There was high turnout in my precinct, which is generally a conservative suburban district, but with a fair number of Democrats mixed in. It looked to be half the normal turnout by 9:30.

Seriously though, if this was the case wouldn't it have shown in polls? More likely seems a lot of people are amped up to vote for/against both candidates. I hope you're right though.

I live in a 98% white suburb in Missouri. Lots of retirees, blue collar types, lower-to-middle class workers in my district. There are no super controversial amendments on the ballot, save for a confusing cigarette tax.

I waited in line for an hour and a half. Biggest turnout I've ever seen, x5. This is NUTS.

Tell me this: How on earth are you gonna tell me Trump motivated all these obviously, normally conservative leaning folks to get out and vote. Do they really hate Hillary that much? This is my mindfuck right now. Why is turnout so high in a district like mine? Are these almost definitely conservative people all SUPER EXCITED to vote for Trump or against Hillary?

I don't buy it. This is my gut here but I'm thinking we're going to see record turnout all over the country just like this and it's all going to fall into the Clinton column. There's no way what I saw was a 44-41 split of antithapetic voters. No fucking way.

So square this, PoliGAF: Either Trump is turning out the vote in unprecedented ways, or there's a big big contingent of voters coming out secretly against him.Which one?

I'll say it's a bit of both. For example white women voting for Hillary. But I wouldn't be surprised if Trump was able to really get lots of people to the polls who normally wouldn't. This election has been so entertaining, and Trump has been so front and center of it, that it might have an effect.

I'm not exactly bed wetting, and I hope I'm wrong, but it's nothing I would rule out.
