Echoing the sentiment that the boy is a hero to the definition. I wish we lived in a world where children weren't put in the position to give their life to save another. I hope his family finds peace.

I think there could be many reasons

1) It's a co-op school, so boys and girls are interacting daily. Terrorists hate that.
2) Girls being educated, especially being literate. Terrorists hate that.
3) They're Shi'a. Terrorists hate that.

They want to elliminate the liberals and the educated. You think these taliban commanders like seeing kids goto school? learning math or science? No! They want their parents to send them to madaras instead, so they can brainwash them and create an army of suicide bombers

I can only hope I would be this courageous if put in a similar position. He just went out and did it like a true hero would. No hesitations and asking himself "what if?". All that was important to him was the safety of his friends and fellow citizens.

You read a story about this and you can't help but wonder would you do the same. This is a kid who was truly brave, who deserves the term hero that is tossed around so much. Nothing but respect for him.

Do you know what a madrase is ? It's a school. In arabic. The word madrase is the word for school in arabic. Geez.

For the people asking for a reason for a sucidide bomber killing muslims then I don't think it's because of education. Some militant jihadists see Shia's and other muslims not agreeing with their own views as apostates and or a kafir. Even sunnis too. These people are usually called Takfiri Jihadists and often follow a strict interpretation of Islam. If you want to learn more about this phenomenon try looking up Sayyid Qutb, he has authored some of the most influental books in the subject.

It's sort of coincidental you say that, because I read a story about a Marine that put his body over a live grenade to reduce collateral damage to his fellow soldiers. Heard about the story around 7 years ago and told myself I'd never forget it/his name. I understand there is a massive difference between a soldier and a 15-year-old civilian, but it just reminded me of it.

Mad props to the teen. It's giving me all sorts of feelings; this is tragic and heroic all-in-one.

Chaudhry Aslam, the head of the city's anti-terror operations, and at least two others died in an attack on a police convoy in the Essa Nagri area of the city, reports say.

Mr Aslam had survived a number of previous attempts on his life.

The Pakistani Taliban said they carried out Thursday's attack.

A spokesman said Mr Aslam had been targeted as he had "killed, tortured and wounded" Taliban members.

Did you read the story? If he knew he was coming he could have easily hauled ass out of there and saved his own skin, instead he goes to the bomber and sacrifices himself to save others
