Seeing some gaffers revealing their pro-Trump affiliations on Twitter this morning. Including some people who came in here, made a couple of posts, then left when they realized they were probably alone here.

It's making me wonder if his supporters will shrink back when Donald loses. I'm sure we've all been wondering this for a while. But if he makes a legitimate concession speech, and the media stops giving him a pass for every heinous and deplorable thing he does on a weekly basis, I could see Trump supporters shrinking away. My hope is that there is a degree of embarrassment of being rejected so publicly. To have your ideology crushed and stonewalled should, at best, make you more introspective. But, at worst, maybe you'll just stop talking.

If Donald's concession speech is combative and he doesn't stop campaigning, I don't know how we'll deal with that. He doesn't have to run for president, but he could still be a figure who holds rallies of dissent. What would we do if he just continues campaigning against the president and telling his supporters to take back America? We would have a pretty enormous sect of indecent people organized and motivated to combat a liberal America. That's some scary stuff.

Because I feel like Fox and CNN are going to continue to give Donald all the coverage and airtime he wants because he will continue to drive viewership. He has a cult beneath him - he will continue to be news. Is there any escaping it?

Parking was nuts at our polling place, line was out the door but just barely past the 30 foot mark, so not too shabby. It moved quick.

I will say it was an odd experience this year; the polling place was absolutely packed like I've never seen before. 30m wait for what is usually no line or 5m at worst. Even stranger was the complete lack of Trump signs/bumper stickers, used to rows of Romney/McCain signs on the way to polling place.
Adjusted Leader: Trump +15

Yep, I said this 3 OTs ago;

I don't think the voters Trump has left have any such compunctions, and at the very least can still step into the booth, vote the way they want, and lie about it later. A few months from now I'm sure there will be millions of people who swear they voted for Gary Johnson in protest. Dude's gonna get like eight votes and everyone's going to say one of them was theirs.

When it becomes clear that the American people reject Trump's bigotry, that sort of behavior isn't going to have a cover anymore and a lot of people are going to be power-walking that shit back, saying they were only joking and whatnot.

Thanks to everyone here for the wild ride, I'm fairly optimistic today that you guys will be making the right decision. I'll be staying up all night here in the UK to follow this election as I have done for the last three election. I've been three for three in my preferred candidates winning so hopefully Hillary continues that tradition.

Voted Hillary Clinton and straight Democrat. Thanks Poligaf for this wild ride! I said this in the other thread but I'm confident in Clinton and think she' she'll make a great president but even if this election was between George W. Bush and Donald Trump, I'd vote for Bush even with full knowledge of how terrible he would be. The things Trump has said and plans to do are far more dangerous and destructive than anything Bush did.

Clinton campaign has been pessimistic all year. They thought they'd lose Massachusetts. They were also truthful about Michigan.

My message to facebook friends today:

Hey guys, member Sega Dreamcast?

Member Nintendo 64? Member Star Trek Deep Space 9? Membeerrr?

Member Super Metroid and Yoshi's Island? Ooh ooh I memberrrrr!

Bill Clinton gave us all that. He, himself, physically created everything that was fun in the 90s. He blew all that shit out of a saxophone of coolness into your living room while Monica Lewinsky ran the economy.

A vote for Hillary is a vote for all of the things that were good in the world. She's gonna give us Super Metroid again. We'll probably get Mega Man if the senate goes blue. Taking the house means Half Life 3.

Go vote.

Votecastr is a trash idea.

I am 100% convinced early exit polling (some of which was released just after lunch time EST) on 2004 election day is what quashed any chance Kerry had. Reports were everywhere on radio, TV, and the Internet that Kerry was leading exit polling in swing states. I believe that energized Bush voters and depressed voting for Kerry.

Kerry wasn't a good candidate and the swiftboat stuff hurt him, but that exit polling debacle was garbage. They stopped releasing that information that early after that.

It may not be exactly exit polling, but it's still something for people to track and say, "Eh, I don't need to go now."

I'm literally begging you all to not do the Votecastr thing. That data is going to be useless and just freak you all out. Don't. It's a terrible idea, and it should never have been done.

Well I'm basically throwing away my vote in Mississippi in a few minutes, but at least my vote will go towards a national vote total to fully discount Donald and I can have a clean conscious that I did what I could. +1 straight D ticket, I doubt a single one of my choices wins.

I'm confident about NV, but do we have final numbers on how FL, NH, and NC were looking? Especially NC, eager to see how things may have tightened there. Plouffe was saying on Keepin It 1600 last night he expects Hillary to have an easier win in FL then NC.

I was considering staying up late to see the result (I live in EU), but the winner is usually declared sometime 5-6am my local time (earliest) so I guess just waking up earlier than usual makes more sense.

Good luck US! Let's hope for peaceful voting.
