Trump needs to turn his attention to Carson if he wants to win the nomination. The meters still aren't moving for Rubio. The right is done with establishment candidates.

No he doesn't. Carson is concentrating the evangelical vote around himself, much like Huckabee did in 08. He can play spoiler in southern states but he doesn't have enough support to be a legitimate threat in more moderate areas.

Trump still has better numbers and even republicans who don't favor him feel he would be the best on economic issues by a landslide.

Convincing the Rubio/Cruz/Jeb crowd that he's legitimate and/or those candidates can't win is a MUCH more viable strategy than trying to make a run at the Jesus nuts propping up Carson.

Guys, if Trump loses, do you think he's going to try and run again in 2020?

I was thinking about McCain and Romney.

Probably not. If he's running for ego, he'll get it out of his system this time around. His personal "brand" is going to skyrocket after this no matter what happens.

If he's running to actually be PRESIDENT, running against an incumbent is much harder than a new candidate, barring some kind of disaster.

I think he's a one and done kind of candidate. McCain is a career politician (trump has other interests) and Romney desperately wanted the presidency for personal reasons. Neither of those descriptions really fits the Donald.

The best way to sell socialism is to let the flaws of capitalism continuously grow and widen.

I completely disagree. It isn't hard to argue that many socialist or leaning socialist economies are worse off than capitalist ones right now. A thoroughly market economy with a good safety net is where we want to be. While America spends a lot on a safety net right now I would argue that it is poorly spent, with too many programs.

The more I think about it, Trump does not need to attack anyone except vague things, like he's been doing since start. Three debates later he is still the leader in polls, which he got there by talking about low-energy, looking presidential, CHAI-NA, amnesty, walls, etc. He tried to attack Jebby on 9/11 but had a small backfire.

I'm waiting to see what new post-debate polls say. I won't be surprised by anything.

Edit: Carson wants to eliminate televised debates? What an idiot.

My rankings of least to most dangerous (when it comes to leading the country) of those left in the GOP race (ignoring those in the kids' debate):

Trump
Rubio
Kasich
Jeb
Christie
Paul
Huckabee
Cruz
Fiorina

.
Carson

I'm not sure if Fiorina is that far behind Carson. She's a lying, conniving, evil little witch and she smacks of fascism. I can't put Carson on that level yet, regardless of how ignorant he is.

Cruz and Carson near the bottom? They are easily the most dangerous as leaders because they truly believe in their insane nonsense they state. Most of the rest just are politically ambitious and will say whatever it takes to get elected even if they don't give a shit about it or not.

It's from least dangerous to most dangerous.

Jeb...."i love my dad. I'd kill for him. I'd go to prison for him" - meet the press right now.

That's an interesting response about a question regarding if it's frustrating to be losing and be a Bush.

Personally, I'm not very fond of it (the narration seems a bit forced and uneven, and the tone comes across as cheesy even though it's supposed to be serious), but it'll do it's job in informing the public on who Bernie Sanders is, I suppose.

There's some good parts but yeah I guess it could have been better. It starts off a bit slow. The whole husband/father/grandfather part is a bit cheesy towards the end. Best part of the ad is when Bernie speaks talking about the corrupt system and how we need real change. I think a better ad would have been his own constituents from Vermont telling us who Bernie is. "I'm a Democrat and I support Bernie Sanders." "I'm a Republican and I support Bernie Sanders." "I'm an independent and I support Bernie Sanders." Expand that idea out with some tidbit stories on why they feel the Bern and that he has the vision and leadership skills to be President.

This idea of having two 90-min debates with randomly chosen candidates is stupid. I want to see the number 1 candidate fight with the number 2. Imagine if the Dem field in 2008 was this huge, and we ended up with Obama in one randomly chosen debate and Hillary in the other.

The Jindal-tier need to go home.

Royal Rumble. Last one remaining gets to stay.

Or they could do a money in the bank and the winner gets to cash in for one debate only. Keep the rest of them guessing when they'll do it. Will it be the debate on foreign policy? the economy? Who knows?

I agree that capitalism is generally good at economic growth, but that's not where most of its negatives lie. Also, can you think of any socialist economies right now other than the heavily embargoed Cuba?

Shouldn't that say something?

Not really, historically there are various reasons as to why there currently aren't many socialist countries. Some of the reason why is because of the pressure put on the countries by the United States and others. Something not being commonly implemented does not reflect on its potential usefulness. A capitalist government and the rich and powerful have no incentive to leave the status quo.

So it does say something. A country isn't an island (well....).

You can't just say it doesn't say something then in your explanation say exactly what it says: the world is interdependent and planned socialism as been attempted in many countries and failed.

Whose bad idea was it to put a grey filter on the whole thing? They could keep the black and white beginning, but when the color parts happen they're still 'overshadowed'. If you want to sell a message of real change and positivity you have to make it bright!

Very few minorities. Mostly young white college kids in that ad.

Technically, it doesn't really matter for IA/NH.

I just find it amusing sometimes to observe the production of these things from a more technical standpoint.

It's better than Jeb's FLYING CG NUMBERS AND DRAMATIC MUSIC ad lol

Ya, but it's still not as good as Carson's big, pink furry box.

I was watching CNN out of the corner of my eye this morning and there was some thing that seemed like: Paul Ryan: "It's not your choice, it's God's choice", with Ryan referring to abortion? It's God choice to have you carry the baby of your rapist or your abuser or to carry a pregnancy to term while in extreme poverty? Huh?

Ryan being hated for not being far-right enough is mildly frightening.

I'd put Venezuela and Argentina in the leaning socialist category, and both are doing poorly.

Huckabee pls

“It was the law of the land when I was governor, and I faithfully dealt with it. To be honest with you, it is not a deterrent anymore because it's seldom used. It clogs up the courts, it costs a ton of money,” Bush said.

“I'm informed by my faith in many things, and this is one of them. So I have to admit that I'm conflicted about this,” he added. “But here's the deal, this happens in rare cases where the death penalty's given out and you meet family members that have lost a loved one and it's still in their heart. It's etched in their soul. And this is the way that they get closure? I get more comfortable with it, to be honest with you.”

Bush did not say which changes he'd pursue, though in the past he has called for limits on judicial appeals. He stressed that he is still in favor of the death penalty.

“But,” he added, “we should reform it. If it's to be used as a deterrent, it has to be reformed. It can't take 25 years. That does no one any good. Neither the victims nor the state is solving this problem with that kind of tangled judicial process.”

Hey, hey, hey, Jeb

Fuck you and the rest of your worthless family.
