I in no way am for Trump (beyond entertainment). The fact that he is "not Christian" is no where on the radar for my dislike of him as a candidate. Ted Cruz is Christian, and that scares the shit out of me because of his "Christian" stance.

I'm an atheist myself, so yeah, I couldn't give two shits about whether or not Trump is Christian. However, his response to this is pure gold on the stupidity meter.

I'm fairly certain the Pope has the same opinion of Cruz as he does about Trump in terms of being a Christian.

Wow. The Pope made Jeb Bush defend Trump. "It's not un Christian to protect your border and keep people out who come illegally. Trump faith is between him and his creator" Rubio also joining in. "Vatican City controls who comes in and when, so should the United States"

Boy are these guys clueless.

Every little bit helps. If this nudges the Catholic vote a point or two in a few key states, that's nice.

I live in the Boston area- I just watched Spotlight. If you want to learn about the Catholic community in Boston/MA- watch it. Excellent movie.

I don't think you understand how small the vatican is.

Well, I'm being tongue in cheek. :p

While Trump's wall is obviously idiotic, I don't think it's completely illegitimate to point out that the Vatican closely monitors who comes in and out. They have walls, gates, armed guards etc.

Im not a trump supporter, but there's nothing wrong with building a wall or properly securing a nations borders. There's proper legal routes for refugees and immigrants to enter the country. The Pope should tear down his own wall.

Yes it has walls but it's not 100% surrounded by walls. Its very much so open to the public. What you call gates, walls and armed guards is hardly what the Mexico - USA border is. It's not like they ask for your Passport AND a Visa to enter the Vatican. I have to produce those two documents everytime I want to cross to Laredo TX for a day of shopping.

Not sure if serious....

Yeah nothing wrong with building a 5,500 mile long wall that can only be paid for by bullying another country into submission and wanting to deport 12 million people from the country. We gots to do this to dick wave how secure our borders are! The law is the law!!!

Even when ignoring the questionable morals the logistics don't fucking work. It's "wrong" in both senses of the word.

EDIT: The "proper legal routes" are absolutely fucked in theory and implementation and make it impossible for everyone but the extremely lucky and/or privileged to be able to come in legally. I say that as someone who went through this process. Curtailing illegal immigration begins with a policy overhaul designed to bring in more people from more socioeconomic statuses and coming from a more comprehensive approach, not blowing millions on a dick-waving wall. Y'know, treat immigrants like human beings instead of annoying pests that must be "controlled".

And another thing I'm tired of is every time some controversy or something nasty he says about anything/anyone, everyone is always like, oh this won't hurt him, probably just help him.

For freak sake, just speak your mind, or say nothing. All people are doing is emboldening him.

It's missing a bunch probably.

"Ben Carson condition similar to a child molester"

"Are the people of Iowa stupid?"

I could shoot someone on 5th avenue and not lose votes.

If Hillary can't satisfy her husband, how can she satisfy America?

Quotes Twitter user with the name "White Genocide"

Gives out Lindsay Graham's personal cell phone number

Can't even define the nuclear triad

I'm sure there's more than that.

I can't comprehend how stupid this is.

Yeah, I did miss some big ones the first time:

Don't forget him not knowing what the nuclear triad was and answering a question about it in the debate with the following:

“I think to me, nuclear, is just the power, the devastation is very important to me,"

That's easy when your city is no bigger than three fucking city blocks.

Hell, Central Park is seven times bigger than that.

Totally wronger about Nintendo's business decisions.
A lot of Protestants think that Catholicism isn't real Christianity and don't think highly of the Pope. Most of Trump's base are Protestants. If anything, this will help Trump.

First he caused the implosion of the Republican party, now he's about to cause the implosion of the Christian community.

Donald J. Trump. Not the hero we deserve, but the one we need right now.

At this point his supporters love him and support him even when he insults them and their lifestyle. They're so enamored with his brand of "Telling It Like It Is™" that it literally doesn't matter if 1) he's being blatantly dishonest about something, 2) what he's saying is patently false, or 3) he's insulting them directly. They've convinced themselves the perception of honesty (not even actual honesty, just the perception of it) is the single most important thing ever for a presidential candidate and will continue to love him literally regardless of what he says. He can literally speak in gibberish and his braindead supporters will be "YEP! ANOTHER THING NAILED BY TRUMP! TELLIN' IT LIKE IT IS!!!"

If you hate organized religion any other day of the week, why back the Pope just because he's against Trump? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

And why didn't the Pope also call out Cruz or Rubio who speak to the same policies Trump does? Because he knows Trump is the frontrunner and he wanted to hurt him specifically. That's a political hit.

The Pope should be more concerned with purging all of the kiddy diddlers from the Vatican and his Church. Anybody see the movie "Spotlight" ?

This is utopian wishful thinking, we don't have the infrastructure to support everyone who just wants to come here with no job, no education, no healthcare, no home, and no prospects. LOL @ dick waving wall, why should it be our place to support Mexico's citizens who don't want to live there so they sneak here illegally, rather than Mexico's citizen's responsibility to stand up and create a better economy for themselves?

They are a Country and they need to prop up their own people, not just ignore them and expect them to flee to the United States because they can't be bothered.

The Pope was asked a question by reporters on the flight back to Rome from Mexico. The Pope's actual comment was more along the lines of if all the insane stuff I have heard is what he has said then yes he isn't very Christian like.

While others may have similar policy positions as Trump none of them come as close to as disgusting a human being as Trump has been.

I never said we should have an open border. But, again, as someone who went through this immigration process I know exactly how fucked it is. It's not that the opportunity is considerably narrower if you don't have ample opportunity, wealth, and luck, it's that it's outright impossible. If you want to curtail illegal immigration you have an overhaul of the system to allow a wider spectrum of people of different economic and education backgrounds. It does not mean literally everyone, but currently for many demographics this means literally no one.

Unless the US adopts a realistic immigration policy, yeah expect illegal immigration to continue in the rates it currently is (illegal immigration is actually declining, but don't let Trump know that!). A wall ain't gonna do shit and Trump knows it. It's pure posturing.

Please, don't speak about the state of the Mexican government and its population if you know nothing about it. The state of the country is so fucked at the government level the citizenry can't realistically do anything about it. Immigration is the only answer for a ton of people.
