A communist who denies war crimes in Syria until his poll numbers are good is not someone who cares about human rights or anything other than the glorious revolution.

I believe the most recent numbers have Le Pen slightly ahead but also with rural precincts overreporting compared to urban precincts, so we would expect that lead to decrease as the rest of the vote is counted.

It started with LordKano which was quoting a post which was simultaneously referring to Clinton and Le Pen, though his answer was clearly about the Vel d'Hiv discussion Le Pen had (because we're talking about french elections mainly)

I can see where the misunderstanding is coming from though, no big deal.

It's the current actually counted votes.
Rural areas get counted faster, but FN will loose hard in big cities, leading to the current predictions of 23.9% Macron / 21.7% Le Pen.

Just tell her the truth - that European men greet each other that way, and that Europeans tend to be secure enough in their sexuality that they do not consider showing affection towards other men as overtly gay.

I'm pretty sure it's actually the complete opposite. There's no candidate more moderate than Macron, the question being how many members of the far left and the hard right are willing to compromise instead of abstaining.

It's not very common in Central Europe or on the Isles, but it is everywhere in Slavic countries as well. You can easily find pictures of Putin smooching other guys.
Here in Austria it's done only between 2 women and a man and a woman, two men normally don't do it, but I've seen it before.

It's already tied in the official results, and still at 75%. Macron should overtake Le Pen any moment now.

Melanchón still has a chance to come in at third.

EDIT: And yeah, with 76% Macron has overtaken Le Pen, with 23.11% for him and 23.07 for her.

First round's over, let's just see how much will Le Pen be left with.

Quebec women aren't surprised when I got for la bise even if it's the first time we've ever met. Other canadian women are usually a bit taken aback but laugh it off when they realize I'm French lol

Pretty much all of French society will rally around Macron now, like it did back in 2002 when Chirac destroyed Le Pen the Elder with 82% support. The Socialists, who detested Chirac came out of polling stations, after voting Chirac, and held mock decomtamination showers to show they were only voting to keep Le Pen out.
