Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition |OT| Mourning Wood

Bummer, was hoping the achievement art would be nice screenshots/concept art from the game, but it looks like they have the same format as the old ones.

Can't wait to play later tonight.

Do saves transfer between games?

I would like to know this as well. If I buy the definitive edition can I start where I left off in the regular version, or is this like a completely separate game? Thanks. On the xbox one btw.

edit: doh, nvm it doesn't work. They are two seperate games. No worries, awesome enough to start all over.

I never finished the original even though I was pretty close to the end. Looking forward to playing this tonight with all the new additions. Might as well start from the beginning since its been so long since I last played.

Is the steam version coming later cause I just checked with my phone and it's not up

Oh and Thomas thanks for answering questions in these threads. Ori is a good game and I'm looking forward to playing it again.

edit** TBD for PC. Should have read the OP more closely

Hard mode = breeze

One Life mode = no different than trying to do a 0 death speedrun last year, yet somehow more stressful. But I got it done SECOND try! (not counting the dozens and dozens and dozens of times I tried to do it on the original Ori before succeeding, lol)

DE = original game + patch/improvements + new content/story/areas/abilities.

Yes but they are separate titles with separate achievement lists. I think he's asking if you get both titles (aka both achievement lists and two different games on your dashboard) if you buy the DE. I've heard the same rumor but can't confirm because I already owned the original.

Ah got it... so yeah, what lifeexcpectancy said!

What did hard mode change?

Hard mode:

Enemies do 2x as much damage.

Spikes seem to do even more than that, up to 4x, but I might be imagining things. Minimum 2x damage for everything though.

Enemies take more to kill (again, I think, it could've been my lack of upgrades).

I *think* some other stuff felt off, like it took more skill points for the 2nd and 3rd upgrades in each skill tree (2 points instead of 1 for each of the 2nd and 3rd upgrades), and it seemed like the purplish pink bullets from the wall canons fired faster. I need to go back and compare same areas side by side to see if these things are true.

Yeah doesn't sound like that much trouble for a experienced original game player or someone decent at the genre.

Sadly I'm neither lol.

Can't decide whether to start on Normal or Hard. It sounds like Hard is just tougher enemies? Do the escape sequences change?

Chose Hard, why the hell not.

That prologue is still just beautiful.

Also - LifeExpectancy, you are already 2nd on the Leaderboard!? God damn, impressive.

Yeah the escape sequences don't change, and as long as you're primarily bashing and charge flaming your way through enemies, hard isn't all that bad. I just grabbed a few more life cells en route than I normally do.

Also thanks :) Not sure who the #1 person is, probably a big-time speedrunner. I will drop as soon as the rest of the speed running folks blow past my shabby time lol.

Just finished the last achievement, 1250/1250. Tomorrow I plan on doing some more One Life runs. :)

Downloading it now and going to play tomorrow when I wake up but can't wait. Super hyped at playing the new parts and get to play the old parts again. Maybe one day if I feel confident enough I can try one life mode because I tried it before but failed an hour in. now that you guys went and fixed the only two problems with the game (backtracking and being able to play after beating the game) it really is the perfect game. Favorite game of 2015 and up there as one of my favorite of all time.

When I posted last night, I was initially annoyed that we wouldn't have access to the new material from the get go, but I'm starting to warm to the idea of playing the whole game again. Just need to finish Twilight Princess first..

Definitely dropping the €5 on this.

Thank god they will allow us to jump back in when completed, crazy decision not to let you in the base game.

I just had to get this, one of the most memorable games in recent years.
Started on hard and it has been a decent challenge so far.

Purchased the upgrade for my X1 last night. Cannot wait to back through this gem again, especially now we can go back I once it's complete and grab stuff we missed. Gonna 100% it this time!

I wandered into
Black Root Burrows
without any skill and now I can't get back up lol.

ANNNND I think I'm stuck here forever without
Double Jump
, time to restart I guess lol.

Sucks the PC release got delayed, but I'd rather have that than a buggy release. I only played this game last month, and I can't wait to play it again.

Hard mode frustrating or a healthier challenge? The game is already cruel as it is, lol.

I just got the dash ability in OG just saw this coming out and saw the 21:9 rez. Still not sure if I want to start over though.

Played an hour last night. 3/11/2015 came back to me in a flash. Surprised I remember quite a bit and my session was seamless considering how long its been since i last played it. i think that speaks very well about how amazing the game is.

I was just a little shook that this edition is its own separate entity and that i could not go back and use last year's game save to finish up stuff i had missed (collectables etc).
Very well said about returning to the game, I agree completely.

Ultimately it's too bad you can't transfer games, but I have no issues replaying this game again.

I haven't upgraded yet, but can you finally backtrack now after finishing it? And three new locations, how do they point you towards them?
