PoliGAF 2016 |OT3| You know what they say about big Michigans - big Florida

And she won 20 delegates today lol. Hilly-GAF you wouldnt survive a day as a Bernie stan.
Nope. I was an ardent Bernie supporter from the day he announced up until around December. And then my delusions came crashing down as I realized how wrong he was on everything.

I would like to say that Ted Cruz has impressed me, in terms of how smartly he's run his campaign. I suspect that, were Trump not in the race, he would be the frontrunner right now.

And now the part that matters.

Sanders fans now all about how Hillary has no firewalls left
That's terrible planning by her campaign. If the same thing is going on in FL and OH then she's not wrapping this up for a while.

Oh, bitch bitch bitch.
Reposting my last thought from the other thread:

I am genuinely amazed that millennial liberals aren't turning out for the first candidate to ever frame issues of oppression in terms of intersectionality. I hadn't realized a.) just how effective a 20 year smear campaign could be and b.) just how much other "considerations" go out the window when you find a candidate who taps into economic bitterness

I dont see how this is amazing at all.

I must say, Benji, that after years and years of JayDubya shitting in and derailing every single political thread with long-winded libertarian rants, it's refreshing to have a resident libertarian who basically "gets" that his philosophy doesn't have a lot of traction and just has fun with shitting on the hypocrisies of the mainstream, instead. It's entertaining, it's informative, and it's a unique niche. Kudos.

I actually think John Kasich has done pretty brilliantly. He didn't have the national profile that Trump or even Cruz have when he started, only qualified for the first national debate because of the timing in which he announced his candidacy, and is now poised to be the establishment's only hope for the GOP. He's done pretty phenomenally all things considered.

I think Hillary is almost guaranteed FL and, after MI, Bernie is almost guaranteed OH.

I don't know if Hillary is going to fall asleep at the wheel again in Ohio. Surely Bernie will be more competitive, but I don't know if a 2% win translates into a guarantee.

She and other Dems also actually have to work with fracking companies/
Yes, in her role as Secretary of State she worked effectively to spread fracking into Europe. Of course, given that she's only spent two terms as an elected official, she's had considerably less experience dealing with gas and oil companies as an elected official than Bernie, who's been caucusing with the Dems for decades.

Regardless, when the majority of the party is against fracking, supporting fracking is unlikely to help you much in the Democratic primaries.

Agreed.

Hillary showed after New Hampshire her formidable ability to course correct. She's not going to underestimate what this loss means for how she's presenting herself.

I imagine some members of her campaign staff aren't getting any sleep tonight. lol

Are those open primaries? Are there any more open primaries left?

Ohio is open, Florida is closed.

Some more open primaries/caucuses coming up are: Wisconsin, Washington, Indiana and Missouri.

Ohio is whiter than MI. Given that, I think the safer money is on Bernie winning OH.

Ohio is semi-open.

And safer money isn't a guarantee. It'll be interesting to see how her campaign reacts.

Mook should be diablosing now then. She does not do well with independents. Debate tomorrow is probably going to be brutal. She needs to somehow create an underdog narrative or something soon to motivate some folks.

This is literally the opposite of what anyone needs to do.

Yeah, but I doubt you can do it with the smug surety that everybody who disagrees with you is an immoral asshole. jackissocool was getting to be the socialist version of that, but he appears to have been banned. Maybe it'll chill him out a bit.
This sounds like a challenge.

Actually, I never have really felt that people who support massive oppressive violence against innocents to be immoral assholes, they're just misguided. And can be taught through careful consideration and conversation. JayDubya just doesn't suffer fools gladly. (Plus I think he supports the state.)

Unlike people who think Mario Kart 64 is the best Mario Kart. Or people who disparage Metroid Prime. Those are the real villains.

But no, I could probably do it because sometimes it seems like I could pretty much play any side of any argument in any fashion.

I wonder if Trump dominating Hawaii is a good sign that he can win in California (where there are also no Republicans and the ones that are left are more liberal) even one-on-one against Cruz.

Except for that whole swath of hardcore conservatives running down the center of the state.

EDIT: Some of the most conservative House members come from pretty safe CA districts: Tom McClintock, Ed Royce, Dana Rohrabacher, Darrell Issa, the two Duncan Hunters, Kevin McCarthy,

That feels like... three years ago, at least.

Curse you slippery devil.
I would like Sanders and Cruz to be the candidates just as a sort of actual "choice, not an echo" campaign. With no major independent candidate. It would be interesting.

Anything involving Trump is interesting too. A Trump Presidency is the most intriguing followed by Sanders, then Cruz.
