Rubio's answer to the campaign finance question

"Bernie Sanders is a socialist. If you want to live in a socialist country, then move to a socialist country. I believe in free enterprise."

Terrible. But its better than the roundabout circle I get thrown in every time Hillary answers it.

Guys but.... where would we be without banks. They finance small, medium and large businesses so they can employ people, and produce things or provide services. They give me credit cards so I can buy stuff (which I pay off at the end of the month, and get the rewards). 5 years ago they allowed me to buy a small condo, which I'm now renting to someone. They helped me purchase my first car 13 years ago. They keep my savings and checking.

The way Bernie talks you would think he wants all bankers executed. Finance fucking moves the WORLD. Yes, unbridled and unrestricted finance can and has lead to disasters. But that doesn't mean you label off the entire thing as evil.

And I don't want my education being paid for by others, but thanks for the thought.

I don't think anybody would deny that banking, in the abstract, is not evil, but it's not like the modern banking system developed in a vacuum. Bankers used their money and political influence to engineer favorable laws and political conditions for themselves, lived an extremely lavish style built on the backs of extremely risky and often-predatory loans, then totally flouted responsibility and punishment when the system came crashing down and plunged millions into unemployment and poverty. That the system does good does not mean there is not much evil in it that needs to be purged. Society is better for having police departments, too, but yeah, firebreathing language demands to be used to combat police brutality, the blue wall of silence, and the many minor instances of corruption and bumbling that are swept under the rug every day across the country.

Why the fuck is Rubio taking such a hard line on immigration. He wants to win one state, and go to a brokered convention. Even if all that happens and he gets the nomination, he is going to have to walk ALL of this back.

He's now at " I want to build a fence, not a wall, and not along the entire way so I can funnel people into concentrated areas".. Like is this supposed to be his moderate way of appealing to Latinos? Its fucking ridiculous.

He's aiming at Cubans.

I don't get it either. This is your last chance. Be the same for ONCE. Instead he doubles down.

He's going to need the help from a lot more groups than Cubans to get anywhere politically .

Jeb! did well with Cubans. He's really squandering his opportunity to be someone in the party who actually wants to grow their base rather than also help shrink it.

I had a Republican coworker today tell me the line of "But Marco Rubio is just like Obama" referencing to the time when Obama first ran for President.

My memory is shaky, but besides being more intelligent, inspirational and charismatic what did Obama have back then that Rubio doesn't?

Coherent policy positions.

Empathy.

A chance of winning.

There isn't a good position on immigration for republicans, they invented a losing issue for themselves and then spent the majority of the primary arguing it.

He's already flipped over to the hard line republican stance, I don't know that flopping back would help him.

A message that resonates with their party base.

Marco Rubio is closer to Harold Ford Jr. than Obama.

Rubio is really basically an archconservative. He's WAY too conservative for the base the media was trying to sell him to.
