Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

I had to wait till 4:30 today. Deliveries never take this long, there must have been lots of people getting deliveries today. This is the last time I trust launch day deliveries from amazon.

There's putting the game on Set in the options menu and not playing with the EXP share and not using items in battle. It'll probably be sufficient for a decent challenge on the first run without going for a full nuzlocke.
Might consider that. I'm definitely not quite feeling invested enough for a full Nuzlocke.

Does anyone know the trainers default names? I ALWAYS use the trainers default names, starting with Gen III when they started giving them real names. I've even held off playing until I find out the names for sure.

I really, really hope it's not 'Sun' and 'Moon', as that's so meh and I thought they did away with naming them after the game starting with Gen III.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of public transportation do you take that only allows one hand to be free? Or is it so packed that you always have to stand and hold a rail?
The rail, yes!
The subway gets ULTRA packed always and sometimes I like playing Pokemon on the go!

They don't have ones, not yet at least. Bulbapedia just lists them as ???.

No proper official names yet to my knowledge

Took me like 20 resets, but I finally got a female Popplio- and it's Modest! Wasn't sure if I was going to reset for nature or not, but looks like I don't need to worry about it.

So what would be a good nature for Grubbin? I dont have the game yet lol but I almost leaned Modest but considering it's going physical for most of the game im thinking maybe Quiet?

Gah, lame. Now I have to make random name, which I absolutely hate.

Not being able to use a character's proper name, especially in a game like this when it's used a lot, annoys the living fuck out of me and kind of takes me out of a game. I look at it being their adventure and not mine (Which is also why I NEVER use my own name when character naming is available). I've been this way since I was a little kid.

Yeah, I'm fucking weird.

Okay guys, I need help. I haven't played a Pokemon game since HGSS, so I am completely feeling overwhelmed right now. I want to get into the meta game but have no idea about "shiny" Pokemon or IVs. I am from the EU though so I have some free time before Ninty grant us worthy! Can someone point me in the way of a guide?

Thanks!

Remind me affection in Pokemon amie/brushing thing does not equal happiness right? I got a low level pichu and Im hoping that by just leveling him up and walking around with him that he'll eventually turn into a Pikachu.

Right. The only evolution that uses Affection (From Amie and Refresh) is Sylveon.

Getting my copy of Moon from Amazon tomorrow. I havent been keeping up with coverage so im extra excited about going in blind for this one.

Dudes. I traded in Okami-Den, Chrono Trigger (RIP), Kingdom Hearts DS and Sonic Lost World, got like $60 toward S&M. Now I dunno what starter to pick!

I was not expecting to run into a wild Abra in the first city. Of course it managed to break out of the ultra ball and teleport away.

I mean, both of these things have existed in Pokemon for a looooooooong tie.

Shiny Pokemon are purely aesthetically different and extremely rare.

IVs are hidden values that influence stats and the type of Hidden Power your pokemon uses. But this Gen introduced Hyper Training which changes your Pokemons stats to match having perfect IVs so you only really need to worry about the Hidden Power type if you're running it.
