No Star Wars film has ever been rated PG-13, no. However, Lucas does expect a PG-13 rating for EP3.
the quote from lucas was something like - the movie is at pretty much the final cut right now and if the MPAA gives it a PG-13 rating he is not going to edit it to get it down to PG.

After watching the trailer I'm Lucas' bitch again for the umpteenth time. Any confirmation that the Republic Commando game will have new content once the movie is released depicting the events in the movie?

Just saw the trailer some quick observations:

-Sidious/emperor is the star of the show. He has been since ep I and some say since Jedi.

-That scene with sideous going ape shit is amazing.

-Hayden still cant act, at least in this flick.

-The dialogue in general was very stiff.

-Special FX...god damn

-No fluff!

Overall i have some skeptism but im hopoing that this flick will b great.

Damnit fox/lucasfilms please put out a Hi-Def version of this trailer. I'm drying for some super quality.

Trailer still kickin my ass and each time i play it i see something else i didnt see before.

I was able to watch the medium Quicktime version that is on AOL.COM... it is really a beautiful trailer...

I have setup my Quicktime settings to save the movie to hard drive cache and it does not save it... I know in the past I was able to watch movies in Quicktime and find it in my Temporary Internet files.

Anyone know why this might not be working for this trailer? I am going to visit www.quicktime.com and see if other videos will save...

you can still do it, but you have to be MUCH more clever now.

the easiest way is to scour web page source for the actual link to the trailer .mov file, then create a new web page (even just a local file) with that link in it, then right click on it and Save As... (of course you need the permissions cached from the site).

overall a pain in the ass, but you gotta give them credit for making it harder to rip exclusive movie trailers now.. lol..

Ok, I still need to download the good version.

Which torrents are working still and have the best quality? I've been through like 3 that didn't even have a picture.

Post #286 has a link to a decent quality version.

Did I just see the Millennium Falcon in 2:07? Anyone know? Right after Obi-Wan says "You are the Chosen One" and then that big Canon fire's its lazer. It kinda looks like when the Falcon was escaping the Death Star in Jedi.

Uh...no.

what movies is this going to be attached to? like the new movies...which of em them are showing the trailer? i need to go see it!

Ian McDiramid just acts so damn evil! I remember way back during filming, it was said that there was a performance given by Ian in one particular scene that moved both cast and crew to open applause.

Of course, hindsight's 20/20 but looking back now, I wish Lucas had chosen to tell more of the prequel story through Palpatine's eyes than the Jedi's. Not only because Ian is an incredible performer, but because we pretty much already knew how Anakin became Vader. Palpatine's rise was much more of a mystery and, in my opinion, much more interesting than the Jedi.

Believe it or not, I'm actually looking forward to seeing the Jedi get wiped out. The way Lucas has chosen to present the order has caused me to not even LIKE the Jedi except for Qui-Gon. I hate their rigidness and their overconfidence.

Bring on the evil baby! Bring on the evil!

Ah, Episodes I and II are nothing but Palpatine placing himself into power...

Well, that was kind of the whole point. The Jedi have become short sighted and over confident. Yoda and Mace say as much in AOTC. These are not the Jedi of old. Over time, they too have become jaded and lost their way. Not all of them of course, Obi Wan, Mace, and Yoda still hold the course, but as a whole, the Order has lost it's way.

That said, one thing's for sure, you're going to get your wish. The Jedi are doomed and we're going to see The Emperor and Vader destroy them. I think I read somewhere that Palpatine issues "General Order 66", basically declaring war on the Jedi.

Yeah but going into the prequels I never actually thought I would come to dislike the jedi. It seems to me while watching Episode 3 I should be weeping for the Jedi but unless something drastic happens in the movie, I'll actually be glad that collection of stiffs is wiped out. Not because I think it is deserved, but because they have annoyed the hell outof me since Episode 1.

I know what you're saying. I wouldn't say I dislike the Jedi, but I'm not all that sympathetic to them either. I think it was necessary for the Jedi to be destroyed so that a new Jedi Order could arise after The Emperor is over thrown. The new order would find it's way back to the orginal Jedi cause.

here is the thing I think lucas is/was getting at. The chosen one is supposed to bring balance to the force. so how can there be balance to the force if there are no "evil jedi" and like 2-3 dozen "good jedi". doesn't sound very balanced to me.

now granted by the time he does bring balance to the force there is 1 "good jedi" and 0 "evil jedi", but that is certainly a hell of a lot more balanced than during the republic.

Something tells me Lucas has absolutely nailed this movie square on the head.

I always interpreted it as the Chosen One would bring balance by eliminating the Sith. Anakin acheives this eventually, of course, but not quite in the manner expected.

And after Republic Commando, I hate them a lot too.

Even though the Jedi are obviously critical of the Senate and the whole political system, it seems pretty clear that the formal organization of the Jedi Council and full order are antiquated as well. The galaxy needs change and it comes in the form of a few very violent decades of complete upheaval. What was there was just blatantly not working at that point, on every side of the equation. I like a lot of the individual Jedi, but it doesn't seem to me that their beauracratic organization has been effective at all.

The Jedi misunderstood the prophecy. They thought it would help them. Instead it killed them all. There were tens of thousands of Jedi and two Sith. To balance the force they would have to kill all the Jedi. And Vader did. Then it became the Emporer and Vader vs Yoda and Obi Wan. Everyone else with force abilities was trained by no one including Luke and Leia.

I'm definitely with you on this one. Everyone went crazy over the EP:1 teaser trailer, but that was more due to the fact that it was new SW footage after nearly 20 years. The second EP:1 trailer really wasn't all that good.

The EP:2 trailers, the two best were the Mystery and Forbidden Love ones, but you're right they just seemed really disjointed. Similarly, the Clone War trailer (the last one released) I saw on TV when they premiered it with X-files or Malcolm or whatever they did it with, and I just kinda felt cold after it... never really got the "wow that looks cool" sense.

This one was the best of the prequel trailers. Far and away.

Pros:
-DRAMA! FINALLY LUCAS YOU GET THAT WE NEED DRAMA!
-SFX look amazing, as always
-Palpatine, kicking ass and taking names
-Darker theme...awesome
-**STAR** WARS, ANOTHER THING WE'VE BEEN LACKING!
-Dialogue is WAY better than the first two
-Vader, of course
-Dueling looks great

Cons:
-The shot where Palpatine charges the Jedi looks awkward and funny at the same time
-Anakin still seems like he's a cardboard cutout smoldering with generic rage

So far....looking better than the rest!

#1, the shot of palpatine charging looks AWESOME, IMO. Best part of the trailer.

#2, after having to sit through Anakin's horrid dialogue for two movies the cardboard cutout raging smoking Anakin is the only one I'm interested in seeing.

Remember, you're seeing it out of context. All we're seeing is a couple of quick cuts to get the point across in the trailer. I personally think it looks cool, and will look even better in the context of the film. My guess is, in the time he moves from his desk to confront the Jedi, he changes from Chancellor Palpatine to Darth Sidious. A transformation that happens in seconds but displays his power.

Is it just me or is Sidious kinda...bulky?

Well maybe it's just how it was clipped and it'll look normal when seeing the full scene.

Spelling police! Everybody, hide your poorly spelled words! Egad! Someone posts on the internet and they improperly spell a word? Mcok them!

Seriously Saki-san, lighten up.
