Poll: Michele Bachmann Leads Dem Opponent By 9 Points
Bachmann, a national tea party star who ran an unsuccessful campaign for president in the Republican primaries, leads with 50 percent against Graves with 41 percent, according to SurveyUSA. The survey of 598 likely voters was conducted Oct. 9 through 11, and has a 4.1 percent margin of error.

:(

It would nice to get rid of her and Joe Walsh.

man, if he keeps up the IA/OH/NH firewalls

b3Kz2.png

I don't see a scenario where NH is decisive in putting him over. I do see a scenario where NH puts him at 269, but it's hard for me to imagine Romney NOT becoming president if that happens. The VP being picked by the Senate would be interesting, though. :lol

If he can win Ohio, he just needs to get either VA, IA or NV and make sure nothing crazy happens like PA or WI flipping.

Fake edit: ok, I suppose if Obama loses Ohio but wins VA and either IA or NV, NH then becomes decisive. That situation seems pretty unlikely to me.

I despise Paul Ryan. I don't even feel that way about Romney. But I despise that man

I'm honestly not sure which of the two I despite more. Though I think if I ever had to pick a combination of politicians I have the least respect for it'd definitely be Romney and Ryan. Sure there might be another more scary combination of politicians, but I just don't respect these two at all.

I gotta admit...if you didn't understand the electoral college and just looked at the map, I would cry foul with Romney losing under those circumstances if I supported him.

Yeah, I bet people get pissed that such a large area of the US votes Republican but the Dems can still win. I guess that's what the GOP gets for being the party of a half a million square miles of corn and mountains.

Why does not the guy with the most votes become president? I guess that "majority" thing has not reached USA yet?

There's actually nothing inherently beneficial about pure democracy and it fact it can be pretty awfully terrible, if you happen to be in any kind of minority.

There are plenty of arguments for reforming the electoral college but a straight popular vote doesn't actually solve the problems we have with the electoral college, it would just move the attention of the campaigns from swing states to the northeast and California.

I third this.

Romney is just a clumsy, privileged opportunist. His sort are a dime a dozen.

Ryan is greasy and slimey in a very particular way. To me, he is a pseudo-intellectual randian thug, who gives the impression that he believes he is incredibly clever and expertly manipulative. (While being totally transparent to anyone who can think.)

Ryan's a pure con-man, base as an unwashed guy on the street corner with a coat full of "authentic" Rolex watches.

I've never liked SUSA polls in Minnesota. They affiliate with a local channel here and I never believe the narrative they're selling on any of their polls. Think they swing a few points R. So maybe it's 47-42 Bachmann right now.

That isn't much better...

Its hillarious how whatever Ryan does is twisted by libgaf. When Ryan does sth nice: yeah pffff he only do it for the PR....inside he wants to end mankind....when Obama sends out a mass email asking for donations...in a down to earth language: woooooow Obama is really a nice guy!!!!

yes gaf...Obama is really so nice for saying Whats up [insert your name] in an email begging for 500 usd, written by his PR staff....

You guys do know Obama is a truly selfish person who wants to do everything in his own way...so much that he did not even take the advices of his staff when prepping for the debate....even the nicest dudes gets weird when 150 million people see him as some Cult of personality type among mere mortals...

he is just a damn politician....thats it...i would be disgusted by myself if i behave like many of his die hard fans....in europe they would call him right wing nutjob....but in USA you either call him communist or hero of the people....

there is not even anything particularily left about him...he is rather a moderate democrat...period....

not the utilarian gandhi some of you want him to be....

heck Bill Gates is a better candidate for that title....i mean the man basically given billions upon billions for charity...

your man anyway is prob. in the independent green party....

i cant blame Obama for becoming a megalomaniac who is not human enough to even debate Romney....i would also stick to the cozy teleprompter speeches of he oval office...if i had 30000 ppl. hailing me like i won ww2 single handidly, everytime i holds a speech....

Everyone agrees that he is a moderate, right of center, pragmatist democrat. It's you who've been shitting up the thread with poorly written strawmen for weeks.

Seriously, Ryan visits a soup kitchen for a photo op without permission when their policy is not to allow anyone to do that and us criticizing him is the bad thing in that situation.

I weep for the country that re-elects somebody as visibly insane as Michelle Bachmann.

It's not national, it's probably some sort of collective insanity in the area caused by a sewage leak from the local chemical manufacturers or something.

is the EV meant to benefit smaller states or is it just part of that whole old thing of making things the opposite of effeciency...in order to decentralize power...which was relevant 200 yo but now just makes the country slower to move than a supertanker?

So, how do you feel about Obama's community work in poor Chicago neighborhoods?

The Romney campaign is giving away an electric guitar signed by Paul Ryan and Kid Rock. Meg at Cognitive Dissonance noticed that the guitar looks like an Epiphone model. Stranger music expert Dave Segal independently came to the conclusion that it's an Epiphone guitar based on the shape of the "head stock," which is apparently a thing. Why does this matter? As Cognitive Dissonance notes, Epiphone guitars are made in China:

Oh Mittens.

Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel, the Republican nominee for Ohio's U.S. Senate seat, said during a debate Monday afternoon that he would have voted against the auto bailout package.

...

Mandel used the contentious, hour-long debate to rail against the auto bailout, the federal bailout for financial services companies, and the federal stimulus program, saying that Brown has not voted to create jobs.

"I am not a bailout senator; he is the bailout senator," Mandel said of Brown.

Oh Mandel. That should seal it for Brown in Ohio.
