To fuel my ego, I'm just going to assume it's the former and ignore anyone who says otherwise.

hahaha, I've been laughing for what it's worth

Who is the person who knows how to check Hotlines daily tracking poll before it is released? I know someone here figured out how.

You have been melting face in my opinion. Please keep it up so that no one on our team gets stuffy and self-righteous like the other guys.

I may be ODing on hopium, but I just expect that gap to get wider from here on out. I saw a snippet of McCain talking about the economy, and he has no fire for it whatsoever. And I don't think it's going to go away as an issue again, like it did this last month.

Remember one thing kids. Obama always goes down on weekends, even in June/July when he was sailing ahead with not a care in the world. So don't panic if he goes down 1-2 points on sat or sun

The tax increases Obama is proposing would basically raise the taxes of someone making $250,000 by 3%. That is roughly $7500 more in taxes. 3% of Americans make more than $250,000. While I am not a socialist, I fail to see how this is something to get upset about.

So:

Ras: +4 O
R2K: +6 O
Gallup: +4 O
Ras: tied

Should be some more state polling coming out later today. Some of the state polling that came out yesterday, combined with the daily tracker changes, are going to start pushing things back to Obama territory in the 538 tracker pretty soon.

If Obama can hold onto a +3 or so lead in the trackers going into the first debate, I'd say that Obama would be looking to seal the deal, while McCain is going to be scratching for ways to get back in the fight. Keep in mind that if the tracker is tied on Nov. 3, Obama still probably wins 300+ EVs.

Today's averages:
Research 2000: Obama + 6
Rasmussen: Tied
Gallup: Obama + 4
Diageo Hotline: Obama + 4
Average: Obama + 3.5

Obama has gone up, on average, three points since Sunday.

McCain has one week to turn things around. Because the first debate is on domestic issues and it will be brutal combined with what's happening now.

So...

Hotline +4
Gallup +4
R2000 +6
Rasmussen Tied

*whips out calculator*

I believe that's an average of.... 3.something.

EDIT: Ha. Nice.

Basically we are where we were in July again, which is a good thing.

Because that's 3% of their money that will no longer trickle down to us poor folk. The rich got that money because they are financial wizards, and they understand where that money needs to go. You'd rather trust ineffectual government fatcats with it?

Another great thing about these posts is that you do them with much better spelling and punctuation than AndyIsTheMoney and laserbeam.

Lets see who do I trust more. Obama and who he picks to run the government or selfish rich business people.

I think just maybe I trust Obama more.

You make me sick with your right wing bullshit that you believe so fervently in. You're a sick monster. I would put you on ignore if my indignation was even 10% less righteous.

I am now attuned.

Sadly, you quoted that before I spotted a grammatical error in my post, but thanks all the same.

I expect Obama to further solify his lead at 47+ within a week. The debates will only strengthen Obama's lead, barring any mayor fuck-ups.

Seems the US electorate is finally catching up on all the bs the McCain campaign has been spewing. McCain has little more than platitudes to offering on issues like the economy and foreign policy. Besides, Biden is gonna tear Palin apart at the VP debate.

So I better see a whole host of "What's wrong with Mccain", and "why can't he get X voters", and "Party insiders worried" stories in the mainstream media much as I saw with Obama in upcoming days...

They NEVER do those stories. How many times have you heard "McCain has a hispanic problem". Never.

I think the focus on the economy will do a much better job of this than those stupid stories. People seem to gravitate Democrat when they're reminded the economy's in the shitter.

Good news on the charts, but I'm incredibly fearful of the crap McCain camp can pull leading up to Nov. 4th.

They have nothing and have undermined their ability to hit below the belt by going so trivial and negative out of the convention (and then getting called out big time on doing so).

McCain will be 44 on Nov. 4. By that, I mean that he'll be getting 44% of the vote on average in the swing states where he is currently "competing".

I think like Nate said on 538, they may have shot their wad too soon.

The economy stuff especially, Palin has already turned out to be a liability, the press has turned on them in a large way, September 12th and beyond, the Dems have been hitting back hard. There is no way the GOP could have forseen this.

This has to be a joke post. You can't possibly be this oblivious of reality.

When you consider that most republicans vote the way they do, because they're simply not in the know... that they don't bother to keep in the know... (in fact most people are like that; but the facts support the dems...(or as I made the point before, supports a centrist view, but with both parties to the right, it appears to be 'left' biased)) but that they're a few stubborn hold outs here, that despite seeing report after report, fact after fact, will continue to spin for their team irrespective...

It gives you an understanding of how far beyond hope these guys are.

while all these polls are good news, i don't expect everything to stay this great. The republicans aren't going to sit on their hands and let the rest of this election slide away from them without trying some dirty tricks.

Yeah, I think they were planning on smears and lies and their RNC momentum to carry them to Election Day.

NOT THIS TIME. NOT THIS YEAR.

Oh I want those stories too but 24 news hour cycles have to fill that newshole with junk so if they filled it with junk on Obama when he was down I expect the same treatment with Mccain.

Actually I don't expect it but just making an observation...

And they gravitate away when they hear that said Democrats are struggling with arbitrarily defined demographics. Sure he's up in the Gallup, now, but he's doing extremely poorly among those who look forward to reading Family Circus every morning. That could be a problem come November.

OH GOD I'M SO HAPPY

See? Success. :p

For some reason... those green lines of the Gallup poll seem to mean more to me then any other poll out there, margin of error be damned. It resonates with my nerd emotional response core I suppose.
