Official Madden '15 PS4 League Thread: We Know DOTA

Read the first one, then forget that Rothfuss kept writing.

The Lies of Locke Lamora gets a similar tone without the series turning to dog shit...at least not yet.

I think I've heard mention of this series a few times, I might have to check it out. I was reading the Iron Druid Chronicles which are total pulp but fun in a way.

I've actually been reading "Worm" and thinking about making a thread on it. It was a web serial where the author posted a chapter a every other day or so for like 3 years until it was done. The sheer length of it is ridiculous (I think I saw that its about the same length as the first 4 ASoIaF books). I'm up to arc 19 of 30 right now, the start of the story was pretty meh (the main character is a 15 year old girl who is heavily bullied and gets super powers) but it got a bit better as it went on. The fact that the author mostly just kept pushing forward with the story shows as the writing improves but sometimes falls into weird ruts.

I guess if you're into depressing Super Hero fiction its a pretty good read. It reminds me a bit of that arc of Batman where an earthquake hits Gotham and everything goes to shit.

My blind boxes were Kunka and Lich. And all my demihero were normal color! Best ever

The 49ers would win a tiebreaker with the Eagles or Cowboys after beating them both, but they’ll need to beat the Seahawks in Seattle on Sunday to stay in the playoff hunt. Some casinos in Vegas have the 49ers as double-digit underdogs for the first time during the Harbaugh era, and given that the Niners have lost by an average of more than 20 points when playing Wilson in Seattle, you can’t really blame them.

Man I hope the 49ers overreact and dump Harbaugh, because I actually think he's a good coach and they would be worse off without him.

intangibles, motherfucker
I remember when the Lakers were supposed to rehire phil and got fucking swerved at the last second with D'antoni.

9ers fans should be feeling similar feelings very soon. Its like watching your franchise go down the toilet for no good reason.

I remember when the Knicks were going to get Steve Kerr, then Dolan stuck his nose in the process and fucked it up and got Derek Fisher instead.

I hope you enjoy going back to all those 4-12 seasons!

more like 7-9 to 9-7 seasons. those are even worse than 4-12 because at least 4-12 gets you a top 5 pick or so. the 7 win seasons dont get you in the playoffs and you end up with a mid-range pick.

idiot owner can't keep his hand out of the cookie jar and he'll see what we get soon enough. a good coach is like a good QB: you don't let them go

Even if the coaching staff was Gregg Popovich, Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, and Red Auerbach, that couldn't get the Knicks to .500

I haven't heard from DM. PM'd him earlier to play at half. If we can't get it in soon, then just sim it.

ever since the 2k patch i've gotten kicked out of all my park games

and i just had a legendary park game where i almost had 7/7/7, had an A+ rating, and kicked me at the end.

You should be ashamed that you seem surprised.

Fuck.

gg LJ.

There were a couple of "Madden" moments that I felt killed the game for me early, but I'm not going to pretend I had business almost coming back.

1) Vaccaro going down
1b) Whatever the hell Vaccaro's backup was doing on that long pass to Givens
1c) Whatever the hell kind of angle Vaccaro's backup took on that long run by Mason, before I took control and totally whiffed.
2) Fumble for TD (I know I got a couple of fumbles -- buuut a 17-0 deficit is tough)
3) Terrible throw by Brees to a wide open Colston, intercepted by Jenkins. (Made up for by the pass through coverage to Graham for a TD).

That last INT play was on the suggested list that automatically came up. I should have shut that shit down before I even started considering the plays the CPU was offering me :)

EDIT: I also can't believe how much I set myself up to overpursue on that Mason TD. I thought I had more brains than that.

Good game Sickboy. Got a lucky break with that strip sack TD early in the game, but made some bad mistakes down the stretch and you took advantage of them. That Jenkins INT was insane because you made the right read, I was out of position with the safety but Jenkins followed him across the field while in zone coverage, he's only 87 zone too. Insane play, bailed me out.

Edit: Mason TD was a bit of luck because the DE usually disengages so fast when I try to hit the hole between the pulling guard and tackle, this time the block held. It's one of the reasons I bounce runs, I don't trust the blocks to hold even when the hole is there.

In fairness to you on the Mason play, I shifted away from the run and really sold out on it going left. I'm not sure why. I certainly had started to respect his speed by that point, but it was a bad bet. That said, you were driving while he was healthy, but my D really took a hit after Vaccaro went out. I should've blitzed Ball every down after ;)

Three weeks :(
