that right now.

The fact that the Twitter user is called both "CelticAngelo" and "Deus Vult" should tell you about her intelligence level and what reasons she's supporting Trump.
At the same time, funny for a person using the name Deus Vult to be critical of the pope.

No it doesn't. Vatican City is in the Italian customs area, which is itself inside the European Shengen area. How long does it take to check something like that?

I imagine a significant amount of American Catholics unless they are Hispanic give very few shits about what the pope has to say. Muh liberty and all that.Every little bit helps. If this nudges the Catholic vote a point or two in a few key states, that's nice.

If and when the Vatican is attacked by ISIS, which as everyone knows is ISISs ultimate trophy, I can promise you that the Pope would have only wished and prayed that Donald Trump would have been President because this would not have happened. ISIS would have been eradicated unlike what is happening now with our all talk, no action politicians.
The Mexican government and its leadership has made many disparaging remarks about me to the Pope, because they want to continue to rip off the United States, both on trade and at the border, and they understand I am totally wise to them. The Pope only heard one side of the story - he didnt see the crime, the drug trafficking and the negative economic impact the current policies have on the United States. He doesnt see how Mexican leadership is outsmarting President Obama and our leadership in every aspect of negotiation.
For a religious leader to question a persons faith is disgraceful. I am proud to be a Christian and as President I will not allow Christianity to be consistently attacked and weakened, unlike what is happening now, with our current President. No leader, especially a religious leader, should have the right to question another mans religion or faith. No True Scotsman fallacy. "Christian" is not a synonym for "good person". It's an arrogant, facile assumption that bad acts make someone un-Christian. If they proclaim to believe in and follow Jesus, that's it - they're Christian. Debate the level of honest adherence all you want, that's fair. But you don't get to say only good people can be Christian.
Hell, the pope's own bigoted homophobia doesn't mean he's not a Christian, for example.

There's literally nothing in there except for administrative offices, though. All the churches and museums are open to the public.
