Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition |OT| Mourning Wood

Please let me at the Ori merch...

Also, if we bought the soundtrack DLC on Steam, will it be updated? Or will we need to go somewhere else to get the DE OST? If that somewhere else is Bandcamp, I hope it's pay what you want (not free!) 'cuz $10 wasn't nearly enough for Mr. Coker's brilliance.

I just spoke to Gareth and he decided that the new Ori DE soundtrack will be available completely for free. That's over 1 hour of music he's giving away there for everyone to enjoy :)

If you wanna support Gareth, there'll be another opportunity in the future. And I agree with you, he's just a brilliant talent and we're glad to have him :)

A circular, 12-inch opportunity, by chance?

I bought (and love!) the original soundtrack, but this is awesome! Thanks!

Oh, hell yes. That's awesome.

Can I just clarify some things up before purchasing this, because I feel like I'm being pretty stupid about the whole thing.

All this time I've assumed that if I paid the 4 quid to 'upgrade', this would allow me to instantly access all the new areas/material straight away that wasn't available in the original game. I assumed it was being treat as a side story, dlc type thing. Is this not the case?

Now I'm reading that my original save file won't work, so I have to play the whole game again from the start?

And am I right in thinking that all the new stuff has been implemented into the map which I'll come across naturally? If that is the case, eh, I wanted to play the new areas from the get go :(

I assume I can't get the DE for $5 on xbox one if the copy I own is on Steam?

And Thomas, you should be proud to be part of such a beautiful game. :)

I purchased the original back when it was on sale and have been patiently waiting for the DE to hit before even opening the game. :D

I was hoping for a physical release but ah well. It'll probably happen now that I have digital anyway >_> lol.

Yeah, I do admit, I kinda wish I was able to jump in and just experience the new content =/

Ahh, cool. I just went to go buy this game and I had $6 in wallet from Xbox Live Rewards kickback.

Soooo... basically free.

The new content is spread over the entire game. It's not just a big endgame area.

Here's hoping Hawk guessed right! And that Gareth remembers the "little" people when Hollywood comes calling!
We never doubted you for a second!

Looking forward to getting into this again since I didn't get terribly far the first time. The real question is: Can you reload a save after you beat the game?

Downloading. I can't wait to play. Thanks Moon Studios for this great game (again)

Anybody knows when soundtrack appears to download?

Purchased and downloading. Can't wait to play this again and re-experience the best boss fights of a generation :-)

I remember posting there, I said:

Eh, no. I couldn't disagree more. The whole escape sequences were relatively terrible. If anything, I'd say it's the only flaw of Ori. The trial and error are atrociously misplaced because one of the reasons why Ori is so amazing is because the game itself is hard, but fair. It's challenging. There's nothing "fair" or challenging about trial and errors. Also, because of those shitty escape sequences, you get locked out of completion. You can't return to several places, so if you've missed something along the way and you were aiming for a 100% completion rate, have fun starting over.

And I still stand by it. Luckily now it's possible to go back and backtrack, but as far as I know unfortunately the escape sequences are still in them. The only flaw in an otherwise flawless game.

Did they fix the escape sequences?

One of the most annoying things I experienced in my gamer-life.

If you die too often on them, you can quickly set the difficulty to easy - they'll be a lot less paintful that way and there are checkpoints that way - then you can just set the difficulty to normal again once you're done if easy is too easy for you :)

You mean the best part of the game?

Trial and error in a game mostly known for its challenging but fair nature, it's hardly the best part of the game. The wonderful soundtrack during the escapes have tricked you.

But regardless, I don't want to derail a new thread of one of the best games of 2015.

Thomas, I love this game, what a great job you guys did. Kudos to you all.

Unfortunately I never finished it at release due to real life getting in the way but I'm slowly working through my 2015 backlog now. I'm thrilled to learn of the definitive edition, especially with the addition of an easy mode. Just gotta wait for the Steam version now.

As an aside, the soundtrack is wonderful so it's great to hear of an update to that also. I listen to it frequently whilst marathon training. Nothing much better than running in the countryside with the Ori soundtrack accompanying me.

Thank you guys so much for the support! If you got to play the DE, feel free to report back! Would love to know what you guys think about all the stuff we added :)
