Bernie's applause lines aren't getting much applause.

EDIT: And now he's drawing the wrong conclusion from those stats he's citing.

He really hasn't damaged the party's chances as of now. And he's not going to win.

Not yet. I'll repeat what I said earlier. There needs to be some studies showing the impact of the expected Republican ads (edit: and talking points that will be used in debates and in the media) on Democrats and Independents for both canidates.

That seems to be the biggest point of contention in this election on the Dem side with the current Republican congress. Who will have an easier time winning the General Election?

I mean, if a 74 year old self-admitted socialist is enough to threaten the Dems chances in Nov, that the party is in worse shape than I thought.

Sanders bombing? I'm opting to play Dark Cloud 2 instead.

I should get back to playing that, but I ended up buying Elder Scrolls Online for PC and I've been playing that ever since, lol. Been over a year since a MMORPG bit me like this.

This line of logic is so annoying.

This is a primary. As we've seen with republicans a base can ruin an otherwise strong party.

"If you increase everyone to $15, won't the prices increase to reflect?"

And Bernie just said "oh you'll be a lot better off" and then moved on. What a weird thing.

Maybe if you didn't cut her off you would have heard her question

Again, there's a better way to answer that but that to many sounds like someone who has never lived through inflation

eh. Bernie said your hamburger would go up a few cents but everyone would be better off for it, which is correct and honest. Didn't mind his minimum wage answer at all.

But he totally dodged the girl's college question on whether free college would be efficient. He went back to a talking point.

I wish they had given her the opportunity to call him out like the other guy.

A college degree really shouldn't be the same as a high school diploma. Credentialism is dumb.

But the question was about efficiency and innovation.

How about instead of college it would push kids to go into a wide variety of trades?

Not necessarily free trade school, but significantly less costs? Especially for jobs that our infrastructure relies on, as well as clean energy, and any future industries that may need some middle class work?

Would that be a reasonable alternative?

IIRC, pre-employment testing used to be used more often but there was some sort of lawsuit that left companies unable to use it to screen (due to discrimination?)- memory could be off on this.

I think devaluation of other vocations and credential elitism mentality in the US is probably a part. So I could see investing in other job paths as good.

On the whole though, I just don't particularly see how someone spending 8 years to struggle through or drop out of a liberal arts degree is of benefit to society or that individual. And I don't see how it being free fixes that. I am probably in the minority opinion though.

I often have this same thing but Sanders habit of talking over people is a bad look. It implies you aren't listening and are already moving on to your point. His handlers need to tell him to stop that,

A wounded vet just asked Bernie why as chairman of the VA committee, the VA continues to suck and Bernie just flipped it to the Koch brothers... That was AWFUL

Bernie siding with Dixiecrats and Teapublicans in 2007 by voting against the immigration reform bill and by saying Obama should be primaried in 2012 are deal breakers for me.

I used to be neutral, but now I'm anti Bernie

The dude is using the Democratic Party when in the past he has trashed it on numerous occasions. Most of his supporters are not even Democrats, they're ideologues plain and simple who would rather watch it all "bern" down with President Trump or President Cruz at the helm.

That's just basic manners and he does it a LOT. I hate when people do that. It's hard to control myself from calling people out at work that do that. They're the type of people that will take it as an insult if you bring it up.

Wait, this is from the same crowd that bitches about how ignorant voters are, right?

Higher education, regardless of whether it prepares you for a specific job, is a worthy goal in and of itself.

However, even now, the very same college system that is eating the financial lives of students is also not very good at preparing graduates for a world where advances are coming so fast that only active, lifelong learning will be adequate.

It really isn't. That people think this (and that vocational education is "lesser") is a big issue in the US.

You're taking a grand total of 40 courses for a college degree, the majority of which are specialized. Your general education ends in HS.
