Do you remember Marry The Night Download Day? It was a campaign organised by LMs to help Marry The Night chart in the US after it was announced as a single and it had an amazing impact
in that it did nothing
po3RDVm.gif

Still a life giving slay though.
Actually didn't start listening to Miss Joanne until right before Artpop but I vaguely remember something like that happening. I remember there was a smaller low-key similar deal with G.U.Y. where people made viruses that would only open up the YouTube page in, like, 100 tabs. Woo. Fun times.

Marry The Night is actually one of her best songs tho. Sigh @ the charts position but that's okay, music not the bling and all that.

That doesn't surprise me.
Watch G.U.Y. on VEVO tho
It's kind of a shame that you got into her after the BTW era though. The promo during 2011 was on point, and it was awesome experiencing that as a fan.

I got into her thx to the wonderful Applause thread on NeoGAF back when I was lurking so thx to whomever here made that. <3

The Applause mini-era was also awesome :) and whenever Applause comes on in GTA Online I get super happy. I wasn't on GAF until early 2014 but I kind of wish I was around late 2013. I would've loved to see POPGAF react to ARTPOP :)

Your impact tbh.

I still like Artpop. Even though I don't listen to it anymore.
I still enjoy ARTPOP

But that doesn't change the fact that it's the era that killed Gaga's career.
Slay
And it's only a temporary death tbh
Ha rebirth is coming, this was just a reverse Wartholian expedition into the decay of the blonde icon
Most of us loved it a first. Then slowly as time wore on we trashed most of it.

Ella Henderson's album comes out tomorrow (U.S.). I love Ghost, but knew nothing else about her until I just read she was on X-Factor UK. Funny cuz I kinda thought Ghost sounded like it could be a Leona Lewis song. Edit: I just watched her audition and a few X factor performance, I'm sold.

OMG I am dying!! Where does one find such videos with 76 views?!

"We Found Love" is about as far from timeless as you can get. "Umbrella" would've been the harder one to rank.

If Mariah and Kelly were included I would have placed We Belong Together after Since U Been Gone after We Found Love.

What's the last really great slow pop ballad that's been released and been successful? I can't come up with anything recent that I really LOVED, but I know I've just got to be drawing a blank.

The BTW talk on this page has me all misty eyed. Few pop gals have had an era as flawless as the Born This Way era. From being her best album (including her best songs Edge of Glory and Heavy Metal Lover) to her amazing costumes, her iconic performances (Marry the Night on a giant moon in a red satellite dress!!!), and even her grand entrances. I mean WHO ELSE shows up on the red carpet encapsulated in a giant egg?!! BTW is also when Gaga's feud with Madonna started, you know you've really made it when the Queen of Pop feels threatened enough to call you reductive in an interview lmao. Artpop the album is still better than her debut the Fame but man the era was just a complete trainwreck. I need Gaga to come back and slay, I miss her.

Tove Lo - Talking Body (NSFW video)

This is a good example of a lower budget video done in a good way. It was edited to like one continuous take, although, of course, it's comprised of at least 8-10 long shots.

Thed song is still so-so, though.

AMAZING VIDEO! Creative and cut very well. This show creativity and thought trumps budget.

I've really been enjoying Tove Lo album 'Queen of the Clouds'. It's a anti-depressant brutally honest album.

'Talking Body' is far from a so-so song (IMO). Actually one of my favorites on the album. I'll be listening to it while I'm on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro for carnival this year (28 more days). That's what I vision when I hear this song too, Rio.

Yes, BTW was her best albert. My top two fave songs from her are on it as well (Marry the Night and Edge of Glory).

Either she needs to come back or some other girl needs to step in with the same level of theatric. The Rhoach is just NO in terms of stage performances, I can't stand looking at Perra's face, (where is ketchup?), Lorde is weird, Lana doesn't do anything, Miley was disgusting to see irl, Selener is so boring, does Ariana even sing in English?, Charli flopped, Madonna and Britney suck hard now.

Gags had it all. Had it.

I never ever liked We Found Love. Umbrella or anything else would have been more timeless.
