Yeah sure, nerf Reshiram and keep all the usual spammer-crap the same... Thanks Bamco.

You're complaining about "spam," but you think the assist that pushes you full screen, does ludicrous chip damage, nearly guard breaks on its own and can't be jumped over or CADCed through is fine?

...????

They could at least just clean out the whole thing if they are able to nerf that stuff.

Everyone used Reshiram. It was too good.

I think Cresselia is the one of the pair that needed nerfs. Being usable only once is too inconsequential for free meter.

Speaking of assists, is it just me or does Magikarp have some weird properties? I swear it's support gauge has a shorter recharge time after you use it the first time in a round.

Yeah, in most rounds the Support is only used once as it is.

Even though it's one unlocked from the get-go, I go with Snivy/Lapras. Snivy is good at stopping all the aerial beasts I keep facing and Lapras homes in and does decent damage.

Let's be honest, Reshiram was pretty cheese, if you're in motion with even the slightest action that isn't standing perfectly still or already blocking Reshiram's beam can get summoned in and blow your arse across the field dealing good damage and lowering the attack stat. While it's not the only support that can strike near instantly it's easily the most potent.
And even when blocked it forces you backwards (as someone who typically lacks projectiles this ain't fun) , greatly weakens your shield and I think there's a good amount of chip damage as well.

Now obviously the idea is that it would be balanced out by being a slow support but when you factor the Nia Cheers into things it like the synergy burst sort of gets thrown out of whack....
Now I think about it, fuuuuuck the cheer system.

I'm guessing they will either add short delay to when the beam fires so it's not instant, or maybe take off the attack debuff it places on your opponent. With the damage/pressure dealt it doesn't really need that extra effect.

Or maybe it's not balance at all and they're just shortening the damn animation, lol

I use Rotom/Togekiss mostly. I simply acknowledge that Reshiram is so powerful that it harmed Support diversity. Why pick any of the other defensive Supports when Reshiram is a better version of most of them? Fennekin especially was eclipsed since Reshiram far outclassed it in damage and added a debuff without any drawbacks.

It was perfect for surviving a burst. Took like a third of the bar at least, while at the same time pushing them back the entire screen, made even better by the debuff. Only way to avoid it was if the opponent was jumping and directly over you.

After much pondering I finally decided to spend my little money I had on Pokken for this month. It should arrive on April 8th. I also had a free trial of amazon prime and got $12 off Pokken! I thought it was only preorders so with some other money I should be able to pay off Zero Escape aswell!

THE DEMO IS ON THE ESHOP THERE IS JUSTICE IN THE UNIVERSE
Right after I buy it XD. Oh well, I'm sure I'll love it.

Been really looking forward to it! See yall online!

Delaying the shot would probably be good at removing its defensive properties.

Ha, demo is out now? I also just bought it 😛. Well, I'm pretty confident I'll enjoy it.

Well, I suppose it depends on how much. It doesn't strike me as being designed as a Fennekin-like ability but the beam comes out so fast that's how it ends up working. If it had a very short delay it could still be used defensively but would have to be part of a more obvious punish situation.

I don't think they should go overboard. Honestly taking away the debuff or a slight damage reduction might be fine if they don't want to change how it's used. I guess we'll see what they decided soon.

I think the debuff is fine and is part of the original design.

It's a demo. Demos shouldn't be the full game.

Absolutely not. But they should be a showcase of what the game has to offer and that it most definitely is not.

Nintendo games only go up in price.

It still surprises me to this day that people seem to believe to this. Been doing this for 18 years now and I still haven't had to pay more than 20€ for any game (the only games I could never get my hands on where the GC and Wii Fire Emblems because frankly it's just ridiculous). It's all about where you look. Specialty shops/websites should be avoided like the plague if one seeks a bargain. Gumtree/craigslist (depending on where you live) is most definitely where it's at.

After beating the Green League and experiencing how easy it is I was really frightened to go online.

I only fought one person but we seemed pretty evenly matched as we rematched several times and kept it pretty balanced. Wish there was an easier way to challenge people on your friends list (as always Nintendo) but otherwise fun game to compliment SFV for me, feels very different.

Edit: how does leveling up affect you online? Say I go online with 5 attack...am I going to be fighting others who have a much higher level because they've been playing longer?

Is this a bug? If you don't press any buttons during recovery frames, it supposedly gets extended?

I hope it is. This really hurts Machamp because it makes his grab setups too risky.

you mean like if you get knocked down you can wake up later by not doing anything?
sounds like an anti vortex measure

This game... I have to take a break from it, first time in my life I pulled the power cable from a system and just did not give a damn (i thought i would never rage quit but this is a first).
Some match ups are just horrible and I am too stubborn to pick a new main (sceptile) stuck in D2 purgatory fighting C4+.
May all yellow rodents burn a quick swift death...

Dang, and I just got the game and I like Sceptile. Haven't played online at all yet though. Is he really that much of a struggle?

Maybe I am not very good but sceptile is in it for the long fight. Combo damage is low even after optimizing all his set ups(also does not help that combos change per character more than i would like).
The harder match ups for me are the ones who can just ignore the trap game and pika can do just that.
Not that sceptile needs it to do well but I feel sceptile is about constant pressure with traps and forcing them into predictable options. In my honest opinion pika is
his hardest match up followed by team range (water dog, floating lamp, and furry) with mewtwo(both) being hit or miss.
The ditto is also pretty funny since i guess most dont use his traps and go with leaf blade/seed pressure so I dont really lose that match up.

There are few things more satisfying than dashing under gardevoir's jumping beam and landing a Sky Uppercut.

Edit: I'm revising my top 5. Replace Shadow Mewtwo with Vanilla. I didn't realise how good he is at every range/scenario.

It took over 300 matches but at last, someone rage quit against me, truly my online experience is now complete.
Made me chuckle though, Garchomp mirror match, my superior Green reigned supreme.

If I could use that alt colour permanently I would.

I dunno. Reshiram is definitely good but I never got the impression he was broken.

I use Cubone/Diglett anyhow so I'm pretty indifferent towards the nerf

I used to be indifferent towards reshiram.

Then it started being used as an anti-air against me when I was literally in melee range.

And then I got salty.

Don't you love seeing yourself improve? D2 is where I hit my first wall in ranked, kept losing. But I dunno, experience kicked in, and I started winning! I was doing setups and trying new combos, now I'm D1 awaiting a rank up!

The matchmaking is excellent in this game. Really helps further your skill! The fact that it's so quick, makes it quite addicting.

Hey when Pikachu(or is it Pikachu Libre?) does that blue electro net, is that a counter? I never know if I should grab that or attack it.

Passed the 100 ranked matches this week-end, nearly reaching 60% WR. I don't think I played that many ranked in a game except SFIV.

Indeed, matchmaking is on point, I never waited more than 5 seconds to find an opponent except maybe 1 or 2 times. All fighting games should be like that now. It's a pleasant surprise to see that Pokkén, of all the fighters out there, is raising the bar like that.
