Give me a break. Very very few artists of any genre have any real talent for artistic expression as teenagers...........judging them now is just ignorant.

This is a lie.

The writing on the wall for 1D lies in the very fact that their manager is Simon Cowell, who is notorious for not being able to evolve his acts. Once he finds a schtick that works he just spams it until it doesn't.

Well can't argue with that.

Still. 1D has had exactly 4X as many hits as Leona did.....so its a step in the right direction.

We will see who has the last laugh.

Lol Never Again hit the top 10? That song was such a flop :(

Has anyone on that list other than Kelly and Rihanna had a hit in the last year?

Leona Lewis: 3 #1 singles (and 2 #2's barely edged out by utter crap)

One Direction: 1 #1 single

You tried tho

Oh UK standards huh?

I suppose if you set your standards low enough anyone can be called a hit. You and Lana stans should get together some time.

She is so local.

I think that list is just someone's opinion on the best 100 pop songs from that year.

U sure? Think its just a snapshot of top 40 chart 5 years ago. I could be wrong.

If UK standards are so low, why haven't No Direction gotten a #1 there this era?

Not to mention that if we're only talking about the US (how very insular, by the way), then it doesn't change much:

Leona: 1 #1 single (and the biggest single of 2008)
No Direction: BZZT (where's the #1 single tho, poordat)

In any event, I'd rather feast on past glories than future trainwrecks. Luckily, I don't have to...(yet)

Lol Even Uk doesn't give a shit about Leona anymore sorry.

That peak of #7 for Trouble off of Flophearts must really burn.

Keep surviving of the fumes of your one international hit though.

Her quick dive into irrelevancy was so fast you must have missed it as it zoomed by.

HistoRIH Lesson:

Exactly one year ago Rihanna's WE FOUND LOVE hit #1 on the Hot 100, beginning the longest chart reign of this decade (both consecutive and in general).

Everyone give praise to our generation's biggest hitmaker and her flawless hit.

The Lord graces the cover of BAZAAR magazine; preparing to dominate Australia as her album gets certified platinum in 2 weeks and has stayed at 1 number since its debut. Blocking the likes of Delta Goodrem and St!nk she is poised to remain there until VILE Direction arrives.

I'm sure your "quick dive into irrelevancy" comment will render souls DEAD in retrospect when Leona's still releasing albums well into her twilight years, while PedErection flames out in a well-worn ball of alcoholism, baldness, and the saggy, bulging, patented British male prototype of ungraceful aging.

Enjoy.

Enjoy.

lol 1D has already had way more intentional success than that local band. Plus they are far more attractive to start with.

You must really have a thing for locals.

Seems as though boybands get 4-5 years of popularity before everyone's over it.

Are they even selling that well? Do they even have that many hit singles? Radio airplay?

I think their success is overrated. Hardly the phenomenon their stans would like us to believe.

Speaking of Lance how salty is it for gay-Gaf to find out that the least attractive member of a band is gay. I guess it'd be like finding out Kelly Rowland wasn't heterosexual for straight guys...

Just kidding Be
